Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: The Moist Body of Lana

The move Wicked Blow wasn't just a simple basic attack—it also boosted the chance of scoring a critical hit.

And considering Lusamine's ability had unknowingly shifted to No Guard, this hit landed with exceptional pain.

But that was only the beginning—because next, Haru tore off half of Lusamine-sensei's armor and followed up with a Giga Drain on her Blissey, trying to restore some HP.

And again—another critical hit!

Lusamine's luck was downright abysmal—getting her weak spots struck repeatedly by Haru.

As for Haru—after being "nourished" with one hearty gulp, he underwent a full Primordial Reversion—with all his stats massively enhanced.

It must be said—though Lusamine's armor was shoddily made, its durability was surprisingly decent...

Even with half of it ripped off, it hadn't completely fallen apart—just left a portion exposed and unprotected.

But none of that mattered now—what truly mattered was that after completing this experiment, Haru had truly grown.

He had validated Professor Lusamine's teachings—directly evolving from an Onix into a Mega Steelix!

And his Mega Steelix's Attack stat now soared to a jaw-dropping 13,000 points!

"Splendid work! I think you've fully grasped the importance of growth and nutrition," Lusamine beamed with pride, pleased to see her student progressing so rapidly.

Having such an eager student truly warmed her teacher's heart.

"Now then... let's proceed to the next phase of the lesson."

"In today's class, there's a certain Pokémon that plays a very special role—Lilligant. Our next topic will be about this fascinating species."

Completely unbothered by her half-destroyed armor, Lusamine openly displayed her vulnerable areas, seemingly waiting for that red critical-hit wound to naturally heal.

Pushing up her glasses with a serious look, she continued:

"Don't be fooled by Lilligant's delicate appearance—in truth, very few Pokémon can counter it effectively! One must proceed with caution."

"Professor Lusamine, how should I battle such a Pokémon?"

Diligent student Haru eagerly raised his right hand, his face shining with a thirst for knowledge.

"Very simple—just use your newly Mega Evolved Steelix."

"These two Pokémon naturally counter each other. While it's not a guaranteed win, there's definitely a good chance of success."

"This is a practical lesson—you can try it directly. After all, only through practice can one prove the truth!"

With that, she gently reassured him:

"Don't worry—I'll be right here watching. Lilligant won't be able to harm you."

"O-okay... I'll give it a try."

Despite feeling pressured by the risks of Pokémon battles, Haru's thirst for knowledge kept him from retreating.

As a competent Trainer, he wasn't about to back down from a challenge.

"Alright... Mega Steelix—prepare for battle! Use Harden, then follow up with Double-Edge!"

Never mind whether using two moves in one turn was technically legal—Haru's Steelix began by boosting its physical defense, then went all-in with maximum offense.

It was an exceptionally tough fight—though Lilligant appeared harmless, its power was not to be underestimated!

Sure enough, Lilligant easily tanked the first blow—and then, even more shamelessly, prepared to use Overheat to blast Mega Steelix into submission.

Under such overwhelming force, even Steelix—spamming Double-Edge—began falling behind.

Fortunately, Haru had a hands-on professor by his side, constantly guiding and encouraging him throughout the battle.

"Come on~ you can do it~ Lilligant won't last much longer! Just keep aiming for its weak spots—"

"Ah~ that's it~ keep going~"

While Haru was busy receiving Professor Lusamine's in-depth lesson, there were two other "students" watching the live-stream lecture remotely.

But... compared to diligent Haru, these two were clearly the classic bad students.

"Wah wah wah! I don't wanna watch! I don't wanna see their... performance!"

Lana, tied up like a dumpling in a sealed office, writhed frantically in her chair, trying to break free.

But with Mew's move involved—how could escape be so simple?

Forget fleeing—she couldn't even pull out her Pokéball.

Thus, Lana remained bound to the chair, forced to sit in the VIP audience seat that Lusamine had prepared in advance—compelled to watch their "performance."

And to make matters worse—even if she shut her eyes, the room's speakers were faithfully doing their job...

The classroom's microphones captured every bit of the battle—the dialogue, the gasps, even the pleas for mercy—and broadcasted them directly to Lana.

While she had witnessed a similar scene once before at Lusamine's mansion, it hadn't been anywhere near this explosive.

Back then, their encounter had been forcefully interrupted soon after Lana arrived—she'd only seen the aftermath.

But this time was different—this time she was witnessing everything, crystal clear.

And... Lusamine truly seemed intent on teaching them.

As the lesson entered its later stages, Lusamine even began deliberately highlighting certain techniques—clearly trying to make sure they learned them.

She was actually teaching...

What made it worse was that initially, Lana had resisted fiercely—determined that simply closing her eyes would foil Lusamine's plans.

But in the end—without realizing it—she'd started intently observing the earth-shaking battle.

And then... she suddenly felt her own Moist Body ability triggering.

And when Lana glanced at Wicke, she was even more shocked—Wicke's condition was clearly even more severe than her own.

No—that's not right!

Just watching from the sidelines shouldn't cause this kind of... reaction.

No matter what, she had to stay strong.

She couldn't give in—absolutely not!

Fueled by a rising inner anger, Lana's confusion only deepened.

Little did she know—what she thought was resistance... had already been accounted for in the grand plan...
