Chapter 12: Art of Survival Last Chapter: the Consequences
As the two figures descended from the griffon, as soon as Marcus looked at them, panic started to surge in him.
As soon as Valen and Lucian landed on the ground, Valen attacked Marcus, meeting out his anger that he held for 4 years.
Valen gripped his sword, Night Eater, tightly and started fighting him.
Marcus also did not hesitate, and they continued to clash their swords until Lucian interfered and attacked Marcus with lightning magic-infused spear.
His spear was cloaked in lightning aura. It was creating shockwaves so huge just from existing that it cleared the skies in the place the spell was used.
Lucian launched it into Marcus's blind spot. Marcus managed to block it, but then he was hit by Valen's kick.
Marcus looked at Lucian and thought in his mind, "So the rumours were true after all. He has reached the 3rd Realm low stage of sorcery and also the 4th Realm of spear, making him formidable as a 4th mid-realm expert."
Suddenly, his thoughts were interrupted by Valen.
Valen looked at him and said with satisfaction, "Finally, Alderwood, I can destroy you in peace."
Then suddenly, they heard a voice in the distance.
"You seem to be enjoying ganging up on a person."
They looked in the direction the voice was coming from.
They saw a boy with white hair and golden eyes and a perfect body type with a tall build, coming closer with his lazy walk.
As soon as they saw him, they knew it was the Hurricane Master, Michael Ollivier. He looked at them and suddenly teleported in front of them, leaving lightning behind him.
Valen jumped back, looked at him, and shouted in anger, "What kind of spell is this? It is not the normal teleportation spell, nor is it any advanced technique either!"
As soon as Michael heard those words, he replied in a mocking tone, "Don't worry, even if I told you, you wouldn't understand."
Marcus scoffed at him and said, "If I can't understand it, no one will."
Michael then replied with, "This technique does not require talent, boy. It requires brain, and clearly, you sacrificed it for two blessings. Anyway, I don't have time to play with you, and I can't let the shift of power be unbalanced."
As soon as Michael said those words, he completely disappeared, leaving a mark of the God of Speed, Hermes.
Valen exploded with anger seeing them leave. He infused his fist with mana and slammed it backward, destroying the mountain range behind him.

The Consequences of Betrayal and Interference in the Duel
As soon as Siegfried arrived on the scene, he saw his teammates standing together with Ellis's allies.
It did not take long for him to realize why they did that.
He started to look at them differently with a cold expression and spoke in a cold voice, "It's not your fault, it is the trial's fault. If you defeat me, you learn the first chapter of survival. If you fail, it's the last chapter of survival — demise after failure."
As soon as Siegfried spoke those words, Ellis and his own allies charged at him. He continued to block their attacks.
One of Ellis's allies looked at him and said, "Do you think you can win?" As he said those words, he let out a powerful magic attack.
Looking at the attack, Siegfried did not need to dodge, but he knew it was a complete humiliation to a warrior. He dodged it and appeared behind him. He then infused his hand with mana and smashed it into the boy's chest.
In an instant, that boy fell to the ground and got eliminated.
Siegfried then muttered to himself, "One down, four more to go."
As soon as he muttered those words, he appeared behind his ally. He was about to attack him, but one boy dashed at Siegfried with his spear.
Siegfried caught that spear with his hands, then he kicked the boy on the side of his ribs, breaking his bones and knocking him out.
Then Siegfried muttered to himself again, "Three more to go."
As soon as he finished kicking the boy and knocking him out, the other three gathered in a formation and shouted their attacks. They combined their forces with each other to create an attack.
Looking at them, Siegfried spoke in a calm voice, "If you wish to fight me with your serious attack, then I shall too."
As soon as Siegfried said those words, he gripped his spear and muttered to himself,
"Destroyer of Despair—"
The ground beneath him started to melt, and his spear started to be covered with magma, but it still didn't affect Siegfried.
"The Eternal Flame of the Destroyer."
He then threw his spear at the other allied forces, knocking them out instantly and burning the whole forest with its aura alone.

The scene then shifted to the fight between Ellis and Galahad.
Both of them were almost drained out of their mana in the fight.
Galahad was barely blocking the arrows with his spear, and Ellis was using all her might to pull the string.
Looking at their situation, both of them tried to take advantage of each other. Ellis tried to widen the gap, and Galahad tried to close it.
Ellis then shot a powerful arrow at Galahad, and Galahad blocked it with Three Hundred and Sixty Position Breaker.
They were fighting until Marcus and Michael appeared in front of them and restrained Ellis.
Marcus looked at Ellis and said, "Give up, Runestone. You will be joining me now."
Looking at her situation, Ellis knew it was better to give up than to fight, and then she agreed.
Until Galahad asked Michael what he was doing here.
Michael explained how he saved Marcus because if the duo had eliminated Marcus, the balance of power would have shifted. He then said to Marcus not to get his hopes up, as he was leaving now.
He then teleported back to his base.
