Chapter 9 - Ch 9: Healing

[...I WILL KILL YOU IF YOU DON'T WAKE UP ...YOU WILL BE CUT INTO PIECES IF YOU DON'T WAKE UP]

The alarm's voice screeched into my skull like a knife.

My eyes blinked open slowly.

Sunlight poured through the curtains, warm and golden. The ceiling above was familiar—my bedroom. I was home. In my bed.

The last thing I remembered was agony… a spear through my gut, blood pouring from my mouth, and then—Rias.

I reached out to silence the alarm and sat up.

And that's when I noticed.

I wasn't wearing anything.

Completely naked. No shirt, no boxers—nothing.

I froze, frowning. "...The hell?"

I glanced around. My clothes weren't folded nearby, nor was there any sign they had ever been removed gently. Something had happened. I was placed here like this.

And then I heard it.

A soft, almost angelic sound.

"...Unnn."

My eyes shifted.

There, beside me—peacefully sleeping, her breathing light and even—was a girl.

Crimson hair fanned across the pillow like a silk curtain.

Rias Gremory.

Naked.

Her flawless skin glowed in the sunlight, smooth and pale like moonlit porcelain. She lay on her side, one arm curled under her cheek, the sheets barely covering her chest.

Her figure was... hard to ignore. But I did.

Not because she wasn't beautiful—she was stunning—but because I already understood what this meant.

I closed my eyes and let out a small breath.

Right. Healing.

She stirred as I turned my head.

"...You're awake," she murmured, eyes still closed, voice soft like morning dew.

Then her crimson eyes fluttered open, locking onto mine.

"Good. I was worried for a moment," she said gently, propping herself up on one elbow.

Her hair cascaded over her shoulder, and she didn't seem embarrassed in the slightest about the situation. She looked relieved, calm, and maybe even a little curious about how I would react.

"I thought the yandere alarm might be too much, but you were still unconscious when I set it."

I sat up, still holding the sheets over my waist.

"I'm fine," I said.

She nodded, serious now. "You were lucky. That kind of wound… if I hadn't been there, you'd be dead. That spear was made of light. Holy energy is lethal to devils, even new ones."

She reached over and gently touched her fingers to my stomach.

The pain was gone. There wasn't even a scar.

"I used my demonic power to heal you. But it required direct contact..."

"Demonic power?" I faked a surprise.

"Yes, Demonic power. Issei you have become a Devil, and the Yuma was not a dream, it happened. And She killed you and convert you into devil of household."

I, once again faked a surprise. Normally, Issei should be surprised right.

She hesitated, her fingers brushing against my skin.

"That's why you're naked. I had to remove your clothes to treat the wound properly. The light energy burned through your skin and lingered in the wound. It would have continued damaging your body if I didn't purge it completely."

I gave her a nod.

"Thanks."

She blinked at me. "…You're surprisingly calm about all this."

"Should I not be?"

She tilted her head. "Most boys your age would be freaking out. Blushing. Screaming. You didn't even try to look at me."

I met her gaze without hesitation. "I know what you are. And I know what this means. You saved my life. I'm not going to act like a horny idiot just because we're both naked."

Her eyes searched mine, the teasing amusement fading into something else—something more thoughtful.

"You're… different from what I expected." She expected a pervert.

Silence hung for a moment, heavy but not uncomfortable. Her eyes scanned me, lingering for a second too long.

Then she sniffed the air once.

"You smell... nice."

I raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"

She tilted her head slightly. "It's strange. You smell really good. Did you use some kind of cologne or perfume?"

I shook my head. "No. I didn't put anything on."

She frowned. "Huh. That's odd. It's not a scent I recognize, either. It's... unique."

Before she could say more, a sudden voice rang through the hallway outside.

"ISEEEI~! BREAKFAST IS READY! COME DOWN BEFORE IT GETS COLD!"

It was my mom's voice.

I sighed.

"I guess some things never change."

Rias chuckled, pulling the sheets up over herself a bit more modestly. "You should get dressed. You don't want your mother walking in and seeing this."

"No kidding." I stood and started gathering clothes, ignoring her teasing gaze as she watched me move around the room.

"You're not like the boy I was told about," she said again, softly. "You're composed. Focused."

I glanced back at her. "People change."

She smiled to herself, lying back on the pillow again. "Yes… yes, they do."

As I pulled on a shirt, she spoke once more.

"I'll explain more later. About what I did, what you are now, and why I chose you."

I nodded again. "I'll be waiting."

From the hallway: "ISEEEEEEI~!"

"I'm coming!" I shouted back, slipping on my pants.

Rias chuckled from the bed.
