Chapter 12 - I. Elemental Classification (part 2)

Seven Basic Elements:

Fire 🔥: Fierce and explosive, specializes in direct offensive power.

Water đź’§: Fluid and adaptable, excels in healing and environmental manipulation.

Wind/Air 🌪: Agile and fast, controls movement and distance.

Wood/Nature 🌿: Growth and vitality, manipulates plants, focuses on defense and support.

Earth 🪨: Solid and enduring, creates structures and barriers, defensive in nature.

Lightning ⚡: Sudden and high-speed, delivers stunning and quick attacks.

Ice âť„: Control-oriented, slows down enemies, forms solid matter to manipulate the battlefield.

Two Rare Elements:

Holy/Divine (light)✨: Pure and sacred, specializes in healing, repelling darkness, and creative magic.

Dark/Demonic (shadow) 🌑: Shadowy and destructive, manipulates, corrupts, and controls the soul.

In this world, each elemental affinity possesses its own natural counter, forming a strategic cycle of mutual generation and suppression:

Water overcomes Fire.

Fire overcomes Earth, Ice, Wind and Wood.

Earth suppresses Lightning and Wind

Lightning counters Water.

Wood restrains both Water and Lightning.

Ice suppresses Fire.

Wind counters Water.

Beyond the standard elemental wheel lie two special categories: Light and Dark.

These two are not part of the typical cycle. Instead, they exist in absolute opposition—light and shadow, order and chaos—mutually exclusive and eternally at odds.

In actual combat, having an element that directly counters your opponent's can turn the tide of battle. Even a Adept-Tier mage, if wielding the proper counter-element, can stand their ground against a Master-Tier opponent.

However, from the Ascendant rank and above, the sheer power gap begins to eclipse elemental advantage. At that level, individual skill, mastery of magic, and sheer willpower become the deciding factors.

Moreover, elements can be combined to produce synergistic effects, amplifying their power or complementing one another.

Combinations like Fire + Wind, Water + Ice, or Lightning + Wood can unleash devastating attacks or trigger unique effects, depending on the mage's proficiency and control.
