Lin Jie let out a calm smile. "Have any of you ever seen me at my fastest?"
The others looked at him in surprise and confusion, not quite understanding what he meant.
But Yu Xiaogang, ever perceptive, immediately followed up. "Lin Jie, are you saying you can take down that Nine-Hearted Begonia Spirit Master in an instant?"
Lin Jie nodded. "If I were the one in charge of this battle, I could guarantee us victory."
Everyone looked at each other in disbelief. Yu Xiaogang asked cautiously, "Are you sure?"
Dai Mubai and the others cast uncertain glances at the confident Lin Jie, unsure where his conviction was coming from.
Yu Xiaogang studied him for a moment, then said, "If you're that confident, then I'll let you take command for this match." He looked at the rest of the team. "What about the rest of you—do you agree?"
Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun all quickly nodded. Tang San, curious about Lin Jie's strategy, nodded as well. Xiao Wu gave Lin Jie a skeptical glance, but ultimately agreed. Even Dai Mubai, after a brief pause, accepted the arrangement with a heavy heart.
Seeing everyone in agreement, Yu Xiaogang turned to Lin Jie. "Alright, now that we're all on the same page, can you tell us your plan?"
Lin Jie then shared the details of his strategy. The group quickly reached consensus, and once again, Oscar would sit this one out.
Watching from the sidelines, Flender, Zhao Wuji, and Yu Xiaogang couldn't help but feel emotional. The growth of these students had already exceeded their expectations—especially Lin Jie, Tang San, and Zhu Zhuqing. Each time they fought, they delivered new surprises. At this point, Flender no longer cared about wins or losses. What mattered was watching these children continue to defy expectations.
…Well, that didn't stop him from placing a 10,000 gold coin bet on Shrek's victory. If Oscar found out, who knows what he'd say?
Suotuo Spirit Arena, VIP Room No. 3
Seven people sat within the lavish room, each with a distinctive presence.
At the center of the sofa lounged a young man with jet-black hair and striking features. He wore a tailored blue combat outfit and leaned lazily against the backrest with his eyes closed. Though he appeared to be resting, there was something predatory about him—like a slumbering dragon, poised to strike at the first sign of prey.
Nestled against his shoulder was a young woman with short, dark violet hair and strange, emerald-green eyes that gave her a distinctly eerie vibe. She lazily twirled her green-painted fingernails, expression casual and languid.
A handsome youth nearby rolled his eyes at the cozy pair. "Seriously, Yanzi—could you two not be so lovey-dovey in front of a room full of single guys?"
The purple-haired, green-eyed woman gave a seductive smile. "Want big sister here to teach you how to become a man?"
The handsome youth waved his hands frantically. "No thanks! I don't think I can handle your Jade Phosphor Snake venom. Pretty sure only our captain can survive that."
Another girl sitting off to the side giggled. "Serves you right for teasing Yanzi."
Just then, the room's door creaked open. Instantly, everyone stood up in unison.
"Teacher Qin Ming!"
The man who entered looked to be in his thirties, dressed plainly with simple black hair and an average face. But his eyes gleamed with a startling sharpness. For someone to be the instructor of the Emperor Battle Team—he was clearly anything but ordinary.
Qin Ming wasted no time. "This time, you may finally have met your match." He laid a folder flat on the table. "Take a look at this."
The group crowded around.
Vice-captain Dugu Yan frowned as she scanned the document. "Shrek Academy? Eight members. Iron Spirit Arena Badges. No background to speak of. Teacher, how could a team like this possibly be a threat?"
Qin Ming's tone remained calm. "Their badges may be iron, but their points have already reached Silver Badge level. They've participated in twenty-seven team battles in just one month—and they've won every single one. It took you a full year to achieve the same."
Oslo, the Ghost Leopard Spirit Master, scoffed. "That's just because they haven't run into a real team yet. Like us."
They looked closer at the intel:

At the bottom was a bolded note:
The Shrek Team has maintained an undefeated record throughout the month. Their true strength is likely far greater than their ranks suggest. Pay special attention to Lin Jie, Zhu Zhuqing, and Tang San.
Dugu Yan couldn't help but laugh when she noticed the name Blue Silver Grass under the "high-priority" list. "Teacher, are you sure this report is accurate? That guy with the Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul—is he really a threat?"
Qin Ming gave a cold snort, and the room fell silent.
Yu Tianheng finally spoke. "Teacher, this Shrek team… aside from the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda and the White Tiger, the others don't seem worth noting. The report lists the Lightning, Hell Spirit Cat and Blue Silver Grass Martial Souls as high threats, but I've never even heard of the Lightning Martial Soul before. And Blue Silver Grass? Isn't that a completely ordinary Martial Soul? And what is an Evil Fire Phoenix supposed to be?"
Qin Ming nodded slowly. "You're right to question it, Tianheng. On paper, it may seem underwhelming. But don't judge them by appearances. They've gone undefeated for a reason."
He added with a more serious tone, "This time, I want you to hold back a little. And Yanzi—if you can avoid using your snake venom, don't use it."
Dugu Yan blinked in surprise. "Teacher, didn't you always say there are no relatives on the battlefield? Why ask us to hold back now?"
Qin Ming gave a wry smile. "This time… it's different. You'll understand once the match is over."
