Back in the arena, Adam seemed to look for an answer to the question; what had just hit him. Not only was he unable to dodge it, but he also wasn't even able to feel it coming. Whether it was the danger from the attack or the intent behind it. Nothing
"What is going on?" Adam mumble
"I couldn't even feel it or react to it." Adam thought while wiping the blood dripping down his nose. "That attack is weird. Something is off ... but if I see it one more time... I should be able to react to it."
Noah runs toward Adam and throws a straight front kick at Adam's head, which he dodges.
"I can dodge these. The problem is the special kick." Adam thought while keeping his eyes on Noah
Adam throws a punch, but Noah dodges it. Noah immediately throws another kick that gets blocked. Adam then throws a kick that gets blocked as well. The two continue to exchange blows without either of them gaining an advantage against the other
"Why isn't he using that kick?" Adam thought as their exchange continued. "Is there some kind of special condition that he needs to meet to use it? Or... could it be!?"
During the exchange of blows, Adam backs away, then dashes forward. He then kicks Noah in the left leg. The kick makes Noah's face twist in pain. Adam then backs away quickly to create some distance between the two of them
"I see." Adam says with a smile. "You can only use that kick with your left leg, and when you do, it hurts your leg, doesn't it?"
"So, you figured it out." Noah says in pain. "That's the price I need to pay to use a technique I haven't fully mastered. The ultimate technique of the Balnielk Fighting Art: Velox Hastam. A technique that turns the user's leg into the quickest spear to pierce the opponent."
Noah looks at his left leg
"My leg is in bad shape." Noah thought as he looked at his leg. "Using Velox Hastam again is out of question; however, that's the only technique I mastered out of the four Balnielk techniques. I'll need to keep fighting without using it."
"Let's end this." Adam says with boredom. "If you're not using that technique, then you can't beat me. In exchange, I'll show you my special move."
Eve and Seleph look at each other
"What is he talking about?" Caesar asks. "Are you telling me that this child from the first floor knows a Fighting Technique?"
"I... don't think he does." Elaine answers with hesitation
Back in the arena, Adam started to move his body to take a stance
"A special move?" Noah thought while looking at Adam taking a stance
Adam dashes towards Noah at full speed, then stops before Noah. He puts his right hand forward towards Noah with all his fingers glued together, pointing towards Noah. His left arm is pointing to the side. He draws it back and, with a devious smile, says the name of his technique
"Virtous Hastae."
He takes a deep breath, holds it in, and rotates his whole upper body as he throws the punch straight in Noah's stomach. He then fully extends his arm forward and sends Noah flying and rolling on the ground
"What a ridiculous amount of physical strength." Caesar says
Caesar's face was the same as always, but his tone was different. His tone held a slight amount of excitement and surprise
"Impossible." Byron says with widened eyes. "Noah... Noah lost!?"
"Not yet." Arlo says while looking at Noah. "You know it too, don't you? He's not the type to give up that easily."
Noah's hand twitches, then he starts moving it. He presses it against the floor and slowly but surely starts getting up.
"Hmmm." Caesar makes as he watches Adam
Adam grabs his left hand
"This is bad. My arm still isn't ready to use my technique again." Adam thought while looking at his arm. "If I were to use it again...Crap! Let's not think about it, it's the only way for me to win if he uses that weird kick."
Noah had now completely gotten up, but his body is staggering because of the damage he took from his own and Adam's techniques
"Damn it." Noah mumbles
"I can barely stand.... I can barely see.... I can't even feel my body right now.... but that's perfect." Noah thought as he struggled to stand up. "I can't feel my body. Thanks to that, I can use Velox Hastam since I won't feel the pain from using it once more."
Adam starts staggering and almost falls, but he quickly recovers. Blood starts to drip from his nose
"No way!" Adam thought as he wiped the blood coming from his nose. "Are you telling me that the first time he landed that weird kick, it did that much damage?"
"Both of them are barely standing." Caesar says. "Noah took more damage, but Adam's brain was shaken by Noah's first Velox Hastam, which makes their condition basically the same."
"The winner of this duel still is to be decided." Arlo says
"That Adam kid is not even a noble." Arlo thought as he looked at the two staggering while taking the stances needed to deliver their special techniques. "He hasn't learned any type of actual Fighting Technique, yet he was able to fight on equal terms with Noah. If I were the one fighting him instead of Noah, would I have been able to defeat him?"
Adam and Noah suddenly start running at each other at full speed.
"This is going to be their last exchange." Caesar says
As they run towards each other, Adam staggers and starts falling. With his eyes wide open, he sees Noah's left leg up in the air. He didn't see it, but Noah had used Velox Hastam; however, he ended up missing because Adam staggered and fell. Adam uses the remaining of his energy to plant his feet on the ground
"Virtous Hastae." Adam uses
Adam's fist rose, and just as it was about to land on Noah's chin. Noah, just like Adam a little earlier, staggers and falls. The two, Adam and Noah, both fall to the ground, leaving the entirety of the viewers silent. The lion made of arcana above Adam and Noah disappears. Caesar jumps into the arena and checks up on Noah. After doing so, he heads towards Adam, checks up on him, then turns to face the guests.
"Both of them passed out." Caesar starts. "Which means that the duel between these lion cubs has ended in a draw."
The guests all start clapping. They had witnessed a beautiful and entertaining duel. The day passes without any other crazy events unfolding. Adam's eyes open to an unfamiliar ceiling. He slowly gets up, then flinches. He looks at his arms and notices that his broken arm is in a cast
"I guess it broke after using Virtous Hastae two times." Adam says while raising his arm in the air. "The move is still incomplete; using it twice was too much."
Adam closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in and exhales. He then smashes the cast on the table next to him. Upon looking at it, his arm was already healed, and he had no problem moving it either
"How did the fight end?" Adam thought while clenching and opening his fist."I can't remember anything after I threw the second Virtous Hastae. Did I... lose?"
Suddenly, an incredible amount of clapping can be heard from a distance. Adam gets up and follows the noise. He ends up back in front of the door used to access the garden
"What's with all the clapping?" Adam says with curiosity
"What the hell are you doing here?" Someone says
Adam turns his head to the side and sees Noah Leoneo. Noah had a bunch of band aids unlike Adam and his cast was on his left leg instead. Furthermore, he was using a crutch to walk around
"What about you?" Adam asks with a frown
" Are you stupid?Did your brain break when your arm...did?" Noah says as he looks upon at Adam's arm. "How?"
"What about your leg?" Adam asks with a smirk. "You fell during our fight because I grazed your chin with one of my punches, didn't I?"
Noah frowns with anger
"I can say the same thing to you, can't I?" Noah says with a smile
"Enough fighting you two. You should both hurry and go in. Right now, the other kids are going through the Arcanet" A person says
"You... You are." Noah starts while staring at the person
