Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Monstrous talent

Ethan opened his eyes, his mind still foggy from his exhaustion. All around him clouds floated obstructing his vision preventing him from seeing through them.

Ethan looked down to find he was havering above water. Ethan moved ahead and approached the clouds, the calmness he was portraying surprising even himself.

He just felt so connected with the surrounding but at the same time so blind, like he knew exactly where he was but could not remember where he was. It was such a paradoxically nostalgic feeling.

As he approached the clouds, they parted and he saw a familiar orb floating nearby surrounded by the clouds.

He approached and started to examine it, without the blinding light obscuring observation Ethan saw that within the orb there was a rainbow colored crystal shard.

He attempted to raise his hand to touch it only to realize that he had no hand or even legs or a body even.

He was a mass of light. He was shocked then everything started to fade away as if he was dreaming.

"Et… Eth… Ethan!"

Ethan opened his eyes to find Anya screaming his name her face above her.

"What! Your being too loud." Said Ethan as he held his head, the ringing in his head persisting.

"What do you mean by 'what!' " shouted Anya clearly annoyed by Ethan's response as she lightly kicked him.

"Your awake!" shouted Leah from nearby as she and the others came running towards him.

"We hope you're okay?" said Jax as he examined Ethan for anymore injuries.

"I'm fine it's only this headache."

Ethan looked touched at the concern in their eyes. Ethan had never had friends because people in the evergreen town seemed to either worship him as some divine prodigy or they simply hate him because of a particular accident.

"Soo … what the hell was that? How did you do that" asked Kian.

"Yeah, how did you do that?"

The others joined, interested in how Ethan defeated the treant. Even Mr. Donald and Nox were interested, their eyes glowing expectantly.

"Well, I don't know either." Ethan awkwardly said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"How can you not know, I can't believe your so stupid you don't know what you did." Said Anya still angry about earlier.

"It just that as soon as I felt all that mana enter my mana veins, I felt bloated and my body almost exploded, so I pushed all the mana to my hand and cut towards the treant." Explained Ethan as he finally looked around. They were back in the forest, outside the temple.

The temple had collapsed split in two by Ethan's slash. Ethan's jaw dropped as he did not expect to do this level of damage.

"I did that?" pointed Ethan, jaw still dropped.

Before they could answer, Atlas appeared suddenly before them. Leah, Jax, Kian and Nole immediately drew their weapons on guard at the mysterious black-haired stranger.

"Dad!" shouted Ethan.

As soon as they heard Ethan they relaxed.

For the few minutes that Ethan had been unconscious, Anya had shared with the others what had happened after she escaped and how she met Ethan and his family.

"You guys have been busy." Said Atlas a smile on his face as he turned to look at the temple, a proud look appeared on his face.

He turned to look at Ethan shaking his head "I can't believe your smug about that, I could do that before I even started cultivating."

"You don't have to lie, just admit am better than you when you were my age." Said Ethan with a smug.

The other stood to the side and looked at the two brag, thinking just how much the father son duo were alike.

"I even had a breakthrough again in my cultivation, now I'm at the late vein strengthening stage and I only just started cultivating yesterday." Said Ethan proudly raising his chin.

"You only started cultivating yesterday?" asked the others clearly surprised.

Ethan arrogantly stood proudly, a smug smile on his face, at how they just realized how amazing he was.

They all looked at him with a complicated look. Ethan thought they were shocked by his fast cultivation but they were instead shocked by his comprehension talent.

He learned wood intent after only one day of cultivation, that was not just talent that was monstrous talent.

They were all geniuses so cultivating faster than the average people was common to them and not to mention that they were all practically born at the spirit body stage.

"Okay let's go home." Atlas interrupted everybody's thoughts as he called for them to come closer to him.

Atlas turned to look to the opposite direction as he smiled and waved goodbye towards the forest. Everybody looked to the forest finding nothing and looked at Atlas in confusion as they all disappeared.

A few minutes after the disappeared, the elf appeared from the forest as he examined where they disappeared from, caution in his every action. After confirming that Atlas was truly gone, he sighed in relief and turned to look at the temple.

'Five of those children carry the presence of the middle plane, one of them even has hints of our royal family bloodline.' Thought the elf. 'That wolf can't be that? They can't possibly be in the mortal plane.'

'And that man and the white haired boy have silver eyes.' The elf continued to stand there, lost in thought.' I can't seem to remember the man at all even though I just saw him a few minutes ago.'

The elf stood as he inspected himself to confirm nothing had been done to him.

'The boy gave me such a sense of dread! He looked exactly like that demon.' The elf shivered from the word demon as a particular memory came to mind of a man with white hair and silver eyes stood a top their world his rage hot enough to boil oceans.

He raised his hand to wipe away the sweat as he suddenly jolted awake in shock as he connected the dots.

"They can't be from that family?"
