Upon seeing Heilong and Aries, Xiao Feng's fury surged so fiercely that he wished nothing more than to tear them limb from limb. He charged at them with rapid strides, his fists each crackling with twin spheres of electric energy.
Calm and composed, Aries observed Xiao Feng's state and remarked, "I never expected this boy to possess two distinct evolved abilities."
Heilong ceased laughing, his surprise evident at Xiao Feng's sudden display of strength, yet he sneered dismissively, "Two abilities, so what? Judging by this, he's just another worthless fool."
"Don't mistake everyone for trash. It is precisely these so-called rubbish who, in the direst moments, will be the ones to end your life," Aries warned Heilong sharply.
While Aries spoke, Xiao Feng was already upon them, his emotions spiraling beyond control. His sole thought was to kill these two as swiftly as possible. Reason and justification were abandoned; the only motive was to kill.
Xiao Feng moved with such blinding speed that Heilong barely had time to react. When Xiao Feng appeared before him, Heilong attempted to seize him with his tentacles, but Xiao Feng's right fist shot upward, striking Heilong's jaw with brutal force. Silently, Xiao Feng cursed, "Die."
The resounding crack of the punch landed squarely on Heilong's chin.
This blow, even stronger than Tenar's, sent Heilong hurtling through the air, his body tingling from the electric charge that surged through him.
From afar, Heilong had braced himself, yet he never imagined Xiao Feng's speed would be so devastating.
With a thud, Heilong was airborne before he could even evade.
Seeing Heilong launched away, Xiao Feng did not hesitate—he delivered a savage kick to Heilong's body, sending him flying backward once more. Filled with rage, Xiao Feng longed to crush Heilong with a single blow.
From the moment Xiao Feng struck until Heilong was kicked away, barely five seconds had passed.
Heilong was utterly unprepared, his body hurtling dozens of meters down the street before finally coming to a stop. His chest felt as though it had been smashed by a speeding car.
Without pause, Xiao Feng charged again, determined to finish Heilong in one decisive assault. As he raised his foot to stomp down, Aries suddenly acted. With a single, effortless punch, Aries struck Xiao Feng's cheek, sending him flying sideways into a nearby wall with a loud crash.
Aries had moved—one hand casually tucked into his pocket—yet his punch alone hurled Xiao Feng away with ease.
Whitey, a hulking beast, howled upon seeing Aries send Xiao Feng flying. It swiped a claw at Aries, but Aries was swift, catching the paw and executing a brutal over-the-shoulder throw that slammed Whitey into a wall.
Whitey, a B-grade magical beast, rose immediately, then charged Aries once more.
Aries frowned, recognizing Whitey's strength. Dressed impeccably in his tailored suit, he aimed a precise punch at Whitey's right cheek.
With a sudden duck, Whitey narrowly avoided the blow, lowering his head and ramming Aries aside before opening his gaping maw to bite.
Aries, knocked back, rose abruptly and met Whitey's assault with an uppercut.
Though Aries appeared slight, his punch sent Whitey tumbling through the air, flipping several times before landing heavily.
Xiao Feng rose from the ground, coldly fixing his gaze on Heilong and Aries. "Who exactly are you? Why did you kill Tenar and Ivy?"
Heilong, battered more this night than in the past decade combined, glared fiercely at Xiao Feng. "You want to know who we are? I advise you not to. Everyone who has learned our identities has already descended to hell, including the Tenar and Ivy you mentioned." He rubbed his aching cheek and chest, the lingering numbness tormenting him.
Xiao Feng's eyes bore into Heilong, pained. "Do you know the girl you killed was someone I cherished deeply?"
Heilong shook his head with a cruel smile. "Sorry, I didn't know. We came to Black Whale City this time to kill anyone linked to the X Legion. No reasons, no remorse. But it seems I'm lucky—killing the first girl connected to you. Feels like I won the lottery, huh?"
Xiao Feng's gaze chilled, sharp as countless blades aimed at Heilong. "Who are you? Give me a clear answer. So that when I kill you, I'll know who you truly are. Are you scum from the Evil Dragon Sect? Or filth from the Alliance Army?"
Heilong laughed again. "Kid, you're not so simple. Honestly, I didn't want to kill you. If I'd met you earlier, I might have tried to recruit you into our Evil Dragon Sect—I could've even made you a deputy leader. But now, there's no other way. To enter the temple, I must kill you. No choice. But before you die, remember my name: I am Heilong."
Xiao Feng frowned, pondering the name Heilong. He had never tangled with the Evil Dragon Sect before and did not know their leader was Heilong himself. Yet he sensed this Heilong was no ordinary adversary.
"I don't care who you are. I just want to know—why did you kill Tenar and Ivy? Why?" Xiao Feng's face darkened like iron. Killing Tenar stirred little emotion, but Ivy's death felt like a piece of his very soul had been torn away—a pain and sorrow few could fathom.
Heilong sneered, "I told you—anyone connected to the X Legion, anyone related to you, Xiao Feng, I won't spare a single one. Not even you will live to see another day."
