After Doraemon gave the order, the sails—previously retracted during the stop—unfurled once more. A strong gust of wind filled them, and the ship began to speed across the water.
Daichi held tightly to his sailor's cap to keep it from being blown away by the sudden gust.
Doraemon then pulled out a Mini-Dora, sprayed it with stripes and a sailor hat, and used the Copying Mirror to create multiple mini versions. After painting each differently, a whole crew of tiny sailors came to life.
Next, Doraemon used anti-gravity paint on the lookout tower.
Nobita sprinted to the top, quickly overtaking Gian and Suneo who were struggling on the rope net, and joined Shizuka to gaze into the distance.
Daichi requested swimsuits for himself and Dekisugi, then pushed Dekisugi off the deck—before he could finish warning that swimming without safety measures was dangerous—and jumped in after him.
Dekisugi surfaced with a frown. "That was dangerous!" he scolded, splashing water at Daichi.
Daichi didn't hold back, splashing right back. Soon, Dekisugi forgot all about safety concerns.
Gian and Suneo, who had no intention of climbing anymore, saw how much fun everyone else was having and dove in as well.
Eventually, Shizuka joined them in her swimsuit. Nobita, though changed into his own, sat coolly on the edge of the ship, unable to swim.
Doraemon sighed and sprayed the sea with Liquid Solidifier Gel, then pushed Nobita into the water.
Before he could even scream, he bounced back up—the sea now had the texture of a rubbery trampoline.
Everyone turned the ocean into a giant bouncing pad, with even some Mini-Doras joining in the fun.
Before long, the gel began to fail due to the area being too large. Doraemon hurried to pull Nobita back onto the ship.
Drenched and breathless, Nobita gasped, "That's too dangerous. Let's try something else."
Doraemon scratched his head, then noticed some flying fish leaping nearby and had an idea. He pulled out the Flying Fish Glider—a vehicle that could travel on both sea and air.
Everyone boarded and began a sea-surfing race. With no one else around, safety wasn't a concern.
As for the ship, Doraemon and the Mini-Doras remained aboard to ensure nothing went awry.
While riding, Daichi suddenly wondered: What if I cast a Level 2 Wind Step on this thing?
And so he did—and immediately regretted it.
The glider bolted forward at several times the previous speed, disappearing from everyone's sight in a flash. The sudden acceleration nearly snapped Daichi's neck, almost ejecting him from the adventure entirely.
After barely adjusting to the speed, he quickly dispelled the Wind Step.
That brief burst had drained a tenth of his mana—an amount it normally took an hour to consume with Wind Step on himself.
Whew… so it scales with current velocity. The faster the base speed, the more magic it consumes.
With this knowledge, Daichi realized he now had a powerful escape option if needed.
He returned to the ship as Doraemon began collecting the Flying Fish Gliders—deciding to store them away for safety.
Back onboard, as they debated what to do next, a giant whale suddenly surfaced.
Doraemon clapped and said, "I've got it—Momotaro Rice Balls!" He tossed one into the whale's mouth.
The group then rode the whale's back like a water slide. Its slick skin made it surprisingly comfy.
Nobita lay on the whale basking in the sun, when a shadow suddenly fell over him. Opening his eyes, he saw the whale spouting water.
Before he could dodge, he was drenched. The others burst into laughter.
Daichi, watching Dekisugi laugh so freely, asked, "So, which brings you more joy—this or reading?"
Dekisugi smiled. "Both make me happy, but they're not really comparable. You can learn and gain so much from both—just in different ways."
Time passed swiftly, and the sun dipped toward the horizon. Everyone's stomachs began to growl.
Doraemon pulled out an Auto-Fishing Rod and began casting lines into the sea.
The ocean was full of fish, and soon they had a large catch. As the sun set, the group grilled fish together. The fresh catch was delicious.
Daichi, never having tasted such seafood before, couldn't stop himself until his stomach was completely full.
After their feast, everyone took turns bathing in the cabin's bathroom—after all, they'd spent most of the day in the sea.
By the time everyone had cleaned up, night had fully fallen, with only a sliver of crescent moon above.
Dekisugi approached Daichi. "I'm still a little uneasy… I've never spent the night away from home before."
Daichi patted his shoulder. "Don't worry. You're already home."
Dekisugi blinked, confused by the remark.
Daichi chuckled and found Doraemon. After explaining the situation, Doraemon patted his chest confidently. "No problem! I'll get the Anywhere Door. You'll see you're at home."
He opened the door—linked to Dekisugi's room—where an alternate Daichi was removing thread from a golden cloak, while a second Dekisugi stood waiting.
When they arrived, the other Dekisugi quickly said, "Listen! You must keep an eye on Daichi! Don't let him—mmph!"
That Daichi covered his mouth just in time to stop him from saying something crucial.
But he quickly added, "Don't worry. I just took on something risky with high rewards. He's just worried I'll get hurt. But I'll be fine. Go enjoy your adventure—we've got it covered here."
Dekisugi nodded. "Then I'll leave it to you." He closed the door.
Then, turning to Daichi, he asked, "What exactly did I want to warn myself about?"
Daichi just shrugged. "No idea."
Relieved that everything was fine, Dekisugi walked to the rail. "The night's beautiful… but something feels missing."
Shizuka joined him. "Yeah. It's really dark. There should be some light."
Doraemon once again stepped forward. "Leave it to me—Glow Jellyfish Seeds!"
He poured round beads from a glass bottle into the sea.
"What are those?" Nobita asked the question everyone (except Daichi) was wondering.
"You'll see soon!" Doraemon said with a mysterious smile. Everyone leaned over the rail.
Soon, a single glowing dot appeared on the water's surface, then spread outward until it reached the horizon.
"These seeds turn into glow jellyfish that will swim in the direction we've set. All we have to do is follow them to reach Treasure Island!" Doraemon proudly declared.
Staring at the glowing path stretching into the distance, Dekisugi sighed, "No matter how many times I see it, Doraemon's gadgets are always amazing."
Daichi nodded. Seeing it in the anime and in real life are two totally different experiences. This is really beautiful.
Later, Doraemon said, "Don't worry. After the adventure, we'll return to this afternoon using the Time Machine. Now let's get some rest. The Mini-Doras will handle the sailing tonight."
Everyone agreed and headed into the cabin—except Shizuka, who lingered on deck. Doraemon called for her to get some rest.
Just as she turned to go, she noticed a soft yellow glow on the ground. Picking it up, she found a glow jellyfish.
She tried to return it to the sea, but it curled up in her hands.
"Aww, are you afraid of the ocean?" The jellyfish wobbled its head.
"Fine, fine. My pocket's a bit tight, but make yourself comfy," she said, tucking it gently into her pocket.
The cabin was cramped, with only four beds and a hammock. Room assignments had to be made.
That night, Nobita shared with Doraemon, Daichi with Dekisugi.
Suneo was supposed to share with Gian, but Gian was too big—so he was sent to the hammock. They couldn't let Shizuka, the only girl, sleep there.
Once everyone was settled, they exchanged "Good nights" and quickly fell asleep. The day's wild activities had worn them out.
Daichi didn't sleep right away. He spent two hours meditating and training, as he did every night.
There were sure to be fights ahead. Even if he remembered there weren't any particularly strong enemies in this storyline, caution was always necessary.
Unlike the others, Daichi wasn't protected by narrative invincibility. If he wasn't careful, he'd be the first to die.
He had to stay strong—if he wanted to survive.
