The Fateful Afternoon
It's just a normal afternoon in the streets of Seoul, the sun was shining gently in the sky. Everythink looked peaceful.
Jin Tae-hyun, a 17-year-old boy, walked home with his two little sisters, Eun-bi (15) and Soo-ah (12). They had just bought some groceries and snacks from the store. Jin Tae-hyun's eyes scanned the street, his mind preoccupied with the struggles of taking care of his sisters since their parents' tragic death in a car accident 8 years ago. Despite the hardships, Tae-hyun had always put his sisters' needs before his own, working hard to provide for them.
As they reached a street corner, two fancy black cars pass from them. Jin Tae-hyun noticed a well-dressed man inside the first car, looking rich and important. Suddenly, loud gunshots filled the air. Four motorbikes and a van rushed onto the street, and nine masked men with guns began shooting at the black cars. The bodyguards in the front car were hit instantly, their bodies fall in the car.
Jin Tae-hyun's instincts kicked in. He quickly grabbed his sisters' hands and pulled them into a nearby store. His heart racing, he found a staircase to the basement and helped them down. "Stay here and be quiet. I'll come back," he told them, his voice simple but worried. He closed the door behind him, his eyes scanning the street for any signs of danger.
One gangster noticed Jin Tae-hyun and ran after him with a gun.Jin Tae-hyun's he sprinted down the street. The gangster aimed and tried to shoot, but the gun clicked empty. Tae-hyun took the chance, his training in martial arts kicking in. He jumped forward, blocked the man's arm, and delivered a swift kick to his neck. The gangster fell to the ground, clutching his throat.
However, Tae-hyun's relief was short-lived. Two of the guards of the rich man, mistaking him for one of the attackers, started shooting at him. Tae-hyun dodged the bullets, his heart pounding in his chest. He spotted a shotgun lying next to a fallen guard and grabbed it. With a deep breath, he fired five times, hitting four gangsters. His shooting was quick and accurate, but he knew he was in grave danger.
The driver of the second car was hit in the leg and arm, crying out in pain. Jin Tae-hyun's eyes met his, and for a moment, they shared a look of desperation. Another car arrived, and three more gangsters jumped out, shooting at Tae-hyun. He felt a pain in his shoulder, leg, side, and left arm as bullets ripped through his body. But Tae-hyun refused to give up, he forced himself to stand, punching one gangster in the nose, then hitting his neck, and finally landing a strong blow to his stomach. The man dropped to the ground, unconscious.
The sound of police sirens grew louder, and the gangsters retreated. Tae-hyun collapsed to the ground, his vision blurring. The security camera above the shop had recorded the entire fight, capturing his bravery and skill. But his face was hidden in shadows and blood, leaving his identity a mystery.
As the police arrived and rushed to help the wounded, Tae-hyun's eyes fluttered closed. Something had changed that day. Something had awakened inside him.
