Back at the party, the music still played, laughter still echoed, and the dancers twirled across the stage with grace—but something didn't sit right with Thema.
She glanced at her wristwatch. Loisa said she was going to the restroom. It's been almost an hour
She looked around. Where is she?
"Excuse me," she said to Arlo, standing up. "Loisa has been gone too long. I'm going to check on her."
"Maybe she got caught up with someone?" He winked.
Thema frowned. "No. She would have sent a text or something. Something is off."
She hurried toward the hallway leading to the restrooms.
She pushed open the bathroom door. "Loisa?" she called, checking everywhere it was empty.
A chill crawled down her spine.
Okay, don't panic, she told herself, stepping back into the hallway. She looked around and no signs of her.
She returned to the party and approached Prince Andy, her tone sharp but respectful.
"Prince Andy, have you seen Loisa? She left to use the restroom a while ago and isn't back yet."
Andy's expression shifted immediately. "No, I haven't. Are you sure she didn't hook up with someone around here.
Thema nodded. "Yes, and I know her. She wouldn't just wander off. Something is not right."
Andy looked at Kim across the room. "We need to alert the Alpha."
Kim stood, sipping from a glass of red wine, his thoughts still clouded by Loisa's presence few minutes ago,When Andy and Thema approached, he immediately noticed the worry on their faces.
"What's going on?" he asked.
"It's Loisa," Thema said quickly. "She went to the restroom and isn't back. She's been gone for over twenty minutes."
Everything in Kim stilled. His wolf snarled.
"Frank!" he barked. Frank appeared at his side. "Search every corner of this place. Loisa's missing."
Frank nodded and sprang into action. Kim turned to Thema. "Tell me everything."
Thema recounted it all, and with every word, Kim's eyes grew darker, he growled as his chest rumbled as he tried to keep his wolf at bay.
"She's in danger," Kim muttered.
"How do you know?" Thema asked, voice shaking.
Kim's voice was low but intense. " I can
feel it through the mate bond."
