When the Pure Yang Sword made its appearance, a terrifying, overwhelming sword intent pierced through the skies. Everyone in the Demon City—humans and demons alike—felt the suffocating presence of that massive sword aura, one powerful enough to threaten their very lives.
People all around trembled, subconsciously glancing toward the City Lord's mansion.
At the same time, over in Huomu City, the Divine Capital—far away yet somehow connected—sensed the emergence of the Pure Yang Sword. His brow furrowed slightly.
"How strange… Could it be that the divine artifact meant to counter me has finally shown up?"
"But I'm not like the Holy Master in the original story. My real body is hidden away in secret. This huge human-headed dragon form is just a shell I use to fool the world."
As he muttered to himself, a golden five-clawed dragon wreathed in blazing divine flames slithered through his pupils.
This was the Divine Capital's true form—the Great Sun Golden Dragon, the one who wields the power of blazing fire.
As the thoughts swirled in his mind, the Divine Capital looked once more in the direction of the sword's appearance, the one he felt so strongly.
His eyes glowed red, their gaze cutting through the continent, landing squarely on Demon City.
"What a terrifying sword aura… But somehow, it feels kind of weak. It doesn't pose any threat to me at all."
"Is this really the sword that's supposed to counter the Holy Master in the original story?"
When his gaze settled on Demon City, the Divine Capital instantly understood: this was the legendary divine artifact that would one day be used to seal him away.
Just like how Ximu, in his own domain, wielded a divine flute—no demon dared block his path when he held that thing.
Without even meaning to, the Divine Capital sighed in his heart.
The "Chronicle of Time"—that book—is practically a cheat item from Jackie Chan Adventures.Write something in it, and boom, it becomes real.
Still, even though divine artifacts strong enough to seal the Eight Demon Lords have started appearing, the current era is dominated by dark energy. They're not strong enough to win yet.
In the future, maybe they succeed because the balance tips too far—too much yin, too little yang. Demons run wild, and in response, the forces of good shape the Eight Immortals—beings nearly beyond human. Eventually, each of them seals one of the Eight Demon Lords using their own unique artifact.
But here's the thing: once the Demon Lords are sealed, the Eight Immortals make the world too "righteous." Over time, that messes up the balance again—too much yang, not enough yin. In the end, the Eight Immortals are forced to ascend and leave the world of Jackie Chan Adventures behind.
Another idea stirred in the Divine Capital's mind.
If the Eight Immortals, born of righteous energy, could ascend and leave this world…Could the Eight Demon Lords—born of dark energy—do the same?
But the Demon Lords were greedy. They didn't want to give up their power and influence in this world. So none of them ever tried to ascend.
Back then, both the Demon Lords and the Immortals were basically godlike beings—way out of reach for ordinary people. If they wanted to ascend, they probably could have.
But since the Demon Lords refused, the dark energy kept spreading, locking the world into an eternal Demon Era.
That balance was finally broken when the Eight Immortals appeared.
Not wanting to repeat the Demon Lords' mistakes, they chose to ascend and leave.
The world returned to a balanced state—no more unbeatable forces on either side of yin and yang.
But in the end, evil can't suppress good forever. With time, righteousness always rises again. Eventually, the Holy Master breaks free from Demon Hell and the Demon Era starts all over again.
With so many thoughts swirling around, the Divine Capital couldn't tell which were real and which were just speculation.
Could the Eight Demon Lords really ascend and leave this world, just like the Immortals?
But right now, the divine artifact that would eventually seal him had just appeared… and it was pathetically weak. It didn't pose any threat. At most, it was just mildly annoying.
"A divine sword that slays demon dragons, huh? But if it's not in the hands of one of the Immortals, can it really kill me—a true dragon?"
Looking toward Demon City, where the sword aura was strongest, the Divine Capital let out an evil smile and whispered coldly.
Now, the divine sword and the flute were both out in the open. Both Ximu and the Divine Capital ruled their territories, and their matching divine artifacts had appeared.
Meanwhile, the other Demon Lords' divine weapons were also slowly resurfacing across the lands, falling into the hands of ambitious demon leaders who dared to challenge their own lords.
After the last Demon Lord council ended, most of them had come to the same conclusion: once you fully control your domain, you can fight for Zhulan's territory next.
That led to the Demon Lords pouring power into their underlings, strengthening them to expand their territory.
This sudden aggression had terrified the other forces across the continent. But the demons all seemed to have made an unspoken agreement—they each decided to use that thing to resist the Demon Lords.
The only one not involved was Zhulan, who resided in the lunar realm—the moon. She never got involved in the affairs of the blue planet.
Which meant, the divine artifact meant to seal the Demon of the Moon—the lotus bud—had yet to appear.
Demon City – Within the Timeless Space
Liyan held the Pure Yang Sword in his hand and muttered under his breath,"The magical weapon that can suppress the Fire Demon Lord…"
Then, he suddenly burst into wild laughter.
"Hahahahahaha!"
"With this artifact in hand, so what if he's a Demon Lord? He can't stop me now!"
"I, Liyan, absorbed the power of all seven other Demon City Lords, and gained the incredible strength of the Chronicle of Time. I have the power to rewrite history itself!"
"The Demon Lords? They'll all fall to this sword, one by one!"
"I'll rally the demon army and take down the Fire Demon Lord. I'll protect what's mine!"
"And hey… I'll even fulfill the wishes of those other Demon City Lords while I'm at it!"
As he spoke, Liyan lightly swung the sword through the air.
In an instant, space tore open. A glowing portal appeared before him.
Liyan stepped into it, his figure slowly vanishing into the sacred yet sinister space of time.
Moments later, he returned to Demon City and quickly summoned all his subordinates.
"Master, what are your orders?" they asked respectfully.
Liyan looked down at them with a serious face and spoke in a deep voice:"Gather the demon army. We're going to war against the Fire Demon!"
Then he turned to the demons who had come from other cities, ones that used to follow the other Demon City Lords. Putting on a mournful expression, he said:
"My friends, you've come a long way. Your lords were my allies."
"Not long ago, I went with them to investigate the Fire Demon's territory."
"But the moment we arrived, that bloodthirsty monster found us. Your lords—your brave, loyal lords—gave their lives to cover my escape. They died in Huomu City. I'm devastated."
"I, Liyan, failed them. I failed you. I couldn't save them."
"But before they died, they entrusted you to me. They wanted me—Liyan—to lead you. To take back your cities, to fight the Fire Demon!"
"So tell me… Will you join me in carrying out your lords' final wish?"
His words were full of lies. He painted the Divine Capital as the one who killed the other Demon City Lords. Made himself look like the sole survivor.
Those demon underlings had no idea—they didn't realize the real killer of their masters… was standing right in front of them.
