Chapter 96 - Chapter 96

[Epic Human-Human Fruit – Phantom Beast: Uzumaki Naruto Form Crystal]:

A rare and powerful Phantom Beast-type Devil Fruit. Upon consumption, the user gains the abilities of Uzumaki Naruto from the Naruto universe. All original Devil Fruit side effects have been removed, and this fruit is compatible with further synthesis.

As Kairos Flint finished reading the description through his system's golden interface, he went completely silent.

Seriously?

This outcome was... absurd to the extreme.

He had originally possessed both the Fox Fruit and the Energy Fruit. Using the system's bizarre synthesis function, he expected a result akin to a Nine-Tailed Fox transformation. Instead... this.

The system didn't follow any conventional logic.

Combining a Fox-type fruit with an Energy-type should not produce something this off-track—a Phantom Beast Devil Fruit named after Naruto Uzumaki.

It made no sense at all.

Especially this combination.

If he had intended to synthesize the Nine Tails, fine. But this? This was the Naruto version of the Human-Human Fruit.

"Uzumaki Naruto's powers?" Kairos muttered, frowning. "Shouldn't this be at least of Mythical grade?"

But after a few moments of thinking, he relaxed.

"Sure, Naruto's powers are incredibly strong. But to truly reach Mythical status, he'd have to be on Kaguya Otsutsuki's level—immortal, wielding the full power of the Ten Tails."

"In the end, Naruto and the others only managed to seal Kaguya through teamwork. They were near Six Paths level, but not quite there. It was more 'pseudo-Six Paths' than the real deal."

With that analysis, Kairos concluded why the system had classified it as Epic and not Mythical.

Even so...

"Should I eat it?"

He stared at the glowing fruit crystal in his hand, hesitant.

If it were the Uchiha Madara form, he wouldn't hesitate. He'd down it in a heartbeat. After all, in the Naruto world, Madara was the king of dramatic entrances. He was the ultimate "cool villain."

Who wouldn't want that power?

At least, he wouldn't refuse it.

But Naruto's power…

That was a different story.

"Forget it. I'll ask Nami if she wants it."

"Naruto's abilities come in many forms—Sage Mode, Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, Kurama Mode, Six Paths Sage Mode, even Heavy Particle Mode. A lot of them are perfect for long-range combat. That suits Nami better."

Having made up his mind, Kairos walked out of the room with the Epic-grade Devil Fruit crystal in hand.

He found Nami shortly after.

"This is a Devil Fruit ability crystal," he said. "It's Phantom Beast-type, like Vivi's. But this one has long-range combat capabilities—might be more your style. Want it?"

He calmly explained the fruit's traits.

And he wasn't wrong.

Just look at the Wind Release: Rasenshuriken. Or the Tailed Beast Bomb. Those are all ranged techniques.

"Then it's mine," Nami smiled and took the crystal from him without hesitation.

She trusted Kairos completely.

She swallowed the crystal, which melted in her mouth instantly.

Suddenly, a rush of memories and energy surged through her. She began to understand the power of the Uzumaki Naruto Form.

"So this is Devil Fruit power?" she said, stunned. "It's incredible."

She couldn't help but reflect on how different things would've been if she'd had this power back when Arlong invaded her home village.

That evil fish-man would've been nothing.

BANG!!!

Nami activated her new powers on instinct.

Golden chakra enveloped her entire body. Her hair floated upward, forming two chakra horns. Six magatama marks appeared on her collarbone.

Nine-Tails Chakra Mode!

Despite just eating the crystal, she had already unlocked one of Naruto's most iconic transformations.

"This is the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode," Nami said confidently. "There are a few lower stages—normal form, half-Tailed Beast form, and Sage Mode. For now, this is the strongest mode I can access."

"Later, I'll unlock Kurama Mode, Kurama Sage Mode, Six Paths Sage Mode… and finally, Heavy Particle Mode."

She grinned.

"These abilities have a ton of long-range applications. It suits me perfectly."

Nami was beyond satisfied.

Since joining Kairos, she'd come to understand how vital it was to have her own power. And now, with this fruit? It was a game-changer.

Hearing this, Uta and the others quickly gathered to congratulate her.

Vivi, in particular, seemed fired up.

"Nami! How about a spar?" she said eagerly.

"Nope. I'm going shopping."

Nami rejected her proposal without a second thought.

"We've just arrived here. If we don't check out the local fashion, this trip would be a waste!"

Unlike Vivi, Nami wasn't obsessed with fighting.

She had money—and she was going to spend it. Especially here in the Chambord Islands. This was a shopper's paradise.

"Then I'm coming too!" Uta said, clapping her hands. "I need a new look for my next performance!"

"I'll tag along as well," Robin added. "I want to check out the local bookstores. Might find something rare."

Since it was everyone's first time here, they were all excited to explore.

Even Vivi gave in.

"Alright, count me in."

Though she loved fighting, she also enjoyed fashion.

Soon, all their eyes turned toward Kairos.

He instantly understood what they wanted.

Money.

Of course, Kairos was the group's treasurer. His powers made him the perfect vault—no one could steal from him.

So all the funds were managed by him.

He pulled out a black suitcase.

"There's 50 million Berries in here. Go wild. I'm staying behind," he said.

With that, Nami and the girls went off on their shopping spree across the island.

Meanwhile, Kairos returned to his room.

He had dozens of ability crystals—some common, some rare, some elite. He needed to get back to synthesizing.

Each synthesis took a toll on his stamina. But the results were worth it. He could crank out dozens at a time and start distributing the best ones.

While Kairos worked tirelessly, news came in from the Navy:

The operation had failed.

Back in Mariejois, the news hit the Five Elders (Gorosei) like a bombshell.

They exploded in rage.

But before they could reprimand the Navy, Fleet Admiral Sengoku lashed out first.

And he didn't hold back.

First, he tore into the World Government's intelligence agencies.

"How could you idiots miss the fact that there were two emperor-level powerhouses on that ship?! You sent us in blind!"

He accused them of either being utterly incompetent… or deliberate saboteurs working against the Navy.

Next, he ripped into their decision-making.

"All because of one dead CP9 agent and one injured, you people labeled them pirates? I was about to recruit them! Now we've lost two emperor-level combatants. This is on you!"

Finally, Sengoku added insult to injury:

"If you think you're so mighty, why don't you send your own people into the New World and wipe out the Four Emperors yourselves?"

Silence.

The Five Elders had no retort.

One banged his weapon on the ground.

Another slammed his fist on the table.

"Damn that Sengoku!!!" they all growled in unison.

Their pride was wounded, but removing Sengoku from his post?

They wouldn't dare.

He had too many connections. Too much loyalty from within the Navy.

If they ousted him for petty reasons, the whole system might collapse.

"We need to confirm if there really were two emperor-level figures," one of them said.

"If that's true, the Buster Call was useless. Sacrificing Marine lives for nothing is unacceptable."

"We still need the Navy to keep the world stable. Minimize unnecessary losses," added another.

Everyone nodded.

And so, secret orders were issued.

The World Government began quietly investigating the truth.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world—

Morgans, the news tycoon, was hard at work.

After gathering intel and spending a fortune on photos, he finally had a story worth publishing.

His newspaper? About to break sales records once again.
