"But Aunt, how does this relate to the persecution you mentioned?" Aiden had a new question.
"Don't worry, let me tell you slowly." Molly sat up straight. "The reason why the family forces its members to fight constantly is to activate the dragon blood in family members' bodies to a greater extent."
"But Aunt, if the concentration of dragon blood increases and racial deviation occurs, wouldn't that be—no longer human?"
"No, Aiden, you don't understand the secrets of dragon blood." Molly revealed the secret of pure-bloods in a calm tone. "The concentration of dragon blood can increase, but the human side in the body will not completely disappear."
"Why does Prewett pursue battle? Why are pure-bloods so proud?" Molly continued. "Because these families are all pursuing the same thing: Magical Creature Transformation."
Aiden sat down and listened carefully to Molly's story.
"In ancient times, we wizards discovered that we could use magic to transform ourselves, but this natural transformation has its limits."
"Even if we complete the magicization of all the organs of the body, our body is only slightly stronger than a Muggle."
"Maybe we can live a little longer, or perhaps some strange abilities will be born in future generations. But this is not what wizards want."
"So what do wizards want?" Aiden asked.
"It's nothing more than longer lifespans and stronger physiques."
"Due to differences in research, two factions emerged."
"One faction believed that we could abandon the flesh and focus on the eternity of the soul and mind."
"The other faction believes that the flesh is an indispensable link to harmonise the soul and mind, so we must transform the flesh to achieve eternity."
Aiden scratched his cheek. "So the products of the research are Horcruxes and pure-blood families?"
"How do you know about Horcruxes?" Molly was a little angry.
"Ahem, the family's collection of books has a rough record, but a lot of related documents have been lost," Aiden said to make amends. He changed the subject. "Aunt, please continue, you haven't finished yet."
"The story behind it is also boring. The wizards who studied the flesh made a series of transformations to the flesh. This caused extremely serious consequences, with a large number of magical creatures losing their intelligence appearing."
"In the end, the ones who achieved certain results were the so-called pure-blood wizards in various places. There are also those people in the east, I heard they are called some aristocratic family."
"Aunt, what about us Prewetts? What are we pursuing?" Aiden asked.
"What Prewett is pursuing is dragon transformation. That is, the transformation of magical creatures."
"We want to allow our bodies to be transformed into a special kind of dragon, but at the same time, we have to maintain our sanity."
"And this state you're in now, Aiden," Molly said with a sigh, "it's a point our Prewett ancestors also reached, according to family history."
Aiden then asked, "But Aunt, pure-bloods have been marrying each other for so many years, and some have even spread out in the Muggle world. Won't there be any problems?"
"This brings us to another measure taken by wizards, which is the surname," Molly said. "Since there will be variables in blood inheritance, it is better to simply establish a large-scale ceremony in the misty fantasy to frame the descendants."
"This ritual is based on the principle that the surname, the forefather of the wizard family, combined with the name, is the shortest spell."
"So that each descendant can activate the corresponding blood in his body after being given a surname. I chose to marry Arthur, and I also used Arthur's surname to escape Prewett's fate," Molly revealed.
"What if you change your name?" Aiden asked.
"It's useless to change it privately. Only a surname that is old enough can cover the surname. Otherwise, the name given by our parents after birth is our identification code in this world."
"Now you understand how great your parents are, young man," Molly said with a wave. "Well, I've told you enough. You can go and look through the books on your own. You're the only one left in Prewett anyway."
Aiden stood up and left.
Molly asked again, "Wait, your dragon blood awakened so quickly, did you experience a lot of battles in school?"
Aiden paused in his steps.
"Ahem, Aunt, you know, I joined the school's duelling club, so..." Aiden tried to defend himself.
"Forget it. There are professors watching over us at school," Molly said seriously. "But you must remember not to be led by the dragon blood and become addicted to fighting and killing."
"Okay, I'll listen to you. You have the final say," Aiden said.
He ran out of the Burrow in a flash and came to the reed field next to it. He started looking for the gnomes.
At the familiar cave entrance, the number of gnomes guarding the gate had increased to six.
The gnomes had established a royal court and named their Gnome Kingdom... Gnomeregan, perhaps. The gnome that Aiden first encountered was now the king of this burgeoning gnome kingdom.
Aiden sent an order through the king to summon all the gnomes.
The originally empty reed field was now filled with gnomes of all sizes. A careful count revealed that their number had increased to as many as forty.
"This number is a bit dangerous," Aiden thought, touching his chin.
So Aiden hinted: "The ten in the front row, attack me."
The gnomes in the front row picked up sharpened branches, using them as crude spears. They charged at Aiden.
Aiden jumped lightly, somersaulting in the air.
His body, now much more agile and powerful than that of an ordinary person, allowed him to easily pass over the gnomes charging towards him.
"Hypnosis", Aiden said softly.
His eyes widened, and several gnomes' hands stabbed to the side uncontrollably. In the blink of an eye, ten gnomes were dead.
The gnomes' blood was flowing on the ground, and Aiden faced their remains with his wand.
"Ding, Dark Lord..."
"Shut up," Aiden said.
Then, Aiden implanted hints into the remaining gnomes one by one. He wanted to expand their desire for power.
"Gnomes, you have been ignored, marginalized, and lived in the corners of the world."
"But you have endless potential and power, just waiting to be awakened," Aiden said, his voice carrying a subtle enchantment.
"Imagine what the world would be like if you were in power."
Aiden's words were like an undercurrent, silently invading the gnomes' thoughts. The gnomes began to listen attentively, with eager gleams in their eyes.
"Power is a wonderful thing."
"It can free you from bondage and allow you to realize your own wishes," Aiden continued.
"With power, you can change your own destiny and even the world."
Aiden smiled, his voice becoming softer, as if he were sharing a profound secret with the gnomes.
"Remember, power is not an end but a means through which we can create the future we want."
"So tell me, gnomes, are you ready for a future filled with endless possibilities?"
The gnomes shouted in unison, the sound surprisingly deafening for their size. Their eyes were full of determination and resolve, as if they had seen the day when they would seize power.
Aiden stood aside with a smile. He had successfully guided this force in the direction he desired.
After doing all this, Aiden sent the gnomes back to their cave. He believed that before long there would be rebellions of varying sizes in the Gnome Kingdom, and the number of gnomes would be naturally curbed.
This time, Aiden got some data on his abilities from the test.
The first of which was that his abilities were further enhanced. The second was the combat hypnosis ability obtained after advancing to a Hypnotist.
Finally, the dragon-humanization ability produced by the interaction of dragon scales and blood gave Aiden the ability to fly.
The ability to launch a frontal attack has been enhanced, which was good news.
Thinking of this, Aiden took off his shirt, released his wings, and cast a Disillusionment Charm on himself.
He spread his wings and flew.
Flying with wings and flying with the aid of a broom are two completely different things. Every flap of the wings was accompanied by a powerful contraction and release of muscles, as if the rhythm of nature were dancing at his fingertips.
With every flap of his wings, the air seemed to become soft and elastic, flowing under Aiden's wings like the finest silk, gently pushing him upwards.
Aiden gradually left the ground, and the feeling of being restrained by gravity faded away, replaced by an unprecedented freedom. The view began to broaden, and the earth slowly unfolded under Aiden's feet, like an endless painting.
The clouds were no longer out of reach but friends within reach. He could fly among them and feel their moisture and coolness.
The sunlight shone on Aiden's wings, reflecting a dazzling light, making Aiden the brightest star in the blue sky.
