Chapter 4 - Dream again

"what just happen?"

...

He stared at the timer as it ticked away. Thirty minutes had already passed, leaving him with only 15.

"There was not much time."

Putting it away felt heavier than usual. Maybe it was because I was getting weak. Either way, I needed to find a store and a place to camp.

As he walked more, he found a store. A wound as big as a truck was on the building. It bled.

"A building type? That's new…" he pondered before walking into the building. The door was see-through, like any other store door. To be blunt, it was the most normal building he had seen besides his own. And in the end, it was just square, nothing fancy but at least practical, he thought.

Closing the door gently he took one of the shelves and sat it against the door. Making such nothing could get in or out, even himself.

He then walked to the first aisle, as he looked. The wall was a window now, making his barricading pointless. He sighed.

It wasn't there when he entered, but now it was.

"Right, that doesn't work…" he muttered, as he adjusted his collar. "Now, let's see what I need."

Water and food.

He glanced at the list, and his mouth dropped. He couldn't believe he had written this. One of his lists would have the names of what he needed and the quantity.

"We're watching…" the voice of a woman spoke, but it wasn't her voice. It was different. It wasn't sweet or cute, it was creepy.

He spun around, looking for who spoke. But no one was there.

He watched the counter up front and walked closer. It was a proteus, but what kind? Maybe they had transformed into something up there. Whatever it might be

"Who's there?! Come out now!" he paused, something was in the corner of his eye. The figure was small, child-like.

"You don't belong here…" the voice was old, husky and tired. Not one a child should have.

"how do I get out then?" For some reason, my voice cracked, and sweat engulfed my body. " Don't wanna be here, you know?"

It pointed behind him and said, "Look."

"Mhmmm, Ok." he said reluctantly.

Behind him where the aisle once stood was a cliff and its vast black sea. The sky was grey, its sun had died.

He watched as the water crashed against the rocks reaching higher and higher. He then fell, grasping the air as he did trying to hold onto something. Below him, a mouth slowly opened as he was being torn to pieces.

His arm shed as the bone pierced his skin. His screams were of who belongs to hell. Blood spewed out of his eyes. His body regenerated as he died over, over, over, over and over again.

He screamed for help, his voice breaking each time. His echoes vanished into the sunless sky.

"Help me… Help me… Help me… Help me…Help me… Help me… Help me… Help me… Help me Help me Help me Help me Help me Help me… Help me…Help me… Help me… Help me… Help me…Help me… Help me… Help me… Help me…Help me…" He repeated.

"Hehehe… if you want, I can't help myself." it was her, it was her voice. she glowed like light. Her body embodied it as if she was a saint. She gently grasped his face. As her hands warmed it, her whippers now soft as she spoke.

"Wake up, My Cerys."
