Amber deflected Stefan's long sword and even as it slid down the staff she was bring the lower portion around aimed low at his feet. She had actually done the move to see his step movement again. It was totally fascinating to her and she was becoming a bit obsessed with somehow learning it.
Stefan obliged and effortlessly moved out of reach of her staff. He was successful that time but he had quite a few bruises showing his past failures. Amber also had marks and cuts left by the long sword.
They had healed themselves easily after the hand to hand was done but they were allowing these wounds to remain. They had hoped that the spectators would get bored and leave but the crowd had not even thinned by a single person.
Amber again stopped his sword strike with her staff and they both went in for a lower body kick, their legs hit in an odd way and they both felt something pull. This they healed because they did not want to be hindered or give advantage to the other.
Stefan was having issues with the bout. He was actually enjoying himself and when he found himself lost in one of her moves or feeling awe about a technique she used an image of Alisa flashed across his mind. Both his heart and soul would quiver and he would feel an utter sense of shame. But he could get upset anymore. He was no longer driven by revenge but he refused to love this woman.
So why was he still here? Why had he not walked away yet?
He was not torn he was never torn but his soul demanded something that his heart couldn't give.
And suddenly, inexplicably, he wanted to be the Alpha of both Star Fire and Silver Moon. He had restricted Silver Moon from the ashes and gave it new purpose and made it look completely different. Amber had elevated Star Fire back to what it was when it was first created by her great great grandparents.
Together they would be unstoppable. He already claimed the form Dark Howl territories and reclaimed all of the Silver Moon territories so together they would control the entire southern region of the central continent.
He smirked to himself and quieted his wolf aspect. He would not be driven by instinctual desires. He would write his story and shape his destiny. Alisa would have her revenge.
As he thought his pace quickened and his strikes became stronger. Amber raised an eyebrow and watched him as he moved before her. Her wolf told him that he had worries he did not or could not reveal. She nodded to herself and met his aggression with her own.
She was going to show him her value. She already knew she was his. She had no shame in it and she was not ashamed of having to prove herself either, because this was the way of the wolf. The were wolf was more powerful but they were still just human beings with the souls of wolves. Somethings they could not help but fall in line with.
Amber was determined to show him that she was true and that she was the correct choice. They struck, Amber high and Stefan low. Pain ran down the length of their arms. Several of Stefan's arm bones cracked and the bones of Amber's hands did the same.
They looked at each other healed themselves and went to choose different weapons.
They fought with five different sets of weapons before they both chose whips and this is where they both showed they were evenly matched. Using the same weapons showed them their power levels, strength, and even techniques. They continually seemed to balanced each other, and they kept trying to prove that this was not true.
The crowd was still enthralled and they began making bets on exactly how long the fight would go on.
Adonis shook his head.
"They are both crazy."
"They are in love."
He heard the quality of his mate's voice and looked at her incredulously.
"We are in love. We are not like this." He couldn't keep the disgust from his voice.
"We are not Alphas love." She kissed his forehead hoping he could calm down. It worked but he still thought his brother and her new mate were insane.
Tar had a deep smile on his face. Tiffany had a slight smirk on hers. They were not sitting near each other but they were deep in conversation.
'We she get up there and Dave him.'
Tiffany scoffed. 'Save him from who, his self?'
Tar rolled his eyes. She was right.
'Besides he will be okay. They are too evenly matched.'
Evenly matched what fight was she watching?
Before she could reply to his thought her eyes widened and she sat forward.
"They are about done now." She said this both out loud and telepathically to her allies. The people around her looked at her like she was insane before they remembered who she was. They all suddenly knew that she was right and the fight was about to end.
They snapped their whips again and they both ended up with slashes across their faces. Another twist of the wrist and they both had whip marks diagonally across their torsos. Even as they moved to evade the marks turned out to be eerily the same.
Suddenly it became obvious to both of them they were using a vitality and mentality drain ability on each other. They pursed their lips at each other almost the same time.
"Why don't you just yield? You can clearly see that you can't beat me."
"Oh really? And have you as my mate? Besides why should I yield when you can not defeat me either?"
Stefan shrugged. "I am sure a tie is a defeat in your mind."
She scoffed amusedly. He was right. But the rules distinctly stated that he needed to beat her to win the role of her mate and second Alpha of Silver Moon Pack.
She was feeling defeated and petty, but there was still a beautiful smile on her face. How truly insane love was.
