Evelyn stopped in the foyer. She peeked around, spotting Agatha who was dusting the couch.
"Agatha," she whispered her name, calling.
Agatha straightened, turning around. She blinked in confusion. "Madam—"
"Shhh." Evelyn waved her over. "Come here."
Though she was perplexed, she walked over, regarding her with curiosity. Why was she sneaking? Who was she avoiding? The master?
"Is he home?" Evelyn asked.
"The master?"
"Yes, yes. Is he around?"
"Well…I'm not really sure. I-I didn't check as I've only just stepped out a few minutes ago. But I think he is. If not—"
"It's alright. Don't worry about it." She smiled at her, eyes reaching towards the stairs. It was safer than the elevator.
Taking a deep breath, Evelyn tiptoed her way towards the stairs and beelined for the bedroom. She halted at the door, pressed her ear against the cold wood to listen for any sign of Zayne.
But there was none.
