"I am going to open it," Yun Qiqi said, her loud voice echoing in the room.
She didn't wait for long and unraveled the box, putting her tiny hands inside to find something interesting.
"I found something," she exclaimed in surprise, and took a small, chewy treat out.
It was shaped like a miniature mystical beast—a nine-tailed fox, to be precise. It had orange, sugar-dusted tails and looked delicious.
"A fox?" Qiqi muttered in amazement.
Noa nodded with a curious smile, while Mia observed closely.
"You should try it first," the girl said, offering the older girl the first taste.
Mia gulped.
She touched the soft texture of the snack, gave it a cautious sniff, and then took a quick bite.
The fox melded instantly.
It made a soft pop sound on her tongue, followed by something fizzy and sour, like a jelly with cola flavor.
Suddenly, her brows twitched.
Then her hands started shaking, and her lips parted into a thin smile.
It was only the beginning.
