He stepped even closer this time and I took a frightened step back. My heart was thumping hard against my ribs and I was so afraid that I completely stopped breathing.
He kept coming forward, and I kept backing away, till my back was flattened against a wall. When he placed a hand on the spot above my head, I flinched, my heart flying into my throat at once.
This time, he let out a low chuckle as he grasped my chin and tilted my head up so our eyes locked.
"I'll never hurt you kitten, so there's no need to be frightened."
I swallowed emptily, blinking up at him for a moment before glancing away.
When I spoke this time, I didn't recognize my own voice. "So, I have to marry you, or lose my pack?"
