In the confusion of what was happening, my certainty suddenly surged. The enemy's eyes widened—shocked by the force of the blow flying toward his face.
But then, just as suddenly, the dark fog stopped flowing from my palm.My punch landed—but it felt like hitting a steel wall. No damage. Nothing.
In the next moment, I was thrown backward. My body slammed into the ground, and darkness swallowed my vision.Everything went black.
It felt like a week had passed—until I woke up.A blonde woman sat next to me on a chair, watching silently.
I blinked.A second glance confirmed it: Nya.Her eyes were wet with tears, her hands trembling as if she wanted to reach for me.
Not this woman… I groaned internally.
"How much time has passed?" I asked groggily.
"It's 12 p.m. right now. Why are you asking?"
"Because we have school tomorrow. Is Acno also here?"
"I'm glad you asked about her before looking around," Acno replied, angry.
"What's that supposed to mean? You're just angry because you can't get a girl. But Lutz was lucky to have me as his girlfriend," Nya said, cheeks turning red.
Hell no. I've got to get out of here, my mind screamed.
"I never said we were together. And more importantly—why are you here? Out of all people, you're the last person I expected."
"And that's where you're wrong," she said, crossing her arms."I'm here as a nurse assistant. It's part of my support class."
"Nurse assistant here and there, when can we leave this place?" Acno grumbled from the bed next to me.
"Your healing progressed well. You can both leave now—unless you're still in pain," Nya answered with a hint of reluctance.
The moment she finished her sentence, I stood up and headed for the exit.Acno joined me, and we walked side by side back to the dormitory. We chatted briefly about what had happened.
Acno turned out to be an unexpectedly genuine guy.A little rough around the edges, but authentic in his own way.Still, I could sense something boiling within him. A rage… growing stronger.
The following day felt like any other—starting with history class, followed by combat training, and finishing with magic class. But just before the final lesson, an urgent announcement echoed through the halls.
"There is an important message I must share. Please report immediately to the theater building."
Despite having slept only six hours, I dragged myself toward the building.Like the first day of school, a large crowd had already gathered.I returned to the same seat I chose back then—out of habit.
Seven minutes passed before the director stepped onto the stage, his face full of barely restrained fury.
"Today's agenda is short—but what I am about to say requires your full attention."
The room quieted instantly.
"You've all heard of the creation myths in history class—the deities, the balance of powers, the guardians of this world.""Well… yesterday's research has revealed something terrifying."
He paused. The air felt heavier.
"A deity has descended… on our planet."
Whispers broke out among the students.
"We don't know who or where they are. But we suspect one of two possibilities:""Either the Archangel Lucifer—or the Devil of Lust."
"Both," he said grimly, "possess enough power to wipe out this entire city in a single strike."
