"Are you brats trying to rebel against me?!" Whitebeard's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the sons who had surrounded him, his temper rising rapidly.
"Pops, it's not like we have a choice," Vista replied with a cheeky grin. "In the real world, even if we ganged up on you, we'd still lose. Now that we've finally got a chance to fight you, how could we resist? Besides, in a competition like this, we have to knock out the strong ones first, right? So… sorry, Pops! Hehehe."
"If I catch you in the real world, you little punk, I swear I'll ruin your precious flowers! I won't be Whitebeard if I don't!" Whitebeard glared at Vista's infuriating smirk, itching to smack him into the ground.
"Come on, Pops, stop resisting! This match is already in the bag!" Jozu shouted, charging in to lead the assault.
"Don't look down on me! I'm Whitebeard!" Despite facing the onslaught of his sons, Whitebeard let a small smile tug at his lips. If these little punks could actually take him down—even in a game—it would still make him proud.
"Heavenquake!"
Whitebeard threw a devastating punch. Though the game prevented any real casualties, nearly half of the attacking group was blasted away.
"Skyshatter!"
Unrestrained by reality, Whitebeard dove into the fray and unleashed his ultimate move. When his fists collided, massive spatial rifts tore open, engulfing everyone nearby.
Except for those with high HP, all the squishy players were instantly wiped out.
But after unleashing those two powerful moves, Whitebeard's abilities entered cooldown. Now, armed only with his naginata, he fought his sons in a desperate melee.
Surrounded by dozens, it was impossible for Whitebeard to win—but he still took a few of them down with him before falling.
"Pops is really something else…" Jozu muttered, wiping blood from his mouth with only half his health remaining.
"No kidding. We lost nearly ten people just to take him down. Kinda feels like a bad trade," sighed Thatch.
"But at least we took care of a major threat," Vista added from behind them. "You know how Pops is. He'd never go easy on us—not even in a game."
As they chatted, a system voice echoed from above.
Ding-dong... The Dragon King will descend in ten minutes. Defeating it grants rare equipment.
Ding-dong... The Endbringer will descend in ten minutes. Defeating it grants rare equipment.
"Well, things are about to get interesting," Rimuru murmured as he looked up at the sky. With his stats already maxed out, this was the perfect chance to get even stronger. Whether it was defeating those special bosses or taking down other players competing for loot, it was all fuel for growth.
"Rare equipment, huh? Lord Rimuru will definitely be there. I guess I'll join too," Shion said with a smile as she collected ingredients. She was already imagining the praise she'd get when Rimuru tasted her next dish.
"Rare loot, huh? Vista, Jozu—let's go stir things up! Those items belong to the Whitebeard Pirates!" Thatch shouted, riling up the crew.
"Victory is ours!!"
"Kallen, should we go too?" Otto asked calmly, turning to the woman beside him.
"Hm… better not. It's too dangerous. With our current strength, we'd just get wiped out," Kallen replied after a quick analysis.
"Then let's go farm mobs somewhere else. How about here?" Yae Sakura suggested nearby.
"Alright, let's go."
Ding-dong... The Dragon King has descended. Its location is now visible on the map.
Ding-dong... The Endbringer has descended. Its location is now visible on the map.
The ten-minute countdown expired. Two red markers appeared on everyone's maps, marking the bosses' locations.
More than half the players immediately rushed toward the red dots, eager to strike before someone else claimed the kill.
The map was huge, but travel wasn't a problem thanks to the wide variety of transport options—futuristic airships, motorcycles, magic carpets, flying brooms, and even dragons.
"Take this—Blossoms of War!"
Vista's twin swords danced in his hands, releasing waves of falling petals. Each delicate-looking petal left bloody trails across enemies, making quick work of his foes.
"Iron Fist—Falling Star!"
Just as Vista sheathed his blades, a massive fist came flying at him. Before he could react, it smashed him into the ground.
"Garp?!"
Jozu immediately shifted into his diamond form and rushed to intercept the legendary marine, shielding their damage dealers.
"Hey, Diamond boy. You do know the Navy isn't just me, right? Blocking me alone won't help," Garp said with a mischievous grin, making Jozu uneasy.
"Ever been kicked at the speed of light?"
Before Jozu could turn, he was hit square in the face by a blindingly fast kick—sent flying by Kizaru's trademark entrance.
"Speaking of Whitebeard… why is it just you kids here?" Garp glanced around, puzzled.
"Pops? You know what he's like. He'd never team up with others—not even us. So we had no choice but to take him down ourselves," Thatch said with a sigh. After all these years, they knew Whitebeard well. He was the lone-wolf type in situations like this. There was no way he'd fight alongside others. That's why they had to eliminate him first.
"You guys are something else," Garp muttered, wanting to tease them but realizing Whitebeard would act like that. He nodded in reluctant agreement.
"What about Marco? That phoenix should be tough to kill," asked Aokiji as he walked up.
"Don't even mention him. He messaged me earlier—first, Rimuru ambushed him in a bush and forced him to use his resurrection. Before his cooldown ended, Kiana and Mei took turns ambushing him again. Now he's completely out," Vista groaned. Some people were just born unlucky.
"Why don't you just surrender?" Kizaru suggested lazily. He wasn't big on fighting if it meant staying late—his philosophy was clock in, clock out.
"How about we settle this with a fight? What's the point of all this talking?" Akainu's gruff voice cut in, magma dripping from his body.
Thus began an alternate version of the full-scale war between the Navy and the Whitebeard Pirates—right in the middle of a chaotic game world.
