The crowd has thinned, but the buzz of the meeting still hangs in the air like static. Thalos Virellin stands awkwardly near the buffet table, fidgeting with his glass while stealing glances in Vaela's direction. He tries valiantly, but fails miserably, as he tries to look uninterested.
Vaela slowly approaches. Her every step ripples with calculated seduction and poise. She smiles at him softly and speaks with her voice low and sultry, her words curling into his ears like smokey whispers, cutting beneath the noise surrounding them.
"Sorry about earlier." she says, gently touching his elbow. "Those two peacocks can get a little… territorial."
Thalos snorts before casting another glare toward Kai and Lucien. The men, standing at the opposite side of the room, smirk back at him like co-conspirators.
"I've dealt with their types my whole life." Thalos mutters. "Big teeth, big muscles, even bigger egos."
