Chapter 14 - SCP - 015 "Pipe Nightmare"

SCP - 015 "Pipe Nightmare"

Object Class - Euclid

-----------------------------------------------------------

The three-person exploration team stood at the threshold of the old warehouse, the morning sun barely illuminating the tangled mass of pipes within. Dr. Maya Singh checked her GPS tracker and safety line, glancing at her colleagues—Agent Harris, tall and stoic, and Technician Lee, already sweating.

"Remember," Maya said, voice low, "no tools, no sudden moves, and absolutely no touching the pipes."

Lee swallowed. "You think it's… alive?"

Agent Harris shook his head. "Doesn't matter. We follow protocol, we get out."

They stepped inside. The air was thick with rust and something else—oil, maybe, or old blood. Pipes twisted overhead and underfoot, some gleaming, others oozing dark fluids. In the distance, a faint banging echoed, like someone knocking from deep within the metal maze.

As they moved deeper, Lee stopped, shining his flashlight on a pipe that looked disturbingly like bone.

"Is that—?" he began.

"Don't touch it," Maya snapped. "Just log it and keep moving."

Suddenly, a pipe above them groaned. Harris tensed, hand hovering over his sidearm.

"Easy," Maya warned. "No aggression."

A hiss of steam burst from a nearby vent. Lee jumped, nearly tripping over a smaller pipe that writhed away from his boot.

"Did you see that?" he whispered.

"I saw it," Harris muttered. "Just keep moving."

They reached a junction where the pipes converged into a massive, rusted boiler. The banging was louder now, unmistakably human.

"Help!" a voice echoed, muffled and desperate. "Please, someone—"

Lee's face went pale. "There's someone in there!"

Maya shook her head. "Or it wants us to think there is. We're not here for rescues."

The pipes around them began to vibrate. Oil dripped from a seam, pooling at their feet.

"Time to go," Harris said, voice tight.

As they turned, a pipe burst open, spraying a torrent of freezing seawater across the floor. Lee slipped, falling hard.

"Get up!" Maya shouted, grabbing his arm.

Pipes all around them began to groan and shift, as if the whole warehouse was breathing.

Dragging Lee, the team hurried back toward the entrance. Pipes burst one after another—glass shards, insects, and even a gush of what looked like ground bone.

"Don't run!" Maya yelled. "Stay calm!"

They reached the door just as a final pipe exploded behind them, rats pouring out in a squealing wave. Harris slammed the steel door shut, gasping for air.

Lee collapsed on the ground, shaking. "What the hell is this place?"

Maya looked back at the warehouse, the banging still echoing from within.

"It's SCP-015," she said quietly. "And it's always hungry."
