Chapter 57 - Chapter 57 Dungeon Logic

Alright, let's break down dungeon logic and how I'm using it before we dive into the next thing.

Pretty much everyone knows that in anime, novels, games, or whatever, dungeon and monster logic is kinda weird compared to regular wild monsters.

In some stories, wild monsters breed, have kids, and expand their species like normal. In others, monsters just get summoned or spawned out of nowhere in the wild. Some don't even bother explaining their origins, while others mash all these logics together—like this world, where I've run into both natural-born and spawned monsters. When I first got here, I was pretty confused, but once I saw this place as half-"game," it all clicked.

Now, let's talk dungeon logic in anime, novels, games, or stories. Like 70% of them don't explain how those monsters come back after being wiped out, or how items respawn… If they don't just gloss over it, they might mention dungeons forming in some way, with monsters popping up. But then they still don't explain if those dungeon monsters have free will, thoughts, or whatever… They just show up. (Not saying every story's like this, just that a lot are.)

Think about those stories where you tame a dungeon monster as a buddy, and it suddenly has a personality—complete with a cute voice actor in the anime!

This world's pretty clear: dungeons operate by spawning monsters at set intervals and numbers based on the dungeon's level, just like typical anime, manga, game, or novel dungeon logic! Yup! Super straightforward. Wonder why no one's ever questioned it, like it's just common sense…

Now, do these monsters have life, soul, or memories? In other stories, I'm not sure, but in this world, after copying and becoming a dungeon myself to spawn them, I figured it out.

Unless specified otherwise, every spawned monster has some life and soul of its own. (Does that mean if a monster dies, it's like a real life snuffed out?) They have instincts driven by higher-ranking monsters or the dungeon itself, with a collective mindset like corporate values, a religion, or a life goal—tied to the dungeon's rules.

If I were to write it as a stat example, it'd look something like this:

Dungeon Rules

Be friendly to intruders; monsters don't attack unless necessary.

Stay within the dungeon, never leaving their spawn floor.

No grudges or hatred; easily forget enemies who harm or flee.

Activate Emergency mode only when the dungeon itself is threatened.

[Status]

See that? Even if it's the same Bat or Dubat, their mindset and actions shift slightly depending on the dungeon. Different monster leaders mean different followers, too. Plus, the dungeon's self-defense system can upgrade and control monster thoughts and behaviors.

From this angle, some monsters lack a soul and just move based on orders from higher monsters or the dungeon itself…

Items? They range from treasures that pop up in the dungeon to boss drops, depending on how the dungeon rolls.

This is why dungeons are kinda like living beings themselves, like trees, maybe? They have survival instincts, "shedding leaves" by spawning monsters, "feeding" off adventurers' HP/MP losses, and blending into this world's ecosystem.

That's the deal. I've learned a ton by becoming a dungeon myself.

Yup…

The coolest part? A lot of my powers don't just cross servers—they go undetected! Probably because the system lets dungeons run themselves. Thank you, dungeon logic!

Rumble! Splash~~~

Creak! Crack!

"Hey!!! There's a kid hiding in the barrel!"

"Eek!?"

"Hey, come out, come out! If you're sneaking here, join us—it's dangerous, kid!"

"S-S-Sorry, I, uh…"

"Yeah, yeah, we get it. Stowaway, right? No biggie, come on out! We hitched a free ride too."

"What's that? Oh, a rookie adventurer looking for a big break, huh?"

"Uh… yeah, looking for a big break, yup!"

"Ho! Tiny kid, but bold as heck, little missy!"

"No need to risk hiding like that, sweetie. This trip's got tons of monsters—plenty of food to go around. Come, join us!"

And so, Munta got caught… Pretty sneaky, huh? Next up, let's spawn some dungeon bodies and get rolling!
