Chapter 70 - Chapter 70 – Sasuke!

Chapter 70 – Sasuke!

Sasuke's going to apply for early graduation too?

Ryosuke didn't expect that his own presence would disrupt the timeline this badly. Because of his anomaly, everything was falling apart faster than he'd anticipated. Both of the story's main characters were now graduating six years ahead of schedule. That alone sent the entire canon spiraling off course—and Ryosuke could no longer predict what that meant for the future.

In the original timeline, the main plot spanned only four or five short years. Naruto graduated from the Academy at twelve, and by the time the Fourth Great Ninja War ended, he was only around fifteen or sixteen. But now… the future was a complete mess.

Still, despite the chaos, Ryosuke wasn't bothered. In fact, he was even more excited than before.

Unless…

Unless his Byakugan developed new abilities, there was no way he could keep up with or predict what would happen next.

But that didn't dampen his spirits at all.

If anything, the unpredictability made him feel even more alive.

---

During lunch break, Ryosuke and Hinata sat together on the rooftop, enjoying the soft breeze. His gentle smile hadn't faded once since they got there.

That calm, composed expression he always wore—it was a mask, really. A mask even more practiced than Hinata's shy, indifferent act in front of others.

But Hinata wasn't easily fooled.

"You seem to be in a good mood," she said quietly.

She could always sense the small changes in Ryosuke's demeanor. Even if the smile on his face never wavered, Hinata had learned to tell when it was real and when it wasn't. She'd seen his true smile before—just once—but it was enough.

"Something interesting happened," Ryosuke replied with a chuckle, turning to face her. "During the match I watched, I noticed Uchiha Sasuke's strength. He should be able to graduate without any problems."

He paused, letting the thought linger before adding, "Like I said before… every time someone breaks away from their destined path and heads into uncharted territory, it reminds me that I'm real. That I'm here."

Hinata blinked, confused by his words.

"…Forget it," Ryosuke said with a soft smile, shaking his head. "You'll understand eventually."

He was about to continue speaking, but then—

Something changed.

Chakra surged wildly through his body, completely out of control. It rushed toward his eyes, flooding his sockets in a wave that left him stunned. His expression froze. Under the pressure of that sudden burst of chakra, his Byakugan activated involuntarily.

---

"Help… someone help!"

"Get them out of there!"

"Water Style: Water Dragon Bullet!"

"Why won't it go out?! What is this black flame?!"

Shouting. Screaming. The chaos of battle.

It hit Ryosuke like a dream—vivid, yet disconnected. There was no transition, no explanation, no context. One second, he was sitting with Hinata on the Academy rooftop. The next, he was in the middle of a living nightmare.

A disaster.

A hell made of black fire.

The flames bloomed like cursed flowers, spreading from where Ryosuke stood. The ground around him was a wasteland—shattered buildings, thick smoke, panicked villagers. Ninja ran back and forth, trying to save whoever they could from the wreckage.

Ryosuke looked around, taking it all in.

Even though the scene was foreign, he recognized the setting. A battered and broken sign nearby—only half of it remaining—still bore the words:

Ichiraku Ramen.

Konoha... This is Konoha.

His first instinct was: an illusion.

But… no. The stench of blood. The choking smoke. The pain in the air. Everything was too real, too sharp. It wasn't an illusion. If anything, it was a dream—but one he was completely aware of.

A lucid dream.

---

"Sasuke!!"

A furious roar echoed from behind.

Ryosuke spun around.

In the distance, a massive purple Susanoo towered over the village, a colossal chakra blade raised high. Its target—the Hokage Building.

Inside the spectral warrior, Ryosuke spotted Sasuke.

But… this wasn't the Sasuke he knew.

He was older, his face cold and twisted with rage. A deep scar ran across his cheek. Blood streamed from his eyes like crimson tears. His expression radiated hatred.

Hatred for the village.

Just as Ryosuke turned to locate the source of the voice shouting Sasuke's name—

The vision shattered.

The world broke apart like glass, and he was suddenly hit with a rapid succession of images. A slideshow, flickering frame by frame.

---

"Ryosuke?"

Hinata's voice brought him back.

She had stood up, alarmed by the sudden change in his expression. Her white eyes scanned the area, alert and cautious.

But nothing seemed out of place.

Down below, students napped in the classroom. Others trained at the field, sparring or chatting. Everything looked the same as it had before.

Only Ryosuke was different.

He sat motionless on the bench, drenched in cold sweat. Still and silent.

Hinata looked at him, worried. "Ryosuke…"

Suddenly, he jerked slightly—snapping back to reality.

Fifty-eight seconds.

That number echoed in his mind. That's how long he'd been immersed in that vision.

Ever since the first time he entered that strange state, he'd been waiting for it to happen again. And now it had.

Looking at Hinata, Ryosuke forced a shaky smile.

"I'm fine," he said. "I just saw… something weird."

Hinata didn't press him.

She sat quietly beside him, sensing that something had happened but choosing not to push for answers. Her silent presence was enough.

And Ryosuke appreciated that more than she knew.

Still, his mind was racing.

The vision… the fire… Sasuke's face…

It was similar to when he'd accessed the "god's perspective"—when he saw the world like a game board. But unlike before, where the memory faded afterward, this time he remembered everything.

Could it be…?

A glimpse into the future?

There were rumors—legends, really—of the Byakugan awakening a power that allowed the user to perceive the future. It had been seen in the Otsutsuki clan.

But it was abstract. Untouchable. Nothing like the solid power of illusions or chakra suppression.

That's why Ryosuke had never seriously tried to develop it.

Until now.

It had activated on its own. Triggered by the massive disruption in fate caused by Sasuke's sudden graduation.

But the vision hadn't brought hope. Only dread.

"That Sasuke… I couldn't tell how old he was, but it didn't seem too far in the future," Ryosuke muttered to himself.

"That voice yelling his name… that wasn't Naruto. His voice is different. Though I guess it could have changed with age."

"He's going to attack the village… he must have learned the truth about the Uchiha Massacre."

"And those eyes… he hasn't awakened the Eternal Mangekyō yet."

Ryosuke sat still, the cold breeze brushing over his skin. His heart, however, felt anything but calm.
