Chapter 3 - chapter 3

Ruby, joined the company as a marketing coordinator in the HR department, unaware that the CEO of the company was David, whom she would soon encounter. On her first day, she was nervous but excited to meet her new colleagues. As she was introduced to the team, she heard about David's reputation as a successful and respected leader.

The next day, Ruby arrived at the office building and rushed to the elevator. However, she didn't know that the elevator she entered was only for the CEO, and the employees' elevator was on the other side. The elevator was occupied by a handsome stranger, none other than David, with his secretary William. Ruby pressed the 13th floor, and as the elevator opened, she left, unaware that David's office was on the 15th floor.

Ruby and David moved in opposite directions, with Ruby heading to her marketing team and David entering his office. Ruby's marketing team and manager were very happy with her work.

On her next day, Ruby had a lot of work to do and had to stay late to complete it. As the time has passed, the whole office emptied, and Ruby was the only one left working. Feeling sleepy, she rushed downstairs to grab some coffee. She went to the coffee shop, grabbed a cupof coffee, and entered the company just as it started raining. Thinking she had luckily avoided getting drenched, she stepped into the elevator.

However, she accidentally pressed the 15th floor, and the elevator stopped at David's office floor. Ruby thought it was the 13th floor and left the elevator, entering the office. The office designs were similar, and she didn't notice the difference. as she is walking in office, the lights went out due to the rain, and suddenly she heard some sounds from a cabin.

She was scared, Ruby walked silently and on trouch from her mobile phone, trying to locate the where the sound is coming. The heavy rain and thunder strikes outside made the situation more intense. Ruby found the cabin where the sound was coming from and entered it. What ?she saw a man that shocked her - David, the CEO, was sitting in the corner, scared of the rain, crying and breathing heavily due to his PTSD problem. but, ruby is unaware that he is the ceo of the company.

Ruby watched him with concern and compassion, unsure of what to do next. She slowly approached David, trying not to startle him. "Hello?" she said softly. "Are you okay?" David didn't respond, too caught up in his own world. Ruby hesitated for a moment before sitting down next to him. "Hey, it's okay," she said gently. "You're safe." David slowly looked up, his eyes red and puffy. Ruby's heart went out to him, and she reached out to touch his hand.

As David's eyes locked onto Ruby's, he felt a sense of calm wash over him. For the first time in a long time, he felt like he could breathe again. Ruby's presence was calming, and her gentle touch was soothing. David's grip on Ruby's hand tightened, and he looked at her with gratitude. "Thank you for being here," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. Ruby smiled and nodded, her eyes filled with understanding.

As they sat in the cabin, David's grip on Ruby's hand tightened. "Ruby, I need to tell you something," he said, his voice low and serious. Ruby looked at him, sensing a change in his tone. "What is it, David?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

David hesitated, his eyes scanning the surroundings as if he was checking for potential listeners. "It's about my PTSD," he said finally, his voice filled with a mix of anxiety and determination. "It's not just about the rain. It's about something that happened a long time ago."

Ruby's curiosity was piqued. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice gentle.

David took a deep breath, his eyes locked onto Ruby's. "It's about my childhood," he said, his voice cracking. "When I was 6 years old, my parents died in a car accident. It was a rainy day, just like today. The thunder was loud, and I remember feeling so scared."

Ruby's heart went out to David. She could imagine how traumatic that experience must have been for him.

David's eyes dropped, and he shook his head. "I was in the car with them," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I remember the sound of the rain hitting the windshield, the smell of the wet leather seats. And then...and then everything went black."

Ruby's grip on his hand tightened. "I'm so sorry, David," she said, her voice filled with compassion.

David looked at her, his eyes searching for something. "It's not just the accident that haunts me," he said, his voice low and measured. "It's the memories that I've tried to suppress. The rain, the thunder...it all brings it back. The feeling of being trapped, of being helpless."

Ruby's heart ached for David. She knew that he was still struggling to come to terms with what had happened. And she was determined to be there for him, no matter what.

As they sat in the office, the silence between them grew thicker. Ruby could sense the weight of David's secrets, and she knew that she had to be patient. She had to let him open up to her, in his own time.

Ruby couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. David's story had raised more questions than answers. And she couldn't help but wonder what other secrets he was hiding.

Ruby couldn't help but feel that David's past was still haunting him. And she was determined to help him face it, no matter what it took.

As the minutes ticked by, Ruby and David sat in comfortable silence, their hands still clasped together. The rain continued to pour outside, but inside, they had found a sense of peace and calm. They knew that they still had a long way to go, but for now, they were content to simply be together.

David looked at Ruby, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you," he said again, his voice a little stronger now. Ruby smiled and shake hand with him. "You're welcome," she replied. "I'm here for you, David Sir ."

And with that, Ruby and David's journey together began.
