Riley didn't even feel much guilt actually, despite fully realising what he had done.
Not even with the village in shambles, the air still heavy with the stench of blood and smoke, and all the notifications of dead NPCs and players flashing before him.
A part of him couldn't help but feel it was necessary.
Like he had only done what needed to be done. He had been hungry, and needed to consume something, so all he had done was eat.
It was that simple. The only thing that made it embarrassing was how he lost his mind while doing so.
He exhaled slowly, a low chuckle escaping his lips as he stared blankly at sky.
"I'm really starting to lose my human side," he muttered.
He didn't know how he felt about that.
On one hand, he was getting stronger—evolving with every monster and person he consumed. On the other hand… he might not even recognize himself if this went on.
