Chapter 59 - WRAPPING UP IN NAIROBI AND THE QUIET THAT COMES WITH IT

AVA'S POV

It was my fourth and final morning in Nairobi, and though my body longed for rest, my mind was still racing through numbers, names, and timelines.

Every minute I spent here made it clearer that our impact couldn't end with emergency relief.

The needs were systemic, generational, and deeply intertwined with infrastructure, education, and opportunity.

The temporary foundation outpost had become a buzzing command hub.

Every wall was pinned with charts, funding flow diagrams, and rough drafts of long-term intervention plans.

Melanie had joined virtually just after sunrise, her face tired but focused on the screen.

"We need to lock in the three main local NGOs today," she reminded me, as I wrapped my scarf and prepared to head out. "The ones with the strongest accountability records."

"I've already scheduled back-to-back site visits," I told her. "We'll finalize the MOU drafts before sunset. I want all three signed before I leave tomorrow."
