Chapter 27 - CHAPTER 27

c27: Kim Nam's Anger

As the sun sets, the afterglow of the sun shines through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the office on the top floor of the Fisk Tower, and illuminates the figure like Roshan sitting on a special luxurious office chair an architectural marvel funded by questionable lobbyists and corrupt real estate syndicates under Wilson Fisk's direct control.

Under the faint golden light of the skin reflecting the sunlight, the majestic face of this character appeared a face that's been the subject of many urban legends passed among frightened street-level criminals.

Not presumptuous, and this face alone can scare many children into tears even Jason Todd once warned a group of young vigilantes that if you ever meet this guy in a white suit, run first and talk later.

He is bald and has no hair, is wearing a white suit, is over two meters tall and weighs over two hundred kilograms—yet every inch of his weight is controlled and dangerous, like a gorilla bred for warfare.

But it seems that he is not the kind of big fat man who is full of fat and puffy the man once crushed the skull of a seasoned hitman from the Maggia using nothing but the pressure of a single hand during an interrogation.

Under the white special suit, there seems to be a huge amount of astonishing muscles hidden, like a long dragon entrenched all over the body, implying this powerful and unmatched power the kind of brute force that let him hold his own against the Punisher, and once even throw Spider-Man through reinforced concrete.

He is Jin Bin, Wilson Grant Fisk, the Kingpin of Crime the emperor of the New York underworld and the shadow puppeteer behind half of North America's organized crime networks.

Fisk Tower is the nest of Golden Union, located on the border of Hell's Kitchen, bordering Brooklyn a strategic position that lets him oversee both Daredevil's territory and the less-guarded access routes through Queens, just across the East River from Spider-Man's neighborhood.

Even Kim Nam doesn't like that his residence is completely located in the chaotic Hell's Kitchen known not only for gang wars but also as the hunting ground of Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, who Fisk has fought for years in a brutal game of cat and mouse.

At this moment, Jin Bin was sitting there, looking down at the video playing on the computer in front of him a Stark-tech custom monitor intercepted through encrypted SHIELD data, rerouted by one of Fisk's embedded hackers in Oscorp.

The content of the video is a scene where a blond young man is beating a villain the young man has long blonde hair and a white imperial robe fluttering in the wind like Asgardian ceremonial garb, though he is no son of Odin. He is holding a weird weapon named Kunai modified with Pym Particles for enhanced piercing and kinetic absorption.

Although the villains who were beaten up were far from being the opponents of the blond youth, they were very arrogant each one enhanced by illegal serum derived from remnants of Dr. Erskine's Super Soldier formula, stolen from a Hydra cache. While being beaten, they yelled: "Smelly boy, we are bosses of Jinhui, don't be too arrogant!"

However, the blond youth ignored him, and even his eyes did not change a gaze colder than Red Hood's when dealing with Black Mask's syndicate, yet with the calm fury of someone trained under both Elektra and Taskmaster.

He didn't speak, but directly turned into golden light a phenomenon reminiscent of the Nova Corps' light-speed movement tech and instantly knocked down the villains, beat them to the ground with bruised nose and swollen face.

There is no doubt that this is exactly what Ryan Wong played as a wave of wind and water a display of tactical efficiency and unrelenting psychic force empowered by residual cosmic energy exposure during a failed attempt by SHIELD to harness the Quantum Bands.

This video was taken two days ago. At that time, Ryan Wong was still working hard to get the progress of the Bo Feng Shuimen performance replicating a time-space displacement technique derived from theoretical notes found in the Xavier Institute's restricted archive. For this reason, he accepted the task of SHIELD and was working hard under Nick Fury's covert orders to test a prototype Hero Initiative protocol, parallel to the Young Avengers program.

At that time, he met these villains after he separated from Natasha who was tasked with eliminating a Red Room splinter group operating out of Midtown and had briefed Ryan just before disappearing into shadow.

Ryan Wong didn't make any provocations or other actions he just walked past the people and wanted to buy a cone, quietly observing the neon lights flickering over Nelson & Murdock's law office from across the street.

Unexpectedly, the other party saw the Bo Feng Shuimen cloak not pleasing to his eyes thinking it was some Daredevil cosplay stunt, so he directly stopped him and provoked an amateur mistake considering how close they were to Hell's Kitchen turf.

So Ryan Wong didn't talk nonsense, and beat them backhand violently even if they reported the name of Kingpin himself, Wilson Fisk—they didn't plan to stop halfway.

After all, Ryan was planning to clean up the entire Hell's Kitchen at the beginning ever since Nick Fury gave him carte blanche on "Operation Urban Sweep" and Kingpin's forces were always within the scope of that cleanup.

It's like, would you be afraid that one of your chickens will explode the name of another rooster? especially when both are sitting in the same coop, and you're holding the cleaver.

However, others who are not aware of this situation do not think so the average street thug still believes shouting Kingpin's name works like a magic ward against pain.

There were several other people in the office on the top floor of the Fisk Tower but without exception, no one dared to bother Kingpin at this moment.

The long silence did not bring peace, but as if a deeper darkness eroded the sunlight and enveloped everyone in the office—the kind of pressure that Batman's rogues gallery talks about when describing Bane's presence, except this came with a Wall Street diploma and ten political donors.

"I wonder if I've dormant in the dark for too long, causing people to forget the meaning of the name Wilson Fisk?"

Clura, the huge figure of Kingpin, uttered these words in a low voice—a voice calm enough to paralyze even someone like Lex Luthor into silence when discussing inter-city turf expansion.

"No! Your name has always been circulating in the dark and everyone has surrendered to your shadow!" the man in black tactical tights responded quickly—he was one of Kingpin's enhanced operatives, formerly part of the failed Thunderbolts Initiative.

"Then why is there such a guy who ignores and provokes my reputation?" Kingpin's voice became fierce—the kind of fury that once made Bullseye flinch and Elektra raise an eyebrow.

Although the videos of Bo Feng Shuimen violently beating the Hulk and Red Hulk had already been uploaded to YouTube an event caught during a crossfire near Harlem under the intervention of S.H.I.E.L.D., such videos had been partially blocked.

At that time, after Ryan Wong learned of this situation, he held S.H.I.E.L.D. accountable but after S.H.I.E.L.D.'s explanation, he did not continue to struggle he knew when to fight and when to collect receipts.

Without him, S.H.I.E.L.D. gave too much money a literal hush payment disguised as a freelance cleanup operation bonus.

A trivial matter that didn't affect Ryan at all when the S.H.I.E.L.D. bureau apologized, it directly gave a check for 500,000 USD. It was really rich Fury's black budget came from sources even Tony Stark refused to audit.

However, this check could only be used after it was exchanged for money so it was not approved by the System Mall embedded in Ryan's HUD interface Stark-designed, Xandar-coded, and synced with a StarkLink AI that refused any unverified fund source.

The reason S.H.I.E.L.D. did this was not because they didn't want to see Bo Feng Shuimen famous—but because they felt that this was too public and it would be more effective to secretly use Bo Feng Shuimen as a deep-cover killer, similar to how the Red Room used Yelena Belova before her defection.

In addition, they also asked a special effects company one of Quentin Beck's old illusion partners to come forward, saying that the circulated images were movie special effects and let everyone look forward to the fake blockbuster Ninja vs. Giant that might be released next year, a "lost Sony-Marvel crossover event."

Therefore, many people who didn't know believed this explanation after all, the official testimony came forward, and when the Daily Bugle refuses to touch it, people assume it's true.

The same is true for Kingpin and others although he is about to become the next mayor of New York, Fisk has not yet been granted access to top-tier cosmic-level intel something only the Illuminati and the World Security Council are briefed on.

While speaking, Fisk stood up his huge body cast a massive shadow across the room. The massive size far beyond ordinary people and the distinct muscle lines under the white suit made him look dark and destructive like a gamma-irradiated gladiator in Armani.

The person who had just spoken to Kingpin immediately got up and said at the same time: "Although I don't know how that guy can flash around I think he's just an insignificant little guy" words foolish enough to make Deadshot snicker from Arkham's walls.
