Chapter 47 - 047:- Late Morning Walks

Silvan woke up a few hours later to the door opening. Alessio stood sheepishly behind the door, peering into the room, his black hair tangled from sleeping with his trinkets on. That was his cue to rise to his feet, stumbling a bit.

Alessio stepped into the room, "I apologize for stealing your bed last night."

Silvan waved off his apology, he truly didn't mind. He had gotten some of the best sleep ever on the Vampire's bed. He would mention getting his bed scented to Queen Nadia, the Vampire Queen was extremely efficient.

He pushed the conversation he had with her earlier that morning to the darkest recesses of his mind, returning to his room to clean up. His bed was neatly arranged when he stepped in, and for a moment, he thought that Alessio had been the one to do the chore. It wasn't until he saw the steaming, scented bath prepared for him that he put the puzzles together.

Silvan stared at the healthy flush on his face as he combed out his hair at the dresser. Sleeping in this morning had come rather easy, if his bed was scented, maybe he could squeeze in a nap after lunch.

He dressed in all black, from his dress shirt to his overcoat, a blinding diamond in his cravat. He slicked back his gold blond hair, starting to adapt to dressing in the manner befitting his title.

Despite taking his time, he was already all dressed by noon, sitting down by the fireplace to pick at the light but late breakfast provided for him.

Silvan was curious about what Alessio was getting up to, he could picture the Vampire going right back to sleep, in his own bed this time.

He shot to his feet, a short while later, barely eating. He could just stop by Alessio's room for company, after their conversation the night before, he was no longer as averse to the Vampire Prince.

He knocked politely at the door and waited, deciding that if he didn't get a response, he would go on a walk. He wasn't terribly hungry, and he wanted to preserve his appetite for lunch in a few hours.

There was a brief rustle behind the door, then it swung open to Alessio. The Vampire Prince's hair was still damp, like he had just stepped out of the bath. He was fully dressed, in a manner of speaking, only wearing a ruffled gold dress shirt and pants.

"Were you able to get any sleep last night?" Alessio asked with genuine worry and a hint of guilt, stepping back to invite Silvan in.

He had remembered most of what happened last night, especially the part where he went to Silvan's bed instead of leaving for his room. The human Prince didn't seem upset, his dark-hued clothes a tad intimidating.

Silvan had slept in Alessio's room for a night, so he was starting to get more familiar with it, heading right to Alessio's favorite couch to pilfer some grapes. "I was."

Alessio sighed in relief, walking off to run a brush through his long hair. It had taken forever for the maids to detangle and get the crystal trinkets out of his hair. "That's a relief. I seem to be able to sleep anywhere, but I was worried I had stolen a good night's sleep from you..."

"I was about to go on a walk," Silvan diverted the conversation, knowing that Alessio would continue to worry about their sleeping arrangements last night, if he didn't.

Alessio placed his brush down with a smile, in a great mood, even though his scalp was sore. "Can I come with you?"

Silvan generously agreed, it was why he had come here anyway.

Alessio walked off to grab an embroidered red and gold waistcoat, putting it on with ease. "Do you want to walk inside the castle or out?"

Silvan hadn't thought about that, it didn't matter much to him, but he would like to learn his way around the castle as soon as possible. "Inside."

Alessio nodded, approving of his choices. A walk first thing after waking up, would have never been his go-to, but he didn't even mind. "Maybe we can stop by Luka's room," He murmured, reminded of the existence of his friend.

Silvan looked up from the bowl of grapes, tossing a handful of grapes in his mouth and chewing down. Each juicy grape spilled in a burst of flavor, darkening his tongue.

"...He didn't return after providing assistance for Cielo Bianci," He went on, "Perhaps I could invite him to lunch as well."

The only thing that caught Silvan's attention was the mention of Cielo's name. "Will Cielo Bianci come to lunch, as well?"

Alessio walked up, all dressed now, his drying hair curling up slightly at the edges. "Certainly. Brother will definitely invite his betrothed, and Luna Bianci is bound to invite Cielo."

There was a chance, however, that Cielo might turn down the invitation, but Alessio didn't mention that. It was just a simple lunch with a few people, Cielo was more likely to come for it.

Silvan rose to his feet as well and started for the door. He hadn't gotten a chance to speak to Cielo last night, so he would try to make up for it at lunch. He didn't care much for Luka, but that didn't mean he would ignore the other's actions.

Being very careful around the resentful noble Vampire was a given, he would just let the other bore himself out, because retaliating seemed to be just what Luka was hoping for.

Their walk started on a familiar route, the grand hall was roughly at the center of the castle, the courtroom a short distance away. This was for ease of access to the two rooms, which were used by most people quite frequently.

Silvan knew he wouldn't be able to commit to memory the entire pathways and hallways that connected the grand castle, but today was merely a start.

As they walked down a hallway of statues, Alessio slowed down and approached a completely random statue holding a scepter. "This is a secret passage that leads underground." He whispered to Silvan, pushing down on the scepter.

The statue creaked and then slowly spun to the side, with the platform it was on and the wall behind it, revealing a hallway behind it.
