Chapter 47 - Comic Store and Problem

Later, Jimmy regretted taking the initiative to talk to Veronica. Not only did he have to listen to her story, but he also had to promise her that he wouldn't tell anyone.

As if he had the desire to waste his time on things like that.

But truth be told, Jimmy did enjoy talking to pretty girls a little. There were things he noticed, and maybe some he didn't.

Veronica, who found out that Jimmy wasn't from Texas, asked, "What does it feel like to live here?"

Jimmy thought for a moment while looking at his watch and replied, "It's not bad. At first, I thought it wouldn't be interesting, but with the way I live, I think it's ideal for me."

"Ha ha ha, many wouldn't say that." Veronica wasn't the only one who wanted to leave this place and go to a big city. Living in rural areas, the only thing one wants after a certain time is to leave and see the world.

But there are other kinds of people who don't think the same.

Jimmy, on the other hand, was grateful to have a place where he could extend his research without drawing attention. Also, at least here, people didn't ask more questions than they should.

There was a limit that any Texan respected to avoid getting involved in someone else's problems.

"Where do you want to go now? I can take you there."

"Well..." Jimmy thought about Sheldon's condition at noon and asked, "Do you know where there's a comic store? Drop me off there."

Jimmy knew that if no one intervened, Sheldon's "anorexia" would last a long time.

Maybe he hadn't noticed at first, but he received a medical report from Baymax telling him about Sheldon's condition, and it was truly concerning.

According to the recommendations, if Jimmy wanted Sheldon to eat solid food again after his trauma with the sausage, some special methods were required.

It just so happened that Jimmy knew that superhero stories in comics could give Sheldon the courage to overcome his trauma.

For Jimmy, some athletes were his motivational figures to keep training despite how boring it was. For Sheldon, something simple like a comic book superhero would be more than enough.

"Are you sure you want to go to the comic store?" Veronica turned her head and looked at Jimmy uncertainly.

"Yeah, I'm sure." Jimmy saw no problem with it and nodded.

Then, following Veronica's directions, they arrived at a comic store that Jimmy had never heard of before.

Jimmy let his dog do whatever it wanted and entered the store with curiosity.

After walking around the comic store, Jimmy picked two suitable superhero comics and left.

...

At dinnertime, Jimmy visited Sheldon at his mother's request.

As expected, the Cooper family had found out that Sheldon wasn't eating.

Looking at the lunch that Sheldon had brought intact, Mary, anxious, was considering whether to take little Sheldon to see a psychiatrist.

"You're making a fuss over nothing. When he's really hungry, he'll remember to eat," George observed Mary's affectionate gaze and felt she was exaggerating a bit.

"Sheldon is so small, how is it possible that he's not eating? You don't care about your family at all..." Connie felt sorry for her little grandson and began criticizing George.

"Don't you have a home?"

"George!" Mary was indignant at this senseless argument when it was clear what they should do.

Seeing the adults arguing again about little Sheldon, George Jr. and Missy could only watch from the side.

As for Sheldon, he was a little overwhelmed being caught between his parents.

"What happened?" Jimmy felt that the atmosphere wasn't right when he entered. He walked over to Missy and George Jr. and asked softly.

"It's because little Sheldon refuses to eat..." Missy was somewhat dissatisfied with the excessive attention her parents paid to little Sheldon's behavior.

Mary was very proud of Sheldon for his high intelligence. In life, naturally, the youngest child receives more preferential treatment.

In comparison, the other two children in the Cooper family would be unconsciously excluded. Not only Mary, but even Grandma Connie sometimes paid more attention to little Sheldon.

Seeing the expressions of the two children, Jimmy smiled and asked, "Do you want ice cream?"

"Are you paying?"

Jimmy smiled proudly and said, "I'm developing sugar that doesn't harm your health, trust me, you could eat kilos of sugar and not die."

"That's amazing, but I'll take care of that." Connie, who had come closer to greet Jimmy, didn't really care about this discussion.

"Really?" Missy seemed happy.

But she didn't even realize that what she probably wanted wasn't ice cream but more freedom.

The same situation happened to George Jr., who was sixteen. After comforting the two little ones, Grandma Connie headed to the dining table.

Instead of trying to stop Mary and George from arguing, she took the blender and put in the lunch that little Sheldon had brought at noon.

After a while, a glass with a sandwich and hot dog juice was placed in front of Sheldon.

Sheldon was simply worried that the food would get stuck in his throat again and had no objection to liquid food.

Watching the little one drink the special food juice, Grandma Connie, who had handled everything, applauded generously.

The problem was solved, and Mary stopped criticizing her husband.

Taking advantage of the moment, Jimmy placed the comic he had prepared in front of little Sheldon.

Then the family began to have dinner.

Sheldon, who had just drunk the juice, was momentarily lost. Finally, he fixed his eyes on the comic in front of him.

While the others ate, Sheldon became immersed in the hero's story.

In comics, each hero has to go through various difficulties before achieving success and overcoming their own weaknesses.

This is where the hero shines.

Sheldon, who fantasized about becoming a superhero, began to reflect on himself. Over time, he realized that if he wanted to be a hero, he needed to overcome his fear of eating solid food.

After a mental struggle, the heroic dream finally triumphed over the fear.

Then, to everyone's surprise, Sheldon grabbed a sausage covered in sauce, put it in his mouth, and began chewing it forcefully.

"Son, what's wrong with you?" Mary exclaimed.

"From now on, please call me The Man of Steel." Sheldon was still immersed in the feeling of being a hero, and a smug smile appeared unconsciously on his face.

"He must be crazy..." Missy looked at Sheldon. Then her attitude changed, and she asked Jimmy, "Would you like to go eat ice cream with me tomorrow?"

"Of course, I can treat you to strawberry ice cream..." Jimmy said, feeling that there was no problem with this.
