Vince suddenly woke up from his terrible dream; he just scratched his head.
Fernan, I know we need to take action because your memories are slowly fading away. He thought to himself, got up, and looked at the clock; it was three o'clock in the afternoon. He quickly fenced off; he needed to prepare what he needed before going back to the warehouse.
When he stepped out of his room, he found Thalia there, looking at the map again while peering out of a window that overlooked the entire forest.
Thalia noticed him, so she turned to him; she didn't speak while holding the map he had given her.
He sat at the table, knowing that there was leftover food from earlier. He furrowed his brow.
Did we have visitors earlier? He wondered in his mind because he saw many plates and utensils washed by his sibling.
"Were there any visitors earlier while I was sleeping?" He turned to Thalia.
"Yes," Thalia answered him briefly.
"Who?" he asked. He also got something to eat because his stomach was already hungry.
"Aunt mentioned Ericka, Chesca, and Gerald, who is Ericka's childhood friend." This is the answer to the question.
Vince stared at Thalia, wondering if he had heard the names correctly.
Gerald? Is he William's brother? Ericka? And Chesca, he was thinking, staring at the food.
"Have you met?" Vince asked again, taking a bite of the rice.
Thalia shook her head.
"Why?" he asked tersely.
Thalia sighed before answering his question; she didn't look at him.
"I went to some places, but I couldn't catch up with them."
He just nodded upon hearing it. He had finished eating, immediately drank water, and needed to get ready.
"I won't stop you from doing what you want, Thalia." He simply said he would go back to his room to change and leave immediately.
"I know what you want to convey; I won't approach the warehouse without your notice."
"Good."
He immediately headed to his room. He let out a deep sigh, looked at himself in the mirror, and pondered whether his decisions were right.
Vince let out a big sigh and headed to his closet to get dressed.
He chose a simple outfit that allowed him to move easily. Vince quickly got dressed and came out of the closet; Thalia was still there, sitting.
"I'm leaving first." His farewell.
Thalia just nodded. Vince headed to his small car parked in their garage. He immediately started the engine, drove it, and headed straight to the warehouse. It's not far if you use a vehicle to get there.
He reached the warehouse and immediately parked his vehicle. He exited right away and noticed the thoughtful looks from William and Zenne. He simply furrowed his brow.
He immediately approached the two and tapped them. They merely tapped him twice and gave him a meaningful look.
He nodded, yawned, and decided to go see Charles first.
Same old, same old. He thought to himself, as he passed by the rooms, the smells of people greeting his nose. He occasionally finds himself unsure of the origin of the noises and laughter.
Sobs pleading, cries of pain, and wails asking for help. Until now, no matter how challenging his daily encounters are, he still doesn't become numb to his feelings.
Vince tightly shut his eyes and ears to avoid any influence; he needed to focus his attention elsewhere. It's so difficult to do that to Vince.
Damn it! He irritably muttered in his mind. Therefore, he quickened his pace towards Charles; he was not disappointed to arrive immediately at the place where they would talk.
He turned the doorknob, quietly entered, and immediately closed the door. He immediately saw Charles standing and waiting for him; it was obvious from his posture that he hadn't slept right away.
"Please explain yourself to me, Vince."
He already knew what he was referring to, because his cousin Thalia was here. He just sighed before answering.
"Do I really need to explain myself?" Vince retorted back to Charles.
"Yeah, you didn't tell me that Thalia was here." He said to him.
"Felix asked me for a favor, and there was nothing I could do because it was his decision."
"You did not even impede Felix's train of thought. Would it be possible for you to reach out to me? Especially... with Felix's siblings, you know the situation, Vince." Reminding him.
"You don't need to remind us; we know our family is already involved in the mess, but I—no, we need to do it. Charles, I will not allow our cousins' deaths to be in vain. What happened to you? I've noticed that your defense mechanism is too high right now."
He exhaled. "Nothing." He said. "By the way, I'm going to give you a mission now." He said.
He just looked at his companion.
"It may seem paranoid to think this way, but you need to complete this mission, Vince. Identify people who will betray us."
"Betray?" Vince asked innocently.
"That's what I'm feeling right now, Vince. There are eyes watching us that we don't know about."
"Okay." That was all he said, because he immediately understood what he meant.
"Please also, Vince, be careful."
"Yes, thank you."
He left after they talked.
Betrayal, huh? Who will be the traitor among us? He suddenly wondered in his mind as he walked away, also heading out of the warehouse.
He was already being bathed in sunlight; beautiful surroundings greeted him.
Sigh! He stretched his hands then.
His phone suddenly rang.
