Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Golden Threaded Robe, a Defensive Treasure

Qin Yang's seat is in the last row, quite special—a single desk!

Regarding this, Qin Yang actually has no objections. In the past, his rank in the class always firmly occupied the bottom three spots, and his head wasn't stored with much knowledge related to the college entrance exam. Since he promised his mother to get into a good university, he must deliver.

"Better start by understanding the history of this world."

Qin Yang rummaged in the drawer for a while before finding a nearly brand new high school history book. With the extraordinary memory of a Cultivator, Qin Yang quickly finished reading the first chapter.

"Interesting, the Cave People, Peking Man, tsk tsk, humans evolved from apes, this theory is quite novel..."

A hint of interest crossed the corner of Qin Yang's mouth.

"Chi You raised soldiers to attack the Yellow Emperor... Chi You summoned the Elder Feng and Rain Master, unleashing fierce storms. The Yellow Emperor then summoned the Celestial Maiden known as the Drought Fiend to stop the rain, and thus Chi You was defeated at the Wilderness of Zhulu."

Seeing this, Qin Yang's pupils suddenly shrank. This sentence means Chi You raised an army against the Yellow Emperor, summoned Elder Feng and Rain Master to unleash wild storms, while the emperor summoned the Celestial Maiden Drought Fiend, which stopped the rain, allowing him to defeat Chi You at the Wilderness of Zhulu.

The history book describes it as a battle mythologized by later generations. However, Qin Yang's heart was stirred with gigantic waves.

"This is... the methods of a Cultivator!"

Qin Yang couldn't hide his shock. The power to summon or stop rain, before crossing over, was something he could also achieve. Could it be that Cultivators exist in this world too?!

"There lived a Gonggong clan... fought with Zhu Rong but lost, and in anger, smashed his head against Buzhou Mountain. The mountain collapsed, breaking the heavenly pillar and causing the earth's support to crumble. Nuwa smelted Five-Colored Stones to mend the sky, cutting off Ao's legs to establish the four poles..."

These two lines are well-known Chinese mythology about Gonggong smashing Buzhou Mountain, and Nuwa mending the sky with Five-Colored Stones.

However, Qin Yang knew deep down that this might very well be true.

A Cultivator who mainly trains their body reaches a certain level of strength, where shattering a mountain ten-thousand rens high with their physical body isn't out of the question, and Nuwa's Five-Colored Stone would very likely be some powerful Divine Artifact, used to mend the Void Rift.

"Shennong tasted the flavors of various herbs, the sweetness and bitterness of springs."

Upon reading this part, Qin Yang's eyes showed a color of ecstatic joy. Damn, this Shennong must be an Alchemist, right? Is there really a Shennong Cauldron circulating in this world?

If he could possess an Alchemy Furnace, he wouldn't need to bother with medicinal meals anymore. Only when gathered into pills can the medicinal power be fully utilized.

"Golden Threaded Robe, damn, that's a Defensive Treasure!"

The further Qin Yang flipped, the more astonished he became. Moreover, this Golden Threaded Robe seems to be stored in the National Museum. Could there be a way to get his hands on it?

And the Xuanyuan Sword, Zhanlu Sword, Chixiao Sword, etc., the legendary Ten Great Swords, looking at their origins and legends, each sword possessed strong Spirituality, likely employed as Flying Swords by Cultivators.

"Seems like there are Flying Swords in this world, I absolutely must get one!"

Qin Yang's heart was brimming with joy, unknowingly shouting out in excitement. A Flying Sword is exceedingly important to a Cultivator. Without a Treasure Flying Sword, one wouldn't feel worthy of claiming to be a Cultivator.

However, lost in excitement, Qin Yang completely forgot he was in the classroom, and the first lecture had already started.

At this moment, all eyes in the class turned to Qin Yang; there was no helping it, Qin Yang was really drawing attention today.

Upon entering the class, he first beat up Zheng Wei, who had always been at odds with him, and even the previously dominant Wang Shuai backed down, not daring to utter a word.

Bang! Bang!

A somewhat bald middle-aged teacher's face darkened and knocked on the lectern twice with the chalkboard eraser.

"That student over there, what are you shouting about getting? Do you know that we're in class now, have you mastered and understood the lesson?"

Cao Gang said with a dark face. No one had ever dared to shout in his class.

"Haha, Bald Cao is angry."

Wang Shuai watched this scene, feeling delighted.

Though his uncle let him keep good relations with Qin Yang, he was accustomed to stepping on Qin Yang, evidently not so easily changing his mindset. Now seeing Bald Cao scold Qin Yang, his heart felt quite elated.

Though Bald Cao temporarily handles the first class, he regularly reprimands people at school, earning a reputation for his scoldings; currently serving as the deputy director of the twelfth grade, few third-year students don't know of him.

"These things are quite simple, I learn them with just a glance."

Qin Yang frowned slightly, even though Bald Cao's tone was a bit unpleasant, offering basic courtesy towards teachers remained necessary. Standing up, he calmly stared at Bald Cao and spoke.

"Simple? Learn it in a glance?"

Bald Cao scoffed disdainfully, this yellow-haired, solitary desk student placed in the back clearly abandoned by the teachers.

"I'll let you see two eyes now, first recite for me the actively taught 'Guo Jia's Biography.'" Bald Cao raised a test paper with one hand, while the other heavily pointed at an ancient text on the test paper.

Upon hearing this, quite a few classmates glanced at Qin Yang with slight sympathy. This 'Guo Jia's Biography' was exactly the classical reading topic on the paper.

These types of questions appear in college entrance exams, usually providing a character biography followed by three multiple-choice questions, requiring selection of the correct answers. It isn't a memorized textbook passage, Bald Cao was clearly making it difficult for Qin Yang.

"Test paper?" Qin Yang bitterly smiled inside; there were indeed several blank test papers in the drawer, but who knows which one?

"Brother Yang, it's this one." Turning his head, Guo Xiaobin, sitting in the desk in front, placed a test paper on Qin Yang's desk, whispering.

Watching this, Bald Cao's sneer grew even colder, but he did not intervene.

"You uneducated thing, if this test paper is indeed recited, I'll eat this paper."

Bald Cao said coldly, for this type of underachiever, he notoriously showed no sympathy.

Qin Yang's expression darkened. Respecting teachers is a basic student courtesy, but Bald Cao's words were really too harsh.

Picking up the test paper on the desk, Qin Yang swiftly glanced through it, truly reading at a pace of ten lines at a glance.

"Qingqing, surprisingly, Qin Yang is putting on quite a show; I almost believe he might recite 'Guo Jia's Biography.'" Sun Tiantian's mouth curled with a hint of a smile, genuinely looking forward to Qin Yang's performance.

"How could it be possible—unless he has an eidetic memory." Su Qingqing shook her head, amusedly remarked.

Not only the two main beauties in the class, but all classmates were eagerly anticipating how Qin Yang would proceed; no choice, twelfth grade learning was too dull, a little amusement in class stirred their nerves.

"Finished."

Qin Yang placed the test paper back on the desk and raised his head, speaking calmly.

"Putting on an act."

Bald Cao's eyes showed more mockery as he stepped down from the platform, standing in the aisle beside Qin Yang, staring at him, "I'll watch you, go ahead and recite."
