Axel stood frozen, eyes twitching. Then....
"DAMMIT, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKKKK!!" he roared, flipping one of the tool trays across the room.
The crash echoed. Sparks sprayed.
Scope looked like a child watching his favorite toy break in slow motion.
"It was perfect! It was so close! Why did it reject it!?"
Axel took a step forward, rage boiling.
With a violent swipe, he summoned his second Avatar, a sleek, obsidian figure with blade-arms and a hunter's silhouette.
"Try it again," Axel growled.
"Axel, stop this madness!" Kyra snapped, pushing past me.
He didn't even look at her and just shoved her out of the way. She stumbled and dropped to one knee, but I caught her before she hit the floor.
"Don't worry about me, Contrario," she whispered, voice low but steady. There was something in her eyes. She was hurt, yeah, but deeper. She knew Axel was going too far.
"FUCKING DO IT OLD MAN!" Axel barked again, eyes wild.
