Chapter 290 - Chapter 290 Team Fight, Team Fight

Chapter 290 Team Fight, Team Fight

Flash had just sent out a call for help, and someone immediately responded, a reassuring voice taking the lead.

"This is Superman, I'll be there soon."

Flash's brow relaxed, and then other voices chimed in one after another.

"This is Green Lantern, and my appearance fee is quite expensive, you know."

Hearing his buddy Hal's voice, Barry chuckled and replied, "Got it, Superstar, I'll pay you three soda bread."

"This is Martian Manhunter, could my appearance fee be in Oreo cookies?"

"This is Wonder Woman, I can wrap up what I'm doing shortly. I'd prefer a sandwich."

"Alright, everyone," Flash said helplessly. "I appreciate you all coming, but I'm worried my wallet will be defeated before I am."

Even while chatting with the other super heroes, Barry's eyes remained fixed on the Blue Shadow, wary of a sudden attack. Surprisingly, the figure remained still.

It wasn't until Yang Le, who had been hiding behind Flash, curiously poked his head out that everything changed.

Thump thump thump!

The instant Yang Le's head emerged, the Blue Shadow reacted like a shark smelling blood. Though Yang Le couldn't make out the figure's features clearly, he knew he was the target.

Before the idea even formed in Yang Le's brain, the Blue Shadow was already beside him, reaching out a hand towards Yang Le, about to make contact.

Yang Le's vision blurred, and the environment shifted again. Yang Le's position changed once more, but Flash remained directly in front of him.

"Phew~" Flash sighed in relief. They were just a hair's breadth away from being caught. Even his atto-second reaction ability had been caught off guard.

If Flash was struggling, others were even worse off. The fainted Speedster was irrelevant, Captain Cold hadn't reacted at all, and even Wally had only glimpsed a blurry shadow.

When they looked back to where the Blue Shadow had been, it was long gone. Of course, "long gone" was relative to speedsters. In reality, everything had happened within a single second. Ordinary people like Yang Le and Captain Cold were completely oblivious to what had transpired.

Captain Cold was fine, but Yang Le, due to the rapid shifts in scenery, felt a surge of nausea, like carsickness. Compared to superhuman, ordinary people were simply too fragile.

Before Yang Le could suppress the queasy feeling, the scenery changed again. For the next three seconds, the scene before his eyes kept shifting. Yang Le lost count of how many times he was moved.

"Ugh!" Yang Le dry-heaved. It was only in the third second that he realized he should close his eyes. For an ordinary person caught in a superhuman battle, this was already a decent reaction, though still too late.

"Now I know what 'worse than death' means," Yang Le managed to say, though the sound didn't seem to come from his mouth, but from a position far away.

The position of Yang Le's sound was misaligned with his actual position. This was because Flash was constantly changing his position. Yang Le's words had just been spoken at a certain position, but he had already left it, passively exceeding the speed of sound.

The Blue Shadow attacked again, but a figure, moving at considerable speed, slammed into the inevitable path of its attack. While not fast for a speedster, the newcomer's prediction, or rather, calculation, was incredibly precise. They had accurately anticipated the moment the Blue Shadow would accelerate and be unable to stop, and then struck.

"Boom!"

The loud sound startled Yang Le, causing him to open his eyes – a creature's instinct when faced with the unknown. Thankfully, Yang Le was no longer being repositioned, allowing him to fully see the figure that had just landed.

The first thing he saw was a vibrant red cape, emblazoned in his vision. A powerfully built body, a meticulously styled hairdo – it was Superman.

"Superman," Barry sighed in relief. The relentless pressure from their foe had been suffocating. Superman's arrival was perfectly timed to halt the enemy's offensive.

"Be careful, he's incredibly fast, possibly even faster than me."

Superman nodded at Barry's warning. "I know."

Superman kept one thought to himself. He had already used his super vision to observe Barry's fight before arriving. Upon realizing their opponent was also a speedster, Superman had engaged his rarely used super brain.

Based on super brain calculations, Superman had determined the time and speed of the enemy's next attack. He realized he couldn't outrun the foe, so he calculated the enemy's attack trajectory instead. This led him to choose to land at this specific position. If he couldn't outspeed him, he would simply preemptively strike.

According to Superman's calculations, the enemy should have already entered an accelerated state at this position and be unable to stop. However, reality proved different. His attack had completely missed.

'Looks like this opponent will be a tough one.' Superman clenched his fist, his super brain calculating the enemy's next move.

The Blue Shadow vanished from the original place again. The next moment, a green, semi-transparent cube materialized there. Barry looked up and saw Green Lantern Hal. It was obvious the cube was his handiwork.

The Blue Shadow evaded Hal's attack, bypassed Superman and Flash, and charged towards Yang Le from another direction. In an instant, it was beside Yang Le, about to succeed, when Yang Le's body began to distort.

Yang Le flowed like melting wax, revealing an inner form after melting – it was still Yang Le, but his face was filled with terror. His melted physical body transformed into several tentacles, lashing out at the approaching Blue Shadow, but they struck empty air. The next second, the Blue Shadow was already hundreds of meters away.

"Pity." The tentacles released the terrified Yang Le and solidified into a humanoid figure beside him. "I apologize for enveloping you without your permission, but it was an emergency. I hope you understand."

Martian Manhunter J'onn J'onzz apologized to Yang Le, who was still blankly staring, seemingly too frightened to think.

"Ha!"

A battle cry echoed as Wonder Woman descended from the sky, wielding her sword in both hands. With unstoppable force, she swung at the Blue Shadow, but again, it was in vain. The Blue Shadow had already vanished.

"Speedster enemies are truly troublesome," Wonder Woman remarked, twirling her sword and vigilantly watching their foe.
