Chapter 286 - Chapter 286 Principled Rogues

Chapter 286 Principled Rogues

'Damn it! That feeling again!' Barry cursed in his heart. Ironically, just when he was fighting an enemy, that feeling of being chased appeared once more.

Months of experience had allowed Barry to discover a pattern. That feeling of being chased only appeared when he accelerated to a certain degree. In other words, the more he used the Speed Force, the more obvious that feeling of being chased became.

Just like now, facing an enemy who was also a Speedster, Barry had to increase his speed. However, Barry didn't dare to use his full power, because he didn't know what exactly he would summon if his speed became too fast.

However, Barry's deliberate 'holding back' made his opponent become smug.

"What's wrong, Flash?" the Speedster stopped after creating some distance. "Is it because I'm in such good shape today? Why can you only eat my farts behind my butt?"

Flash stopped and replied helplessly, "Is there a possibility that it's not that you're in good shape, but that I'm in terrible shape?"

"Really?" the Speedster slightly lowered his body. "Then let's settle this with our legs! To decide the victor between us, I even asked someone to entangle that brat. Let's circle Central City a few times first, woohoo!"

The Speedster disappeared as soon as he finished speaking. Barry sighed, glanced at Kid Flash who was being entangled, and only after confirming that the other party was okay did he stride out to chase after him.

"Oh, please!" Wally ran in circles continuously, because he couldn't get close to the enemy in the center.

"Compared to Flash, you're still much slower, kid," Captain Cold held a Freeze Gun in each hand, one gun held level aiming at Wally's position, and the other gun raised to shoulder level, on guard for any sudden situations.

"Bang!"

A gunshot rang out. Captain Cold seized the opportunity of Wally's deceleration caused by his attempt to attack. Accompanied by the squeaking sound of air freezing, the ice bullet grazed past Wally.

'Whew!' Wally suppressed the panic in his heart. He wanted to increase his speed again, but he felt a burning sensation from his right arm. Without looking, Wally knew that although the ice bullet hadn't actually hit him, it had grazed his shoulder, and just that graze had given him frostbite.

If he had been hit directly, Wally didn't dare to imagine the consequences. He might even die.

"That's why I say you're still too green, kid!" Captain Cold saw more and more afterimages surrounding him, and knew that Wally had definitely been affected by his attack. Otherwise, the opponent wouldn't have suddenly sped up.

"If it were Flash, he definitely wouldn't have been hit by me just now."

Captain Cold shouted loudly, continuing to mess with Wally's mentality. The mentality of these young teenagers was their biggest weakness. He had heard from the bad guys in Gotham that even Batman talked a lot when he first debuted.

Towers aren't built in a day, and a powerful being's mentality isn't accumulated in a day either. Impulsive and error-prone teenagers are simply the easiest to predict.

Sure enough, Captain Cold was right. Wally was indeed about to explode with anger. His brain was full of thoughts about how to deal with this guy who was spouting nonsense in front of him, but his actions gradually became passive. He hesitated to launch an attack, and his stamina was slowly draining.

"Huff! Huff! Huff!"

Thanks to Yang Le's efforts, he finally arrived at the scene of the crime within ten minutes. Unfortunately, the scene had already been cordoned off by the police with police line. Because the cordoned area was relatively large, there were two police officers responsible for guarding every section of the police line.

Although ostensibly it was to prevent the super villains inside from escaping, everyone knew that the police officers' main work was to prevent ordinary people from chasing after stars and not valuing their lives, recklessly running in to their deaths.

Although the bad guy causing trouble inside was Captain Cold, for this major villain who personally founded the Rogues, the police officers both hated and liked him a little.

The reason for hating him was of course because Captain Cold was a super villain who disrupted order and would escape from prison and commit crimes every now and then. The reason for liking him was because of the Iron Rule of the Rogues that he personally established.

No murder unless absolutely necessary. This single rule alone made the police in Central City the envy of police from other cities year-round, especially the police in Gotham City, who could be described as jealous.

Not to mention other rules such as no drug use, no harming women and children, no cruelty (specifically mentioning Gotham), no infighting (still specifically mentioning Gotham), and it was even said that they were not allowed to spit anywhere.

Even when a crisis that threatened Central City occurred, the Rogues would come out to help, of course, for money. The Rogues were not vigilantes; they didn't do free work. Of course, even if you couldn't pay, the Rogues wouldn't really ignore you, but the people of Central City were quite principled, and would pay when they should.

So although next door Keystone City was rising rapidly, Central City still topped the list of most livable cities year-round. By the way, Gotham was not included in this ranking, because the magazine that created this ranking was afraid that those Gotham madmen would travel thousands of miles to come and murder them.

They believed that those Gotham madmen were absolutely capable of doing it.

"Stop!" A police officer saw Yang Le squeeze out of the crowd and gradually approach the police line, so he immediately spoke out to stop Yang Le. "The area ahead is dangerous. Ordinary people are prohibited from approaching!"

Yang Le had long anticipated this situation. On the way here by car, he had thought of a countermeasure and was about to state his explanation immediately.

"Officer, I..."

"No matter what, it's not allowed!"

Unexpectedly, the police officer's attitude was very firm, directly interrupting Yang Le's words.

"But my younger sister is still inside!" Yang Le pretended to be very anxious.

"That's impossible." The police officer shook his head. "Inside is the Flash Museum. Because it's being upgraded and renovated, there are no employees or tourists inside, only a construction team. Don't tell me your younger sister is a burly construction worker."

Faced with the police officer's question, Yang Le subconsciously said, "How dare you assume my younger sister's gender?"

The police officer immediately showed an expression of looking at an idiot when he heard these words. Obviously, his patience was running out, but he still explained to Yang Le, "Moreover, even the construction team is no longer inside. Don't underestimate the Rogues' principle in handling business. They probably investigated the construction team's work time long ago, calculated their lunch time accurately, and then carried out this crime. Now, it can be said that there isn't a single ordinary person inside. The construction team also hasn't report any missing people to us."

'Damn Rogues!' Yang Le cursed in his heart. Why are they so principled in doing business? Will someone pay them extra for it? Now, don't I have absolutely no reason to go in?

'It seems I can only think of another method.'
