Chapter 64 - Chapter 63: Infinite Universes and the Nameless Little Boy (1)

Breathing

"Administrator was behind the abnormally high Trust gain that came to me."

Not only that, Sanguinius was also shocked by certain things the clone had undertaken.

The astral gate had been finalized.

Energy consumption?

Reduced thanks to a mineral called Coronatite, which he found in the Destroyer thanks to an expedition he funded.

(Image)

"He was really cunning... Hiring the Crimson Demons to take care of the Destroyer with Kazuma's group..."

Coronatite is a legendary mineral, often compared to a mini-sun.

It has the reputation of burning forever, and this particularity was able to relieve the elemental pools responsible for powering the installations.

Thus, the astral gate was able to open thanks to a single clone sitting on the administrator's chair.

The latter's task is just to send his magical power through the portal, to find a world.

This is similar to fishing in the void between realities (or astral plane).

There was no longer any need to permanently sacrifice a clone, like a battery.

The clones were forced to take turns often, and the worlds found aren't always good and are extremely rare.

Especially since it's extremely difficult to send a clone through the astral gate.

The pressure exerted between worlds is as high as that of the ocean depths.

The figure, which was measured, amounts to tens of hundreds of bars.

So, each clone sent to another world must withstand pressure equivalent to several tons.

According to Administrator's memory, they came across a total of three worlds.

The first was an apocalyptic world filled with monsters devouring organic matter.

Human or not.

The place was interesting, because studying these mushroom-like creatures gave Morbius ideas.

These creatures are literally impossible to eradicate for the current citadel, by their nature.

If a clone kills one, then it disappears in spore form.

It will come back to life later.

This led the clone into an endless and useless fight.

They classified this world as unprofitable.

Administrator decided to recover surviving humans, because their resilience against such monsters is admirable.

They also came across a zombie apocalypse, which had nothing interesting.

However, a clone recognized a group of high school students from a manga that was popular at one time.

40% of the scientists living in the floating fortress are originally from there, but the rest comes from the world filled with creatures hungry for organic matter.

They immigrated, after healing using magic taught by Aqua and verification by Morbius.

Their next world had nothing particular (resources) for the clones, except pure technology in the United States.

Unfortunately, the place had too many strong people.

Total occupation is impossible.

Especially since one of the "villains" possesses too high a pure destructive force.

The man named Misu Kim discouraged them.

(Image)

The clones just spent several months stealing technology from the United States, because they have a hidden pseudo-flying city.

Due to Rasputin's absence, they had to sacrifice a few clones against a young girl in robotic armor guarding the place.

So far, this is the only "profitable" world for the Citadel.

Apart from the dangers related to worlds and their profitability, the clones suffered enormous losses due to simple exploration via the astral portal.

How?

There exist entities from the void between worlds (or astral plane), which possess strange and dangerous powers.

A clone wasn't even aware of being under the control of an entity from the void between worlds.

It was the AI Morbius who spotted the energy anomaly emitted by him.

The latter was too similar to the astral plane.

After several unsuccessful healing attempts, they decided to use a simple and radical measure.

They eliminated the clone.

The clones had lost confidence in cleaning the energy corruption on the victim.

A coldly logical choice.

They didn't have Rasputin and have no experience against these kinds of entities, so it was deemed preferable to employ caution.

"How is the zombie extermination in Japan progressing?"

After digesting the information, Sanguinius inquired about the zombie world or High School of the Dead.

The universe itself indeed has no interesting resources, but he's not going to refuse a free planet, right?

There's also a second solar system, and a huge amount of trust from survivors to obtain.

"We sent armed servants, who are managed by Moebius," explained a masked clone, after searching for a document.

After receiving it, Sanguinius nodded with satisfaction.

The servants sent all humans possessing a certain level of talent to the floating fortress.

There, they are sorted according to their original work and intellect.

A situation similar to the world invaded by creatures hungry for organic matter.

People intelligent enough will be kept as scientists, while others will be teleported to Axel.

'They decided to fill the Citadel with scientists, and form an army outside the Space Marines originally planned for this role.'

People not wanting to participate in the lord of Axel's army will simply be left to themselves in the other world (Konosuba).

No support or resources will be provided to "ungrateful" individuals.

Only elderly people and children were spared, since they are helped by the clones.

A simple but effective idea.

Unfortunately, Administrator's memory indicates complaints from the royal family.

They didn't appreciate the appearance of a huge population outside the city of Axel.

They've already summoned him 9 times in three years.

All their talks, to "reduce" the number of citizens of Axel, lead to nothing because of the ever-growing population under Sanguinius.

So, they try to include an arranged marriage during the talks.

The objective is simple: prevent him from increasing his influence without sharing the gains.

Administrator preferred to pay more money, in the form of taxes or tribute.

Money has never been a problem when you explore other realities.

'By wanting to avoid offending the royal family to continue calm development, you made the other high nobles arrogant... tsk'

A necessary evil?

Possible, but Sanguinius would have just asked Wolbach to attack the capital or the nobles using revenge as a pretext.

After all, she's a rare surviving demonic general.

Might as well use her.

Administrator was too reserved and meticulous in his approach, but the results are extremely correct.

He even has three worlds he can visit without the help of the chat group now.

'Documents related to increased suspicious activities in the Greek pantheons...'

Looking at the documents on the desk in front of Administrator's chair, there was mention of bellicose-type activities in the Mediterranean.

The island of Cyprus ended up attracting the attention of the Greek gods.

"It's a bit too late, Poseidon..."

He put away the document and got up to leave to see his family in Axel.

He had been absent too long.

"Three years... and soon four. Am I a worthy son of my heavenly father?" he said, in a small monologue of self-derision.

'At least, Administrator had sent letters regularly to Luna and Wiz... it should go well.'

Sanguinius left, while a clone wanted to talk to him about an urgent subject by handing him a document.

[Project: artificial sacred gear]

A project that cannot be launched without him, nor without the existential points of the Chat Group.

They literally have no authorization to use the points.

...

'I feel like I missed something important... Whatever, this fortress isn't going to fly away.'

He had more important things before his eyes, now.

"Axel? This thing no longer looks like a classic fantasy universe town..."

Because of the immigration policy that the clones practiced and the help of skills.

The newcomers arriving in Axel modified the city, until making it unrecognizable.

This was a mini culture shock for Sanguinius.

He never believed in the great replacement theory, but...

'Calm down Sanguinius, it's not your country of origin anyway.'

After calming his heart, he began to walk in the street experiencing firsthand the things seen by administrator.

Axel has become big, no the correct word is enormous.

Modern buildings and houses have become visible everywhere.

The architecture looks a bit like the walls in SNK, because Axel's original wall remained in place and the latter is encircled by another larger wall.

This was repeated 3 times.

It was a way to separate immigrants from other worlds and the original inhabitants of Axel.

An initiative, to reassure the original people.

'You are still the heart of Axel' the message sent by the administrator here.

A subtle but effective manipulation.

At each ring or major distributor, you have to pass guards or officers in different uniforms.

This refers to the origin of the inhabitants.

In the center, the real Axel before the wave of immigrants.

Outside of here, a multicultural population distributed in different major districts separated by walls.

Does this seem racist or xenophobic?

Yes.

Does Sanguinius care?

No.

Administrator simply preferred to avoid unnecessary problems related to Damien's past life.

After some time walking in his human form, as usual in the Konosuba universe,

he finally didn't take long to reach the old slum.

In front of the door of his manor, there was a masked clone distributing food to the poor while talking about the heroic acts of the hero against the demon king.

Sanguinius nodded to him as a greeting, and the masked clone subtly returned it.

He entered his home without problem, because no magical defense of the place identified him as an enemy.

"Huh?!" As he hesitates to open the front door,

he came across a child, who was accompanied by a horned servant in maid attire.

The child emanated a contradictory and abnormal presence.

His very existence seems to displease the angelic nature recovered by Sanguinius.

On the other hand, the maid gives him an atmosphere... of little sister or inferior being.

After making a strange noise, the child tilted his head to the side, a gesture clearly translating his confusion.

"W...who are you?" in a calm voice, but with a neutral facial expression.

The little boy asked him this question.

Sanguinius wanted to answer, but he was a bit intrigued by the child's reptilian and golden eyes.

(Image)

"I..." At the moment of his response, the maid next to him immediately bowed.

"Welcome home, Lord Sanguinius" she said, with a fanatical look.

## Mini omake:

"I never thought I'd say this... but I miss Administrator a bit," said the clone, with the documents related to the projects.

"I think the same. We're not making progress against the other psychopath who wants to make his whole planet sad."

Another clone also expressed his frustration.

In the absence of their original, they could only find two real dimensions containing interesting objects.

One was controlled by a psychopath, and the other... gangrened by creatures obsessed with organic matter.

"We need to get a Sacred Gear plan, and preferably prison type," muttered another, after sighing.

"If you want to hunt Ddraig or Albion again, that's already been discussed," reprimanded another.

"Who talked about using the floating fortress alone? This time, the Original is here. The power of this monster of magical technology will largely suffice," he declared in a confident tone.

"The Original can always capture a dragon king, failing a heavenly dragon," he added, continuing his opinion.

The SENA had become a debate zone, because of Sanguinius's hasty departure.

The irresponsible man had managed to default on his women... but also on himself.

Author's Note:

This is a summary of the terms used, which could complicate some.

Bar: a unit of measurement used for pressure exerted on an area (here the surface of a clone's body).

Astral plane: a superior reality or dimension, which separates parallel universes or dimensions.

You can consider it as a void (nothingness) filled only with unstable and chaotic energy.

A human body cannot cross this without adequate equipment, because the pressure exerted on the traveler between worlds is high.

Sub-dimension: this is a term you need to know to avoid confusion.

A sub-dimension is a small satellite dimension attached to a world or its main dimension (in DxD, there's hell, paradise, etc.).

World protective sphere: a protection wall that covers the world and protects it from invasions.

All realities have it, but their functioning depends on the world.

(Basic function: protects the native from the void between worlds, but it can give penalties to intruders.)

Astral beast or void creature:

There is extremely little information about these things, but they are the main reason that pushes for caution during travel between worlds.

They are not too powerful usually, but they have incredibly annoying powers.

Other optional explanation:

The high mortality rate of Magus (magicians from Leylin's world) is high during travel to other worlds.

It's literally fishing (sending your energy through the astral portal, to find a world and note the coordinates).

Of course, you won't know which world you're going to land on.

You can even suddenly appear in front of the final boss of a world (this thing is so random).

That's why the Chat Group is still very useful.

Especially since an Astral Gate user can spend years without finding a random world (and I remind you, this can be a dangerous world or occupied by a powerful entity).

In short: the clones were very lucky.

Administrator spent his time, with SENA members literally fishing for worlds (taking turns) and planned inventions using the knowledge accumulated at Moebius...

Other optional info: Misu Kim is already a demon lord... Sanguinius, currently in 1 vs 1, has 15% chance of victory. With his floating fortress 30~40%

For those who don't know, he's a fallen hero capable of surviving an explosion visible from space (Russia was annihilated by the explosion).

He was perfectly fine.

On the other hand, the hero bothering the clones... he has a role to play in the DxD arc (Age of Heroes).

Important!!!: No, Sanguinius and the clones didn't know that Misu Kim's universe was in a time loop upon their arrival.

So, this Time Line doesn't have the hero possessing the power of infinite reincarnation.

They're not even aware of the manhwa.

The clones learned about Misu Kim's objectives from the natives... but they're not aware of the reasons for his madness and despair.

The situation is similar in the God Eater world (Sanguinius doesn't know this manga and underestimates the usefulness of scientists from this world).

Important!!!: No, Sanguinius doesn't know Misu Kim and his fallen hero story.

List of universes:

Highschool of the Dead

God eater

Hero Has Returned (or The Warrior Returns)

Another piece of info: I'm releasing a bonus chapter at 600 stones.
