The next morning, Gray took a half-day from work.
It was Friday, and aside from a few follow-ups on yesterday's deal, there wasn't much left to do on his schedule. Most of the important work that he had was already wrapped up.
Aside from that, he needed a little time to breathe.
Besides, today was friday. He was sure that people were either winding down or trying to finish everything fast so they could clock out early. He figured no one would miss him for a few hours.
Still, he sent Marcus a message before he left just to inform him.
[Gray]: Hey. I'm taking half-day. There's nothing urgent pending in my office, but call me if something comes up.
Marcus responded not even two minutes later.
[Marcus]: Understood, Sir. Enjoy your time.
And just like that, Gray was free.
Honestly? This was the kind of thing he hadn't realized he liked until recently.
Now that he was a boss and not a worker, he just realized that his time revolved around him now.
