Chapter 118 - 0118 Return

Apart from the gemstone and parchment, Adrian had gained nothing else from Albania.

Well, perhaps finding that werewolf village counted as an unexpected harvest.

Though for now, this discovery was of little immediate use.

Adrian had also asked the Tree of Wisdom to analyze the gemstone and parchment, but it provided no valuable clues.

It seemed he would have to wait until school started to find a way to borrow Hogwarts' Pensieve for further research.

Afterward, Adrian immediately returned to England.

Both Trelawney's prophecy and the information from Nicolas Flamel's crystal ball had been proven accurate so, there was no point in staying there any longer.

Time passed quietly, and soon it was the end of July.

Adrian hadn't spent much more time studying the blue gemstone and bound parchment.

During this period, his daily tasks consisted of training Harry and strengthening his own spell proficiency.

After acquiring the "Energy Amplification" ability, Adrian's spell power had increased considerably, but the accompanying stability issues couldn't be ignored. He had to spend time readjusting to these changes.

There was another matter: the Devil's Snare's spellcasting ability was progressing rapidly.

It could now cast many common spells, especially the Blasting Curse—it seemed particularly fond of this magic.

He wondered why a plant would enjoy explosions.

On a lazy afternoon, Adrian brought Remus over for combat training as usual.

Honestly, with Adrian's current strength, Remus could hardly be considered a qualified sparring partner anymore.

Especially after Adrian's magical power increased, their duels often ended within just a few rounds.

"Expelliarmus!"

A brilliant red light shot from Adrian's wand tip, striking Remus's wrist at incredible speed. His wand flew from his hand, and Adrian caught it steadily.

Remus rubbed his aching wrist and smiled bitterly. "Must you insist on using me as practice?"

This was the third time today that Adrian had disarmed him. His 'boss' seemed obsessed with dueling recently. And his progress was also astounding.

At first, Remus could barely hold his own, but now he couldn't even last two rounds.

Adrian returned Remus's wand to him, and smiled. "Because you look quite free."

"It's rest time," Remus took his wand back and shook his head. "Our contract states that I have lunch break..."

"Alright," Adrian interrupted, "we still have time for one more round. This time I'll use the Binding Curse—I've gained new insights into this spell recently."

Remus walked to a clearing nearby and sat down, rubbing his sore shoulders with a sigh. "Let me rest a while. Actually, if you want better practice, you could join some dueling clubs or participate in dueling competitions."

"Dueling competitions?" Adrian nodded thoughtfully—this was indeed a good way to improve his strength.

Professor Flitwick had frequently participated in dueling competitions when he was young, and improved his dueling proficiency and later became a champion.

As for Professor Flitwick's abilities... Adrian felt that even now, he couldn't defeat him.

The wizarding world's dueling competitions did have some advantages.

"By the way," Remus looked around, seeming to remember something. "Where's Harry? I haven't seen him for several days."

Adrian tapped his wand lightly with his fingers. "Three days. He hasn't appeared for three days."

Remus looked confused.

"Harry is a diligent child—he's never missed daily training," He looked at Adrian. "Maybe he's in some trouble. Aren't you going to find him?"

"I was planning to do just that," Adrian leisurely pulled out a pocket watch from his robes, checked the time, and said, "Probably the Dursleys are giving him trouble again."

Remus had long known that Harry currently lived with his aunt's family, and that household seemed quite unfriendly toward him.

No, that wasn't right.

From Harry's usual accounts, it sounded more like abuse!

Remus frowned, his voice carrying obvious displeasure. "Won't you help Harry? With your methods, dealing with a few Muggles shouldn't be a problem."

Adrian played with his pocket watch, glanced at Remus, and sighed. "I don't want to go too far."

In fact, changing the Dursleys' attitude toward Harry would be quite simple—just a small modification to their memories would solve everything completely.

Adrian was confident no one would discover it.

However, while the Dursleys were extremely detestable, Adrian wouldn't go overboard—he still maintained certain principles.

But regardless, restricting Harry's personal freedom was indeed excessive.

After all, the summer vacation of his second year was a crucial period.

Harry still had a heap of summer goals to achieve!

This concerned Harry's bright future prospects.

Adrian decided to disguise himself as a community worker and take Harry away, just like last time.

While he couldn't go too far, a small suggestion wouldn't be a problem.

With these thoughts, Adrian arrived at the Dursley house.

"Ding-dong—"

Shortly after ringing the doorbell, the door opened.

The person who answered was Petunia Dursley, Harry's aunt.

"Good afternoon, madam," Adrian politely removed his hat, revealing a standard smile. "I hope you remember me."

Petunia seemed somewhat tired. She stared at Adrian for a long time before finally showing a look of realization. "You're... from the community services?"

Adrian nodded, taking out several sheets of white paper from a conjured briefcase—these blank sheets appeared to Petunia as documents filled with text.

He flipped through them, saying, "Yes, madam. We noticed that Mr. Harry Potter has been absent from activities for several days. I'm here to check on his situation."

Upon hearing Harry Potter's name, Petunia's expression changed.

"He hasn't been participating in any activities recently," She frowned, speaking with slight displeasure. "Please leave, sir."

"What's wrong, dear? Is someone here?"

Vernon Dursley hurried to the door upon hearing voices, his purple-red fat face freezing instantly when he saw Adrian.

He instinctively moved in front of his wife, breathing heavily.

"What are you here for?" Vernon's voice seemed squeezed through gritted teeth. "Stay away from our house!"

Petunia was startled by her husband's attitude.

She pulled at Vernon's sleeve in confusion. "Dear, what's wrong? This gentleman is from community services, asking about Harry..."

"Community?" Vernon sneered, his fat face trembling. "He's a professor from that Hog... Hogwarts school!"

Petunia's face instantly went pale as she examined Adrian more carefully.

Suddenly, as if understanding something, she looked at Adrian in horror. "It's magic! You must have used magic on me, didn't you!?"

Seeing this, Adrian shrugged. "Let's all calm down, shall we?"

As he spoke, Adrian revealed the wand in his hand.
