Yaoyorozu ranks among the world's top corporations.
They're Japan's richest company and 7th globally.
This company was single-handedly made by Yaoyorozu Takeshi. His life is a textbook rags-to-riches tale.
He is the founder and currently the Chief Innovation Officer of the company.
He found his love of life at some point in his journey to what he has become now.
Yaoyorozu Hinami.
She runs the company solo as CEO.
Takeshi had once joked in an interview: "Hinami runs the company. I just make the toys."
Share prices doubled six months after she took over. The board never looked back.
Analysts started calling it the "Hinami Curve." A new benchmark for post-merger growth.
One might assume that Hinami comes from a business background, seeing her skills as the CEO. Surprisingly, she's a retired pro hero.
Not any pro hero, but one that retired while in the top 100.
Rank 69 Morphex.
That very legend sat across from Shigure.
'I fucking need to have a mindset of prepared to die if I want to negotiate properly.' After Hawks warned him, Shigure mentally braced himself.
The extra preparation was worth it.
The office was cold steel and frosted glass, no clutter—just purpose.
'I have seen a trend. All successful people generally have a minimalist attitude. It's clear from seeing their rooms. Be it Hinami, Keigo or even me.'
"Do you want to drink something? Coffee, Tea or something else?" She smiled professionally.
'Damn. I am lucky that puberty hasn't started. She is a freaking hot Milf. I should have expected this much from Momo's mom.'
He snapped himself out of it.
"I would like some milk."
She raised an eyebrow. "Odd choice. Though it does make sense given your age."
She pressed a few fingers on her tablet.
"Hey now. I am considered a legal adult. It's just that my body hasn't caught up yet." Shigure smiled.
'Can't let her give the initiative to treat me as the kid. It would make bargaining hard.'
He leaned forward, gaze firm, matching hers without blinking.
She smirked. "I know. If I treat you as a kid, you will run our company dry."
"Glad that you understand," Shigure returned the smirk. 'I was initially going for that route, but the risk was high.'
"So. My husband was impressed seeing the RSGC three years ago. I was pretty much disappointed you sold it to the association. Why did you do that?"
He tapped his fingers on the table. "It was a gamble. Bad odds. Personal reasons."
"What if the gamble had failed?" Hinami tilted her head.
"Then it would have failed." Shigure shrugged. "To be honest, the main driving force for this was funding. You might know this, but out of all the funding I got for this project, 60 per cent was used for my food expenses."
"60 per cent?" Hinami raised an eyebrow. "What about the funds from the association?"
"All on food expenses." Shigure shook his head melanchonically.
"That's... surprising. Your calorie consumption is more than my daughter's."
"Haha. I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or not. Anyway, the main purpose of this project was to sustain my food needs for the next few decades. I am pretty sure that this project should accomplish that."
"You don't have to worry about the food for your entire life, even if your consumption skyrockets a thousand times." Hinami smiled.
'I am afraid of it passing that threshold.'
Just at that time, somebody entered the room.
Shigure tilted his head, seeing a—robot.
A robot that would wrap around his waist.
It was carrying the drinks.
Shigure took his cup.
"Still. It was shocking to hear the news on New Year's Eve. My husband almost fainted out of surprise." She took a sip of her drink.
"Seeing how my investment in you gave the returns, it seems my business acumen hadn't deteriorated with age."
"You don't look that old. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody tells me that you are 20 years old." Shigure teased. 'To be honest, I am not even lying. I feel doubtful about her being Momo's older sister. No way she's in her 40s, right?'
"Young man, flattery will get you nowhere. How about we start talking about the contract. I just emailed you."
"Right." Shigure opened his laptop, instantly using Ki to find loopholes.
As expected, there were none.
He scanned for hidden drawbacks.
'Damn, it seems I underestimated my worth. This is good.'
He then changed his focus to the juicy part of the whole contract.
10 per cent shares in a new company that would be formed.
"20 per cent." He instantly doubled it.
Hinami looked at her watch. Then she looked at him. 'Here we go.'
They spent two hours locked in fierce negotiation.
'15 per cent, huh? I was expecting this result from the start. Guess, I won.' He signed with a smirk.
"Are you really happy with the contract?" She put away her tablet, getting up from the chair and stretched.
"Yeah. I was expecting 15 per cent from the start. Hence, the 20." He packed his laptop, holding eye contact.
"I thought so. You were really going conservative. I was initially expecting 25 per cent." She smirked.
Shigure froze. 'Fuck. I thought I got ripped off a bit, but still 10 per cent is like 0.66 of my current amount.'
"You underestimated your worth. Though I can't blame you, only experts would know how CMLA will influence the business. Next time, if you want to do some negotiation like this, let me know. I will do it for you." She patted his shoulders.
"Oh really? Thank you." Shigure smiled, immediately grabbed the opportunity given to his plate.
Hinami was taken aback for a second. Then she giggled. "You don't really have an ounce of pride, do you?"
"What's pride? Can you eat it?" Shigure smirked.
'To be honest, despite all my preparations, I still didn't get the ideal outcome. I even psycho analyzed her to make a difference, but it was futile. Though I only spent around 3 hours with her, the pre-existing information on her did help a bit.'
"How about you have dinner with us? I know a perfect restaurant nearby." Hinami suggested.
Shigure glanced at the wall clock. "Actually, I can't leave the building. I almost died a few days ago due to an assassination."
Hinami's poker face cracked a bit. "Assassination...I didn't know that. How about I order the food and we have food here?"
"Sure." Shigure instantly agreed. 'Can't say no to free food. Also would be a good chance to get more information on her.'
After all the analysis of her, Shigure had only a big-picture understanding of her. Like he could figure out some of Hinami's core beliefs, but that was it.
'She gives me the same feeling as Keigo. I also have a similar understanding of him. Lately, he has become even harder to understand. Keigo did mention that I give off a similar feeling.' Shigure was expecting it to be harder for him to analyse her initially.
Politicians or businessmen generally have a good poker face. However, Hinami didn't have just that.
Shigure sat at the dining table.
Hinami came soon after, followed by Momo.
Momo introduced herself to Shigure. Shigure reciprocated.
It was a normal formal greeting.
"So, when you said that, did you have the intention to..." Shigure started asking questions about some of the instances of the negotiation they had.
She answered patiently, her expression brightening with each question.
'She is a high-level expert. Though I am sacrificing the chance to analyse her, she probably would see through that. So, may as well sharpen my business acumen. Need to learn this to scam others.'
"I thought you were a newbie initially. Didn't know that you had this much knowledge about the field. All your poor decisions make sense now. You just need more experience." At this point, Hinami's eyes were twinkling.
For a second, Shigure even thought that he was seeing things.
"I just had some knowledge of it." Shigure had learned a lot of things in his long life. He had tried multiple fields as a hobby, similar to what he did with Psychology. Though not many of his fields had reached the same mastery as his expertise in human psychology, it was still pretty good enough not to be considered a newbie.
"You are being too humble. If you have any interest in learning business in the future, do inform me. I would personally teach you."
Shigure staggered. "Of course. Though I am probably going to pursue heroics in the future." 'Did the sun rise from the west today? How am I getting so many ridiculous offers?'
This perked up Momo, who wasn't paying attention to the conversation till now.
"Heroics? Do you plan to be a pro hero?"
"Yeah. That's the plan. Though I don't have a noble reason or something. I just had a good quirk for it, so I wanted to try it."
Shigure tilted his head towards Momo. This caused him to miss a glint passing through Hinami's eyes.
