Lucian's POV
I exhaled sharply, the door clicking shut behind me. My mind going blank for a few minutes as I shut my eyes. I could feel her heartbeat racing outside the door before she finally left, the sound gradually fading down the corridor.
I slowly opened my eyes, feeling an odd sense of calm wash over me. The school compound spread out before me through the window, bathed in the golden light of late afternoon. I had touched her. I hadn't meant to, I wasn't thinking clearly, I let my desire control me completely. Since my encounter with Damien, I've kept a low profile and needed to stay away from her. Being close to me might bring danger to her doorstep.
So much for self-control, Lucian.
I grabbed my suit jacket and briefcase, stepping toward the office door. I desperately needed a hot bath to clear my head.
As I locked the door, I remembered her words, causing me to let out a low chuckle.
