Chapter 14 - Chapter 13: Temporary Peace

After getting whatever Do-Jin had to do and dropping Coco off at Han's apartment, they were on their journey to the mountains.

Hyun-So really didn't want to leave Coco behind, but Do-Jin told him it was quite a remote place, and if they lost him, he would be in danger. The cat was still too little to leave on his own.

It will be just for a while.

Hyun-So resurfaced, watching as the city turned into long strands of trees. The mountains loomed in the distance, their peaks shrouded in mist.

It was beautiful.

He has never been out of those damp buildings before, never had the time for vacations.

They got off in front of another mansion, by the slope of a mountain filled with nature. But it was not as crazy as Do-Jin's house inside.

"Wow," a single word to describe his amusement.

Do-Jin smiled at his open mouth, taking his bag out from their car. "You like it?" he asked when he was already aware of the answer.

"Yeah, dude, you are Rich-Rich." Hyun-So walked around, taking the place in. When he first got into Do-Jin's house, it was different. So he took his time there to look around slowly as he got the permissions to explore.

But this time it was different; they were now close enough for it not to matter anymore. They got where staff members were waiting for them.

He looked back at Do-Jin. They didn't have anyone back at home except for the lady who cleaned and cooked for them, always leaving after she was done.

Do-Jin gave him a reassuring smile, handing over the single luggage to one of the staff members as they walked in.

"So we can actually relax." Do-Jin, he said as they settled on the couch together. Hyun-So was lost in capturing the beauty of this place, and Do-Jin was lost in the way Hyun-So's eyes sparkled with excitement.

Cute

He is certain that with a single hint, Hyun-So will run around the house and even outside to explore. But they should rest for tonight before doing that.

Do-Jin found himself in one of the rooms after they had dinner together. The staff had actually prepared a lot despite the short notice he offered before they arrived here.

He made sure Hyun-So got the best this time. It didn't matter to him where he was sleeping himself.

He settled down on the bed, falling asleep instantly; it was a long day.

At KHYON Life Sciences

Chairman Seo Jae-Hwan was rushing back to his office with Secretary Jung right behind, keeping up with his boss's pace just fine.

"What did he do again?" He asked, and Jung looked over at the tablet in his hand.

"He hired 27 thugs to kidnap Park Hyun-So. Director Seo Da-Eun got there in time to rescue Park Hyun-So just before it would have been too dangerous for him," he reported as they got into the elevator, pressing a button so it was going up.

"Did she take care of them?" Chairman Seo grumbled.

"Yes, sir, in fact she is waiting for you in your office."

The elevator doors opened, and they both rushed out.

The chairman throws the door open, revealing Da-Eun standing confidently with little expression that might be anger.

"Where is that brat?" Chairman Seo walked over to his seat but didn't sit down.

"He is home, Father," she said, putting a little pressure on Father. She still looked calm, but it was obvious she was upset and wanted to talk to her father, not the chairman of KHYON.

Chairman Seo waved his hand as he sat down, indicating for the Secretary to leave them alone. He took a deep breath before talking.

"We shouldn't drag personal matters into the company."

"Then you need to spend some time at home for that to be possible," she replied firmly.

The chairman couldn't speak at that; he doesn't even remember the last time he was home.

"You can't live off staying here or in hotels forever," she gestured to the door within a corner of the office, losing her cool completely. "I don't remember the last time I found Jin-Woo sober or any of you at home.

Seo Jae-Hwan couldn't speak; being lectured by his daughter was new to him. She has never broken her character before.

"I have my reason," he muttered just enough to reach her ears. Seo Jae-Hwan knew she was right, but he couldn't bring himself to admit it.

It's been too long.

"Figure it out then." She marched out, not in the mood for excuses.

Chairman Seo sat there holding his head like he got a headache from their conversation. Suddenly all the anger he had for his son was turned into guilt. However much he tried to deny it, after the death of his beloved wife, he had changed.
