Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: Galahad's Loyalty

"The Sea?"

Upon hearing Lot's words, Morgan was momentarily stunned.

Go fishing?

"Yes. With such abundant marine resources in this era, wouldn't it be a waste not to make use of them?"

Lot spoke as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Britain's geographical advantages in certain aspects surpassed even those of Lot's homeland in his previous life especially when it came to marine resources.

Back in middle school geography, he had learned that there was a massive fishing ground near England.

The fish caught here might not completely solve all of Britain's current problems, but they could at least alleviate some of the immediate crises.

The priority was to overcome this hurdle first.

"Hmm…"

Morgan frowned in thought.

Well… he wasn't entirely wrong.

"But we've never done this before."

Morgan was still hesitant.

Though Britain was an island, its people in this era were primarily farmers. Fishing on a large scale? That was something they had never attempted.

"Morgan, have you forgotten how we defeated Vortigern? If we could transport troops across the sea, why couldn't we bring fish back?"

Lot encouraged her.

"Hmm…"

Morgan nodded slightly.

Well, if he said so, she might as well give it a try.

If things were truly as Lot predicted that this era of Britain was facing the decline of the Age of Gods then relying solely on the land would inevitably lead to failure.

Only through bold innovation could they survive.

Morgan gently touched her abdomen.

She silently vowed:

This era will not end with me and Lot. When the time comes, your mother will leave you a vast empire to inherit.

Having steeled her resolve, she turned to Lot and declared firmly:

"Alright. Let's do it."

Hearing her decisive tone, Lot grinned. But then, his mischievous side resurfaced.

"Do what?" he teased.

"Of course, we're going to "

Halfway through her sentence, Morgan suddenly realized his implication.

"You…"

She pinched his waist and twisted hard.

Only when Lot raised his hands in surrender did she finally let go, satisfied.

Clapping her hands, she announced:

"Alright, let's get some rest."

Then, seeing how late it had gotten, she let Lot carry her to the bedroom.

Time to sleep.

Though…

It would be a chaste night.

Though they had decided to proceed with the fishing plan, there were still many details to work out before execution.

For instance

The matter of Galahad.

After staying in Camelot for several days, he could no longer restrain himself and went to seek out Morgan.

"Your Majesty, Morgan…"

In the palace's reception hall, Morgan, veiled as always, received Galahad.

"Sir Galahad, what brings you here?"

She spoke lazily, but inwardly, she was panicking.

Damn it, I completely forgot about this! I haven't asked him anything about Galahad! Now he's here for answers what do I do?!

Lot, get over here right now!

Missing out on such a powerful ally would be a huge loss!

What now?

...Guess I'll have to bluff.

"Do you know… my true identity?"

Galahad's tone was solemn.

Over the past few days, he had learned something shocking from Artoria:

The Round Table Knights of this world were founded by Morgan.

This revelation shook Galahad to his core almost as much as discovering that the current "King Arthur" was nothing more than an immature knight with a bottomless stomach.

And as for the mastermind behind it all…

Morgan.

Galahad now regarded her with deep reverence.

She must know something.

Otherwise, she wouldn't have named the order the Round Table Knights.

Today, Galahad had come before her with the mindset of standing before a legendary figure.

Morgan pondered.

Well, Lot probably knows.

So by extension… that means I know too.

"Of course. If I didn't know your identity, why would I have allowed you to join my Round Table? Do you think just anyone can become a Knight of the Round Table?"

Her tone was firm.

Yeah, if you weren't so strong, I'd never have let you in.

Galahad nodded subconsciously.

That makes sense. I was a Round Table Knight in the future, so her recruiting me is only natural.

Then, he pressed further:

"Then… my arrival was it related to you?"

"Your arrival?" Morgan's smile deepened.

Why are you here? Because Lot called you, obviously.

Are you asking if you were just picked up randomly by him?

How should I answer…?

"Naturally. Do you think the mighty King Lot of Orkney would just wander the countryside for no reason?"

Galahad's eyes widened.

So it's true was I really summoned here by Her Majesty Morgan?

"Then… what is your purpose for bringing me here?"

To have you kill people, obviously.

But how to phrase it…?

Morgan's mind raced, piecing together what Lot might say.

Britain… the Age of Gods… Galahad… Lancelot…

Got it.

She crafted a noble-sounding justification.

"To defy our predetermined fate. Galahad, I refuse to accept my destined end so I will change it."

The Age of Gods will inevitably bring about Britain's ruin and I will not allow that.

But to Galahad, her words carried a different meaning.

"Morgan knows that, in the normal course of events, she would lose the throne of Camelot."

She… knows everything.

And she refuses to accept that fate.

That's why she's done all this.

At the same time, he thought of himself.

If Morgan's fate can be altered… then so can others'.

Yes at this point, my father hasn't even met my mother yet.

There's still time to change everything.

Silently, he swore an oath.

"I will change it."

And so, he resolved to follow Morgan and King Lot.
