For someone who had just clawed his way out of a near-death soul seizure that almost turned his soul into a fried marshmallow, Ren was very determined to check out of the infirmary that same day.
Unfortunately, the infirmary spirits weren't having it.
"Oh, absolutely not," one of them huffed, arms literally crossed over her glowing chest as she floated in front of his bed like an overprotective jellyfish nurse.
"Your soul just did a full descent into the abyss and somehow flipped back upright. We are not letting you walk out just because you think you're fine."
"But I am fine!" Ren groaned, sitting up and swinging his legs off the side of the bed.
"Absolutely not."
Even the Life Weaver, who had initially been thrilled at his miraculous recovery and had practically bounced like a bunny around his bed while bombarding him with questions, had turned stern.
