Chapter 37.
"No, they're leaving us behind! The plane must have already taken off!"
As Homelander and Li Yue argued, a panicked woman's voice suddenly rang out. Hearing her cry, the passengers immediately grew restless, pressing forward toward Li Yue and Homelander.
"Sit back down, or I will kill you!"
Homelander's voice rang out coldly. His red eyes locked onto the passengers, and a fiery gaze shot toward the front of the cabin, halting their movement. The heat of his eyes was enough to deter anyone from advancing further.
The passengers, once familiar with the "spiritual leader" known as Homelander from TV, now found him terrifying. They hesitated, knowing that any step forward could provoke his deadly power.
Under the threat of death, no one dared to approach, yet no one was willing to abandon the slim chance of escape. They remained trapped in the narrow corridor of the plane, unsure whether to advance or retreat.
"I beg you, save my child! If you promise to save her, I'll even let you kill me. She's so young, and she hasn't even had the chance to experience life!"
A mother, holding her young child, moved toward Homelander, disregarding her own safety. She begged him desperately.
"Shut up! Take another step and I'll kill your child right now!"
Homelander shouted, causing the mother to freeze and instinctively step back.
"Apologize to me! If you don't, I'll kill you right here, and leave you to die with them!"
Homelander turned back to glare at Li Yue, the red light in his eyes intensifying. It was clear that if Li Yue refused to comply, he would end his life without hesitation.
"You're dreaming if you think I'll apologize! Get out of my way!"
Li Yue paused, considering his options. After a brief moment, he decided. His fists or feet, he wasn't sure yet, but he was ready to act.
"What did you say?" Homelander was stunned. He had expected Li Yue to apologize, but instead, he faced defiance. However, this was merely a tactic to slow things down—after all, this situation was crucial. If Li Yue died now, it could jeopardize their mission to infiltrate the Ministry of Defense. Homelander had invested too much energy into this hijacking, and the death of Li Yue would only complicate his plans.
Homelander, still processing Li Yue's words, didn't see the massive silver fist heading straight for him until it was too late!
BANG!!!
The sound of the punch was like a symphony of gold and iron, making the passengers instinctively cover their ears.
Li Yue's punch was fueled by all the power within him. The speed was blinding, and his fist, now encased in Adamantite alloy, crackled with silver energy. The blow collided with Homelander's face, sending him flying through the air.
"That's for all your smug grins!"
Li Yue struck with unyielding force, knocking Homelander into the aircraft's hatch. The sheer power of the punch shattered the hatch, sending Homelander hurtling –thousands of kilometers away. Only –after traveling such a distance did he begin to slow down, suspended in midair, feeling a painful sting in his face and a numbness spreading throughout his body.
Looking at the rapidly descending plane, his face contorted in anger. For the first time in his life, he felt pain. Previously, when hit by human missiles, he had felt nothing. But now, facing someone he had once dismissed as insignificant, he was overwhelmed by both pain and humiliation.
The pain was secondary; the humiliation was unbearable. This intense feeling of disrespect drove Homelander into a blind rage. The mission, his plans for the Ministry of Defense, everything faded into the background. All that mattered now was tearing Li Yue apart!
Fueled by rage, Homelander ignored the pain and used his incredible speed to race back toward the falling plane. His eyes blazed with a terrifying red light, and a sonic boom followed in his wake as he moved at lightning speed!
He activated his hottest line of sight, reaching its strongest state. Within less than a second, he caught up with the aircraft, and his eyes fired two blazing red beams with terrifying heat aimed directly at the plane. He intended to melt the entire aircraft, seeking to relieve his intense hatred.
However, just as the beams were about to strike, he was stunned to see the entire plane suddenly disappear. It vanished before his very eyes, leaving him bewildered and unsure of what had just happened.
After several moments of confusion, Homelander saw a figure reappear at the exact location where the plane had disappeared. The figure was eerily familiar to him!
Li Yue had stunned everyone aboard the plane by knocking Homelander out with a single punch. The passengers were left wondering: what on earth was happening between these two? Why were they still fighting on board?
When Homelander was struck, he crashed through the hatch, and the plane lost pressure instantly. Several passengers near the opening were nearly sucked out into the sky, but thankfully, Li Yue reached out and saved them.
"Everyone, stay calm. We're flying at high speed," Li Yue said casually to the passengers, who clutched tightly onto anything nearby.
Using his powers, Li Yue made the entire plane disappear from sight. When they reappeared, they were high above the sea. The speed of the plane was still intense, and the passengers could feel the fuselage shaking as if it were about to fall apart. They held onto whatever they could.
With the sea below them acting as a cushion, the plane glided over the water like a surfboard. It traveled a few hundred meters before smoothly coming to a stop on the beach.
"Thank you for flying with us. This flight has landed safely. I wish you all a pleasant journey!" Li Yue's voice echoed through the cabin, and the passengers slowly realized the plane had safely landed, with everyone intact. Some passengers couldn't help but cheer with relief, overwhelmed by the miracle they had just witnessed.
As some passengers rushed to thank Li Yue, they were shocked to find that he had already disappeared, leaving no trace behind.
Li Yue appeared again, hovering in the air where the plane had just vanished. For the first time, he used his flight abilities in front of others. Standing in the sky, he locked eyes with the distant figure of Homelander. His expression radiated fierce determination and readiness for battle.
"Xiaodou. Play the BGM!"
Xiaodou, always obedient to Li Yue's orders, instantly played a dramatic background music.
Li Yue wasn't one for idle chatter. Having decided to confront Homelander head-on, he had no fear. Using his flying ability, he shot through the air and stopped just meters in front of Homelander, facing him directly.
"Why are you hiding your strength? What's your purpose in joining the Seven?" Homelander asked, his voice filled with authority.
Homelander looked at the floating Li Yue, slightly shocked. This was the first time he had encountered another superpowered individual besides himself who can fly!
Despite the surprise, Homelander remained confident in his own strength. He didn't believe Li Yue posed any real threat. The punch Li Yue had landed earlier was merely due to him being unprepared.
"How did that punch feel?" Li Yue smirked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"You... very well. You've managed to anger me. Let's see if you can handle my fury!" Homelander growled, his anger building. He was ready to tear Li Yue apart and turn him to ash with his scorching gaze to release his rage.
"Why do you villains always repeat the same lines? Can't you come up with something new?" Li Yue mocked, positioning himself as the righteous hero, ready to take on the villain.
"Hmph! No more words. Let's settle this with action!" Homelander snarled, his eyes blazing with fury, ready to engage in a final showdown.
Homelander, typically known for his talkative villainous nature, shifted into a more aggressive stance. He leaned forward, clenched both fists, and his body soared into the air. His red-and-white striped cloak billowed in the wind, constantly whipped by his invisible power. The sheer force of his presence was so strong that even the white clouds surrounding him were blown away by the invisible pressure!
"Wait a second!"
Just as Homelander was about to charge directly at Li Yue and start the battle, Li Yue suddenly shouted! This unexpected interruption caused Homelander's rising momentum to falter for a moment.
"What's wrong? Are you afraid? It's too late for an apology now!" Homelander sneered. He was completely confident in his own abilities and had no fear of any tricks Li Yue could use. Moreover, he was certain of his speed. At the distance between them, he could close the gap in less than a tenth of a second, allowing him to reach Li Yue instantly!
"Well, you're overthinking it. I just need you to wait for me while I add a little buff to myself."
"What do you mean?" Homelander was momentarily confused by Li Yue's words.
But he was stunned to see something strange happening to Li Yue. His entire body turned metallic silver, but this was just the beginning.
At that moment, Li Yue briefly transformed his body into an Adamantite alloy state, then closed his eyes and fully tapped into Thor's power. He knew that even though he was only at 70% of Homelander's strength, he had no choice but to give everything he had in order to defeat him. Li Yue had more than just victory in mind—he wanted to achieve something greater.
As Li Yue closed his eyes, the air around him crackled with countless silver lightning bolts, flashing and sparking around him. Suddenly, the sky above darkened. Within a few kilometers, the entire sky was covered with thick black clouds.
"No, the weather forecast didn't mention rain today!" A tourist, climbing a mountain and taking pictures with his phone, was startled when the sky seemed to turn dark, as if nightfall had arrived early. He looked up, confused.
He muttered to himself, as he noticed the thick dark clouds above. The lightning, dense like an umbrella stand, began converging on a mysterious figure in the sky.
Homelander felt a sense of unease. Just two seconds later, the intensity of Li Yue's aura made him feel a genuine threat. His previous confidence started to wane, and he couldn't hold back any longer. Clenching his right fist with determination, he rushed toward Li Yue at full speed.
The distance between them was small, but with each step, the sound of his movements echoed like a series of thunderous cracks. The noises connected together in rapid succession, almost like a single booming sound. In an instant, Homelander reached Li Yue and slammed his fist toward his face!
At the exact moment Homelander lunged at him, Li Yue suddenly opened his eyes. But they weren't ordinary human eyes—they shone like two silver lightning bolts cutting through the sky, radiating a brilliance akin to stars.
Above, the dark clouds seemed to welcome the return of a king. A dazzling lightning strike shot out every ten meters, each flash accompanied by the deafening roar of thunder, as though the very heavens themselves were tearing apart.
Countless silver lightning bolts, thick and thin, converged toward Li Yue's position. Like the branches of a great river, the lightning struck with incredible force, eventually merging together and flowing into Li Yue's body as he stood at the center of the storm.
At this moment, Homelander's fist was less than half a meter from Li Yue. Without any sign of panic, Li Yue raised his arm, clenched his fist, and met Homelander's punch head-on.
The scene reached its peak as Xiaodou's BGM played, and the two fists collided with immense force!
Boom! ! !
A deafening noise, reminiscent of a nuclear bomb explosion, echoed out from the point of impact where Li Yue and Homelander's fists met. A visible shockwave spread rapidly in all directions, and the dark clouds that had previously covered thousands of kilometers of sky were instantly swept away by the overwhelming power. The sky brightened once more!
Even a plane, tens of thousands of meters away, which had just taken off, was nearly caught in the shockwave and sent spiraling toward the ground.
Fortunately, the captain of the flight was an experienced professional. Despite the emergency, he kept calm, skillfully controlling the aircraft to maintain balance and prevent a crash.
Li Yue and Homelander, the source of this powerful impact, were both sent flying by the shockwave, retreating for several kilometers before finally coming to a stop. Their shirts were torn, their bodies battered, resembling two beggars–.
Despite this, they seemed to share an unspoken understanding, pausing momentarily before charging toward each other once again with full force.
However, this time, neither Li Yue nor Homelander aimed to deliver their best blows as they had before. Instead, they both closed the distance and began trading punches, no longer relying on complicated techniques. With their immense strength and incredible speed, neither of them could afford to waste time with fancy moves—straightforward punches were the only truth.
In just one second, they exchanged hundreds of punches. For every blow Li Yue landed, Homelander retaliated with just as many. Each time they collided, their bodies were sent flying back for nearly a thousand kilometers, only to immediately rush back at each other again, relentless in their assault.
"Damn, it's like a battle between a cultivator and a Superman! This is a legendary fight—no way, I'm filming this and posting it online!"
The tourist, standing below and nearly fainting from the immense noise, finally snapped back to reality and looked up at the two figures in the air, still locked in their fierce battle.
Having read countless novels, he immediately associated Li Yue with a cultivator, especially after seeing the thunder and lightning that still crackled around him. His imagination ran wild, and he couldn't help but think of Li Yue as some kind of immortal fighter in a cultivation story.
