Chapter 3: Berlino

Plot: Bloodfallen approaches the bank vault and encounters the last remaining criminals. Everything seems easy, but things have turned out to be more difficult than expected.

XXX

POV Narrator

There are only four people left in the bank: an unknown hero, three criminals and a single hostage.

'Everything is almost done, I have at least three quick attacks to do and I will have finished this self-imposed task.' Bloodfallen thinks, walking quickly through the corridor of the bank.

Bloodfallen quickly arrived in front of a metal-covered wall, with a huge circular door, thick, sturdy and with a huge security mechanism.

The vault door is wide open.

'This is the first time I've seen a bank vault entrance, I feel like I'm in GTA or La Casa de Papel, only I'm not part of the robber team.' Bloodfallen thinks, losing concentration for a moment, being impressed by the sight.

Bloodfallen recovered when his Sarkaz ears heard the sound of objects falling to the ground, heavy footsteps and the groans of a man.

'No extra distractions.' Bloodfallen thinks, darting forward, believing that all the commotion from earlier has made it impossible to return to stealth.

Additionally, the magic staff Bloodfallen wields is based on Khakkhara, famous for his rings and the noise they make.

XXX

The entire Credit Chase vault is a large rectangular room, the walls are lined with safety deposit boxes, some of which have been forced open.

There are also a handful of trolleys that must have contained a good amount of banknotes of various shapes and currencies.

But now the carts are almost completely empty on them or around them are a few dozen one dollar or ten dollar bills, at most one fifty dollar bill in the mix.

Chase Credit is a small bank, but inside their vault is a small fortune if it is completely emptied. Which is happening.

Inside there are four people, three robbers and the hostage who is the bank manager.

The three robbers are dressed in winter clothing that hides their faces and distinctive features, but does not hide their physical constitution.

One of the robbers is tall and muscular, lots of muscles, if it were a movie under the robber's ski mask there could be Dwayne Johnson.

One of the robbers is tall and muscular, the classic bag of muscles, if it were a movie under the robber's ski mask there could be Dwayne Johnson.

In his hands he holds a steampunk-style assault rifle, which basically looks like a modern rifle, but has undergone some modifications, using components made at home or outside of a well-equipped workshop.

The second criminal is short and has a big belly. This individual exudes the air of a criminal who is good with his hands and at opening things.

He wields a sort of steampunk-style drill, modified to improve his performance.

The third individual is thin and tall, medium build. His winter jacket is open, revealing a pair of shoulder holsters with pistols and a tactical belt with steampunk-looking grenades.

The air of a self-confident leader belongs to him.

Sitting on his knees is a middle-aged man, bald and wearing large glasses, who looks like a typical, obnoxious high school principal. But, of course, in this scenario he is the hostage who was forced to open the vault.

"Guys, this is the last safety deposit box we can open, then we have to go!" exclaims the boss, aware that something has happened upstairs.

At that moment, Bloodfallen entered the vault, as if he were a wolf on a hunting trip, he lunged at his prey.

In this case the big guy with the unusual looking rifle.

BONK !

Bloodfallen's scepter struck the muscular criminal's chest, sending him flying into one of the vault's walls.

The assault rifle fell to the floor.

In his experience as a gamer, Bloodfallen has learned that it is best to take out large enemies and/or those with annoying weapons.

Bloodfallen has turned his attention to the bank manager, who is still on his knees and scared.

"Old man, run away from here, I saved everyone else except you, go away now and tell the police about the explosives!" Bloodfallen shouts loudly, not wanting to deal with a scared civilian in a room filled with guns and explosives.

The director did not hesitate to run away, despite his age he moved quickly. Adrenaline and fear work wonders in escaping from danger.

The gang leader tries to move his hand towards his guns.

"Keep your hands up or you'll get electrocuted!" Bloodfallen threatens, pointing his scepter at the skinny criminal, causing black electrical sparks to emit from it.

The leader of the gang slowly raises his hands above his head, he seems calm and peaceful.

As the fat criminal snaps his hands into the air, still holding the drill, he looks like he's about to cry or soil his pants.

"You're not Batman." The gang leader said, less like a question, more like a statement.

"I'm a new bat in town, my name is Bloodfallen." The hero of no fame replies, wanting to stall so the last hostage can get away and tell the police about the bombs.

"Ever heard of you, first week of service at the cape club?" asks the bank manager, as if he wants to befriend the hero.

"First day, first assignment." Bloodfallen replies, focusing on the chattering criminal.

So far everything has gone smoothly for the hero, he is with the last criminals in front of him and under fire, Bloodfallen is lowering his guard sure that in a few minutes this story will be over.

A mistake born of inexperience that will cost you some pain.

"I feel honored, I am the first criminal in Gotham, indeed in the entire world, to meet Bloodfallen." The chatty criminal said, treating the whole situation as if he were on a stage and was about to receive an award.

The Vampire Sarkaz's eyes are drawn to the chattering criminal's grenades, the low-tech powers he possesses are revealing something.

"You have some nice toys, where did you get them from?" Bloodfallen asks, sure that they are not simple explosives made by an ordinary person.

The Thinker - Reproduction power in the Vampire Sarkaz's head is already giving rise to suggestions of how he can study the grenades and reverse engineer them.

"I'm a charming man with many friends." The gang leader replies, smiling under his mask, appreciating the attention he receives.

"I'm sorry, but I don't believe you. Instead, I assume you know someone who suddenly has a talent for advanced technology." Bloodfallen says, sensing that he isn't the only new special individual in town.

The chattering criminal remains silent for a moment, this means that Bloodfallen guessed right.

"Maybe yes, maybe no, but before I talk about my supplier, let me introduce you to a good friend of mine, his name is Jakob, he has a bad temper." Said the gang leader, lowering his hands.

At that moment the muscular criminal gets up and without hesitation grabs Bloodfallen from behind in a death grip that serves to suffocate.

"You hit like a little girl." The muscular criminal exclaims, tightening his death grip.

Having never been attacked in this way, the man behind the Bloodfallen mask panics for a moment, drops his scepter and grabs the arms of Jakob, aka the muscle-bound criminal.

By pure instinct Bloodfallen moves his hands and grabs Jakob's arms, it being a movement of pure instinct, he can no longer hold back.

The Vampire Sarkaz's fingers are more like claws, unwittingly, his ten fingers have penetrated the muscular criminal's skin, reaching deep into the muscles.

"Haaaaa!" Jakob cries out in pain, but despite his forearms being punctured by the Vampire Sarkaz's fingers, he doesn't let go.

On the contrary, Jakob uses his anger and pain to increase the strength of his grip.

"Ciccio, do something useful." The gang leader orders, as he moves to grab two bags of loot.

"Right away, boss!" the fat criminal exclaims, dropping the drill and lunging for the assault rifle.

The fat guy who has seen too many Rambo movies, without even getting up, takes the rifle, points it at Bloodfallen and pulls the trigger.

BLAST ! BLAST ! BLAST ! BLAST !BLAST ! BLAST ! BLAST !

A volley of bullets coated in something fluorescent/glowing were fired from the steampunk rifle.

The fat guy has horrible aim, most of them hit the walls and ceiling, but a few of them manage to hit Bloodfallen.

Luckily, upon impact, a blue/purple barrier appeared around Bloodfallen, saving him from this attack.

'Thank goodness I have a defensive barrier.' Bloodfallen thinks, avoiding finding out what it feels like to be shot by a steampunk weapon.

Somehow, the sound of the rifle brought Bloodfallen back to reality, stopping him from being instinctive and returning to thinking with his head.

The Vampire Sarkaz stomps forcefully on Jakob's foot.

CRACK !

"Haaaa!" Jakob lets out a loud scream, as his knee buckles in pain.

Most likely he will not be able to walk for several months, perhaps there is a risk that he will become lame.

Bloodfallen stops squeezing/piercing the muscular criminal's forearms, instead throwing a strong elbow.

CRACK !

Jakob gained some broken ribs, with such damage, the muscular criminal loosened his death grip on Bloodfallen.

The Vampire Sarkaz turns to Jakob, and without a word, he hits him in the chest with the palm of his hand. Such a gesture, if made by a human, would result in a push, but if made by a Vampire Sarkaz... the result is more than a simple push.

BAM !

Jakob took a short flight that ended in a powerful impact against the vault wall, so hard that the evening of some safety deposit boxes came loose.

Bloodfallen turns to the fat criminal who tried to shoot him straight in the chest.

The fat guy, seeing that the gang's muscle has been easily beaten by Bloodfallen, panics and tries to shoot the Steampunk rifle again, but he can't activate it anymore.

The fat guy, seeing that the gang's muscle has been easily beaten by Bloodfallen, panics, tries to shoot the Steampunk rifle again, but can't get it to work anymore.

The fat criminal stands up and raises his rifle like a baseball bat. His intent is clear.

"Blood thorns!" Bloodfallen exclaims, raising his hands towards the two criminals.

The blood on Bloodfallen's fingers turns from liquid to solid, forming fearsome claws. Instead of being used as cutting weapons, these blood-thorn nails are shot out.

"My hands!" screams the fat criminal, as his arms are pierced by "blood crystals."

"I'm not finished yet." Bloodfallen said, making motions with his hands.

The blood crystals absorb some of their victims' blood, and begin to grow and expand, encasing the hands in a large, heavy mass of solid blood.

Through a combination of mild anemia and the weight of the blood mass, the two criminals had no choice but to kneel on the ground, their hands held down against the floor by the weight.

"Now I understand why you call yourself, Bloodfallen, you have powers over blood." Said the gang leader, standing at the entrance to the vault, with two bags of loot at his feet.

Vampire Sarkaz leaps forward with superhuman speed, grabs the chattering criminal and lifts him up by the collar of his shirt with a single arm.

"This robbery is over. Let's see who you are?" Bloodfallen said, removing the gang leader's ski mask, revealing...

"Pedro Alonso!?" exclaims the man behind the Bloodfallen mask, surprised to see the face of a famous actor on the body of a bank robber.

"I'm sorry but you're confusing me with someone else, my name is Andrés." The gang leader replies with a smile on his lips.

Andrés takes advantage of Bloodfallen's confusion to take one of his special grenades and stick it into the infamous hero's chest.

Bloodfallen loosens his grip on Andrés, who takes the opportunity to get away from the Vampire Sarkaz.

Bloodfallen when he grabs the grenade glued to his chest...

SONIC-BOOM !

The grenade explodes, throwing the hero into the vault.

"You are definitely Berlin." Bloodfallen mutters, as he lies on the vault floor, right in the center of the ring of explosives.

Vampire Sarkaz tries to stand up, but he can't, he feels dizzy and in his perspective the room is spinning.

"Berlin, I like that nickname." Andrés said, happy with his stroke of luck, as he threw the entire belt of grenades into the vault.

Andrés uses the hero's stun to close the vault door, then takes a remote control with buttons out of his pocket.

"I feel sorry for Jakob and Ciccio, but they knew the risks of this business." Andrés said, with a serious expression, before pressing the buttons on the remote control.

In a moment...

BOOM !

BOOM !

BOOM !

BOOM !

BOOM !

BOOM !

BOOM !

BOOM !

BOOM !

BOOM !

BOOM !

BOOM !

A mass of explosives shook the entire building, causing immense structural damage, especially inside the vault.

"I got what my lady needed." Andrés said, touching the inside pocket of his jacket, where there is a USB stick with important information.

"I earned some money, defeated a novice hero, and opened an escape route. A day full of successes." Andrés said, his expression proud and proud.

Berlin's triumph lasted fifteen seconds, then ...

SMASH !

SMASH !

Something inside the vault is hitting the blast door from the inside.

The walls of Berlin are falling, metaphorically speaking.

"I won't go empty-handed," Andrés said, before taking out the USB stick, putting it in a small plastic bag, and swallowing it.

"I can say a lot about myself, but not that I don't put in the work." Andrés said, punching his chest, having a little trouble getting the USB stick down his throat.

The gang leader was walking away from the vault door, when he heard someone shout, "Waifu 4 Laifu!"

SMASH!

A blow more powerful than the previous one hit the door and this time it didn't hold.

BAM !

André watched helplessly as the armored door fell on its side as if it were an enormous coin.

The person responsible for this is Bloodfallen.

He finds himself at the entrance to the vault, his costume showing almost no signs of having been in a closed room full of explosives and grenades, the only trace being ash and dust in certain places.

There are some more significant differences in Bloodfallen's appearance, however; his left arm is encased in a sort of black armor with red markings, and he wields what appears to be a large cross-shaped shield, made of a black material with red veins.

"I can't believe what I'm about to say: Jiraya thank you so much for your advice, I was saved by the power of a Waifu." Bloodfallen mutters, his voice tired, as if he had run a marathon.

"How did you survive? Those explosives were designed to create a tunnel from the vault to the sewers. Are you invulnerable?" Andrés asks, assuming that Bloodfallen might be more like Superman than Batman.

The Vampire Sarkaz decides to answer Andrés' question: "If Amiya was able to go from Casters to Guards, using her admiration for Ch'en and the power of Eternal Civillight. Why can't I do something similar using my love for Mash Kyrielight?"

"I didn't understand anything you just said." Andrés said, taking out his guns.

"I know, Berlin, you and everyone else never understood me. It doesn't matter, maybe I fried my brains somewhere, but I learned one last trick in my time of need." Bloodfallen mutters, using his right hand to touch the side of his head.

"I hear heroes are hard to kill in America," Andrés said, aiming his guns at the unsung hero.

"Berlin, you're smart. I survived an explosion created by grenades and high-performance explosives. What do you think bullets can do to me?" Bloodfallen asks, pointing the lower part of his shield at the leader of the gang of robbers.

"You won this time, but next time I'll be better prepared." Andrés said, dropping his guns.

The chattering criminal would rather end up in prison with his bones intact than end up in prison unable to eat solid food or walk.

'The second part of the mission was harder than expected, but I managed to complete it. Now I just have to take Berlin to the police, leave and take an aspirin.' Bloodfallen thinks, suffering from a slight migraine.

Vampire Sarkaz wasn't kidding when he said he "burned his brains out" creating his new Shielder-inspired toy (Mash Kyrielight).

Bloodfallen takes a step towards Berlin...

At that moment, a police SWAT team entered the corridor leading to the bank vault.

The person leading the SWAT team is a middle-aged man, with a hat, a mustache and glasses.

His name is James Gordon, the police commissioner of Gotham City, who shares Batman's deep commitment to ridding the city of organized crime.

Gordon, instead of wearing his classic brown trench coat, wears a green suit with a black tie and a police radio attached to the top left.

He wears a blue bulletproof vest with "GCPD" written on the back and a blue winter jacket with the American flag on the right sleeve.

He wears a police badge and a holster on his belt.

"Hands up and no sudden movements!" Gordon yells, holding it in his hands, ready to fire if necessary.

Behind the commissioner are a handful of agents in SWAT uniforms that make them unrecognizable.

"A little too late Commissioner, the new hero has already convinced me to surrender." Andrés said, holding his hands up, playing by Gordon's rules.

The chatterbox criminal survived against a Meta-Human, it would be humiliating to take a bullet from a normal cop.

"I see you lose gracefully, Berlin." Bloodfallen said, tempted to give the professional robber a little applause.

"Berlin?" one of the SWAT agents mutters, believing that to be the stage name of this criminal.

"Thanks for the hero title." Andrés, alias Berlin, said, certain that his status in the underworld has grown.

"Officers, handcuff this man and take him to the van with the others." Gordon orders, leaving his subordinates to take away the criminal named, Berlin.

"Commissioner, prepare two more handcuffs and an ambulance. There are two Berlin underlings in the vault who are in bad shape. I managed to save them from the explosion, but they need treatment." Bloodfallen said, pointing to an intact area of the vault, where there are two unconscious criminals.

Vampire Sarkaz saved Jakob and Ciccio's lives by pure chance, his defensive technique has a wider range of action than expected.

Commissioner Gordon stands in front of Bloodfallen and looks at him carefully.

"You're not Batman." Gordon said, surprised not to see the Dark Knight or any of his comrades at the scene.

"You're the third person to say that to me today. Is it that hard to believe that there's a new hero in Gotham City?" Bloodfallen asks, starting to tire of hearing that phrase: You're not Batman.

"I am a tired man, with a slight migraine and who wants to eat a large hamburger." Bloodfallen said, suffering from these little problems.

"I'm serious, boy." Gordon said, assuming from the answer and the voice that Bloodfallen is young.

Well, young compared to Gordon, who has seen too much in his life in Gotham City.

"My name is Bloodfallen, I have powers and I want to use them to help the innocent people of Gotham City. I stopped an armed robbery, saved the hostages and defeated the criminals." Bloodfallen said, while making his black shield and the armor covering his left arm disappear.

'A Heroic Meta-Human in Gotham City? Batman won't be happy about this news.' Gordon thinks, knowing his friend is quite territorial.

"If you don't mind, I'm going to leave." Bloodfallen said, walking into the bank vault.

Three-quarters of the vault is covered in ash, dust, cracks and molten material.

The rest is intact, certainly thanks to the intervention of Bloodfallen.

In the center of the vault floor is a hole two meters in diameter and deep enough to reach the sewers.

"What happened here?" Gordon asks, entering the vault, not having finished talking to Bloodfallen.

"Berlin planned to use special explosives to open an escape hole. But my presence forced him to use his escape route as a weapon against me, but as you can see it didn't work." Bloodfallen said, walking to the edge of the escape hole.

"Are you okay?" Gordon asks, not knowing what Bloodfallen can do, but the explosives can hurt quite a few Meta-Humans.

"I only gained a migraine, but it will pass with a little rest. Commissioner Gordon, I will see you in the near future, get used to my presence because it will become a constant in Gotham City." Bloodfallen said, touching the right side of his head.

"Good evening and goodbye." Bloodfallen greets him, before jumping into the escape hole.

"Did he say goodbye to me before he left?" Gordon said, raising an eyebrow, surprised by this fact.

"You're definitely more mannered than Batman, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt." Commissioner Gordon mutters, looking into the escape hole, seeing nothing at all.

Suddenly the sound of a motorcycle engine was heard coming from the hole.

"Commissioner Gordon, the Berlin gang has placed several things in the sewers here, a mattress to soften the fall and some motorcycles for escape!" Bloodfallen shouts, trying to be heard through the hole connecting the bank vault to the sewers.

"I'll take one of these motorcycles as a trophy! Bye Bye!" Bloodfallen shouts. Then the sound of a motorcycle racing away is the last sound to be heard from the hole.

"They're going to get interesting," Gordon mutters, picking up the radio, having to give orders to his subordinates.
