Toru, had felt the building shake and quickly understood that the battle was at its climax and that any second now someone will burst through that door and she'll be face to face with them, unfortunately she still is nowhere nearly turning the bomb invisible.
Her team was out there fighting, and here she was, being useless. One couldn't describe the frustration she was currently feeling.
"Come on! come on!"
She pleaded while trying her best to turn the bomb invisible. Nothing happened. No matter how hard she concentrated, trying to turn it from visible to invisible, her attempts were utterly fruitless.
However, after trying for more than a few minutes, she threw her hands up in the air.
"Oh come on!! Work you stupid quirk, Work!"
She shouted in exasperation. While it was true that she couldn't properly control her quirk and thus would usually just turn invisible without even knowing. It's also true that if she concentrates hard enough, she can turn invisible, but this wasn't true for objects she wasn't wearing.
What was she doing wrong? her quirk was invisible, so why the hell was it difficult to turn things invisible?
Unfortunately, despite asking herself that question, she was not closer to knowing the answer to it.
She wasn't the smartest person she knew, but she felt so dumb for not being able to know her quirk well enough to use it effectively.
"I guess I'm a liar now"
She stated to herself while she plopped herself down on the ground and leaned against the wall. She had informed Taro that she could turn it invisible and hide it, yet here she was unable to do that. What was she if not a liar?
It would be so easy to call it unfair, everyone was good at using their quirks except for her, it would be easy to say it's not her fault, everyone simply had quirks that are easier to use, it's just hers that is difficult.
Fortunately, Toru Hagakure was never one to blame others for her shortcomings and had zero plans to become such a pitiable person. To be a hero means overcoming weaknesses, All Might did not become the symbol of peace because he sat on his ass and complained about unfairness.
She huffed in frustration but stood up and grabbed the bomb, if she can't turn it invisible then fuck being invisible, not like it was ever useful in the first place
"I can't turn it invisible but I can hide it"
She said as she quickly made her way out the door, she can't sit here and do nothing, eventually she's going to be found so best take the bomb somewhere else. Luckily there were no rules that said you can't take the bomb out of the building.
With that thought in mind she stepped out of the room and planned to exit the building but unfortunately just as she did, Kirishima was descending the stairs on the other end of the building and saw her.
The two locked eyes before both wordlessly moved, Kirishima broke into a full sprint, as Toru hurriedly turned on her heels and ran straight out the door of the building. It was a good thing the bomb was as light as a bottle of water and wasn't too big that it couldn't fit through the doors.
She dashed outside and made a break for other nearby buildings
Kirishima, who by this point had been running down stairs and was already tired, sighed, feeling the urge to curse but resolved himself to chase after her anyway.
After exiting the building he found himself unable to find where she was, there were plenty of buildings that she could use to hide and looking for her would take forever.
While Kirishima was thinking how to go about it, Taro burst through the wall of the building and sent debris flying at Kirishima who quickly hardened and let it crash against his person without issue.
"Hello Eijiro"
Taro greeted as he floated above, his blue eyes staring down at Eijiro and forcing the red head to inwardly curse his own luck, Bakugou was one thing but Taro was another and he couldn't handle him, not yet.
However luckily for Kirishima seconds after Taro's arrival, Momo arrived and stood behind Taro. She looked at her teammate and concluded he did not manage to capture the bomb.
"Kirishima, where?!"
Momo hurriedly asked, wanting to not waste time.
"I don't know, she ran into one of these buildings and is using them to hide"
Kirishima answered her question, to which Momo groaned, with Taro here things are going to be difficult.
"Neither of you are getting close to Toru, not while I'm here!"
Taro announced his voice threatening and cold and his opponents couldn't help but dread the fact that they were indeed helpless against him
However despite knowing he was currently out matched, Kirishima wasn't about to take that lying down. A man doesn't let his opponents know he can't win.
.....
BOOM!!
The explosion shook the building and shattered the ice that had been erected by Todoroki sending its shards flying back at its creator.
Todoroki rolled to the side, dodging the shards before once again using his quirk and commanded ice to sprout up from the ground and sent ice spikes toward Bakugou who in turn ran to the side trying to avoid them but they simply followed him. like tracking missile that chased their target until they've struck it.
"Tch!"
He clicked his tongue in frustration, the cold temperature was making it difficult to produce sweat, as such there was a delay before he could retaliate and thus he was forced to be on the defensive more than he would like.
in essence he was in a disadvantage and he did not have that many options, certainly not ones that wouldn't destroy the whole room.
"You can't beat me with one quirk, use your fire, not that it would be much help"
Bakugou taunted, at attempt to get some heat in the room but unfortunately it didn't work, Todoroki did not bother to respond.
with another click of his tongue he stopped and let the ice spikes reach him before he jumped up and then propelled himself towards Todoroki using his quirk.
However Shoto immediately erected an ice wall, forcing Bakugou to have to kick through it, breaking it apart like glass
Just as he was about to land and make a comment about a flimsy ice wall, he found himself being struck on the stomach by a sudden pillar of ice Todoroki had quickly erected.
The piller struck him in the stomach and sent him crashing on the roof and then pinned him there, leaving only his arms and legs flailing about.
"You should think before you act sometime"
Todoroki advised, his tone the same as ever barely showing any outward emotion.
"oh yeah!! Then die!!"
The blonde screamed in frustration as he prepared to use his trump card.
He had been hesitating to use it, as he feared it might destroy the room and however right now, he didn't give a fuck.
Bakugou was fairly smart and forth thinking when he wanted to be, when he made his hero costume, he had wanted a trump, something to get him out of a bind should his quirk not be enough.
So as part of his costume he designed arm bracers shaped like grenades, which would store some of his sweat during battle, gradually accumulating sweat for a bigger and more powerful explosion.
Essentially he quite literally created grenades on his arms and ones he could use whenever he needed it and right now he needed it.
With the pin pulled out, from the small hole the pin was blocking came a bright orange glow, as the explosion came to life. With his arm pointed at his opponent, the blast was let loose towards Todoroki's direction.
BOOM!!
The young man only had a second to react when the blast went off, the power behind the explosion was so immense that both the roof and floor collapsed. Due to the recoil Bakugou was flung upwards breaking through the roof as it fell down.
While Todoroki on the other hand had launched himself towards the window, the same window Momo had exited through when she ascended to the roof, it was an attempt to avoid a direct hit, however unfortunately he underestimated the power behind the explosion.
Todoroki had managed to reach the window, however the force of the explosion was powerful enough to destroy the entire wall and launched afar, sending him crashing to a nearby building along with the debris from the wall.
He then fell down but was quick enough to create a ramp for himself and slid down safer.
Unfortunately Bakugou wasn't so lucky as he dropped to the floor below the one they were in, crashing onto the floor painfully and the debris from the roof crashing with him.
After the dust settled Bakugou groaned as he stood back up, feeling a bit of a headache. He coughed a bit before looking around and saw the enemy bomb on top of all the rubble
"Hell yeah!!"
