Aria's pov
I was shivering and I clutched the blanket even tighter. I could feel eyes on me but I ignored them and searched for the one person I wanted to see.
He wasn't here.
Disappointment filled me like no other but I was quick to swallow it down. Margery and Cecily were standing with me.
The minister looked proud as he announced, "The first set of maidens to cross the glacier. It wasn't easy but they are here,"
The people around cheered but it didn't feel like such a victory because my teeth were clattering.
Like he noticed, the minister smiled grimly at us. "You are to retire now and get some warmth in preparation for your last ultimate test."
My mouth opened, they said the glacier was the last test. Was this a joke?
I held in my snark and allowed the guard to lead me away to my room. I have never been more happy to see the tiny thing.
