Gio was only concerned for a moment.
He knew that the three of them were all relatively newer to real combat. It wasn't safe to leave them alone to figure everything out by themselves. There was a good chance that they'd get injured in the process.
On the other hand, if he always babied them, they would take a long time to learn simple lessons they needed to experience. He saw them grit their teeth and push through the difficulties it took to reach this point, so it was about time for him to start giving them a little more credit.
The girl said she would give the order to kill. She believed Gio was following her because of this threat.
However, the threat meant nothing to him. In fact, he believed in his heart that he would return to his comrades standing over their enemies.
