Orochimaru was panicking.
The so-called god, the man who once declared himself untouchable, was in disarray. But the system fused into his body didn't share his panic. Cold, mechanical, and devoid of emotion, it had no such instincts. Now that it had taken over, it calculated with robotic confidence: a god cannot be harmed. At least, that was the logic it followed.
"Analyzing... Anomalies detected..."
The system trembled, almost like it was seizing. Zixu's sudden onslaught had rattled its database, veering far from the predicted path of fate. Zixu could no longer be analyzed. He was an outlier—outside the system's design.
But Orochimaru? He was far more cunning than the system.
He quickly regained control of the body—but it was already too late. Zixu had shoved the massive nuclear bomb straight down his throat. There was no time to eject it. Orochimaru's form shrank and shed like snake skin, and a new body emerged beside the original.
Black gas and white fire tore into Zixu's flesh. A massive chunk of his chest was gone in the blink of an eye. But pain didn't stop him—his resolve to strike was unshaken.
Wary of making mistakes, Zixu had even asked Chinano to help him transfer the bomb. If it wasn't so difficult to implant it directly into Orochimaru's brain, he would've done it without hesitation—just to make his head boil.
Orochimaru scrambled to recover—but it was too late.
Zixu's attack struck. The nuclear explosion followed. If Orochimaru were truly a god, maybe he'd survive. But he wasn't. Not even actual gods could walk away from a nuke.
In the world of Naruto, it's easy to forget the true force of destruction. A single explosive tag crippled Nagato's legs. A well-placed sword swing could kill a shinobi. Why would a nuclear explosion—a weapon of mass destruction—be considered anything less than lethal?
Orochimaru's body began to dissolve into ash. His pupils contracted as he watched his skin vaporize inch by inch, flesh drying up like seawater on a scorching rock. Radiation twisted his cells, and even space around him distorted. He'd already activated his Hollow Transformation, but it meant nothing here.
What made it worse?
This was his freshly shed body. By all logic, his so-called "immortal" form should've been able to resist. But now, he was like paper tossed into a furnace—fragile and powerless.
"No... something's wrong with my body..."
He quickly realized the truth: Zixu had done something. He focused, probing the surrounding energy—and found the anomaly.
The air around him was saturated with natural energy, fused with blood-colored steam. Powerful, yes, but strangely lifeless. Chakra was almost entirely suppressed. That blood-hued fog was eating into him—just like the natural energy.
"Inorganic Reincarnation..."
Orochimaru recognized the technique instantly. Zixu's first immortal jutsu. He hadn't expected him to unleash it here, of all times.
He tried to escape—if he could just get out of this corrupted domain, Zixu wouldn't stand a chance. He could kill him with ease. He just had to escape…
But it was pointless.
The explosion's heat and radiation bound him in place. Earlier, Zixu's Immortal Gu Houses had collapsed. All insects except Hatsuizumi had detonated simultaneously, and Hatsuizumi remaining force had sealed the surrounding space.
"Rosinante!" Zixu shouted.
The very air around them tightened. Orochimaru tried to morph into black gas, hoping to slip away—but he was pinned in place, paralyzed by the stagnant space.
Here, in this twisted pocket world, everything turned on him. The dust, the air, even the atoms—all manipulated by Inorganic Reincarnation—attacked him.
The energy and flames from the nuke were bent unnaturally, aimed directly at Orochimaru, their path forcibly altered by Zixu's will.
Zixu swung his staff repeatedly. Every attack cost him. He couldn't fully redirect the heat and radiation—each manipulation burned him, piece by piece. His body collapsed steadily, skin and muscles crumbling like ash. With every blow he landed, a part of him disintegrated.
"Don't forget... the system was created to serve humans. And now, we don't need it anymore!"
His strikes hit like the hammer of a god. Orochimaru was trapped—an iron slab thrown into a furnace. Zixu had become the furnace itself.
"Stop! You'll die if you keep this up! You lunatic!" Orochimaru shouted, struggling against the space-time chains anchoring him.
But Zixu didn't listen.
"Die…"
His eyes were nearly rolled back in pain, but he remained standing. He wouldn't stop.
"Listen! My original goal was to get rid of the system! That's why I created your clone! Why I lured Black Zetsu into merging! Everything was to expel the system! We're on the same side now!"
Zixu didn't even blink. Whether it was true or not didn't matter anymore. What mattered was this: Orochimaru had to die.
And then—calm washed over him.
Rosinante's voice echoed in his mind, and a relieved smile spread across Zixu's face.
With Chinano and Rosinante's help, Karin and the others had escaped the blast radius. They were safe.
Zixu smiled wider. The world quieted. Even the chaos around him seemed to slow down.
He watched Orochimaru scream silently. His lips moved in fear. His pale face twisted in terror. And behind Zixu, the shadow of the blood dragon loomed—coiling, wrapping around the both of them.
The nuclear explosion hadn't finished yet. The blood dragon's growl echoed across the battlefield.
A massive mushroom cloud tore through the heavens. The earth shuddered violently. The sound of the explosion split the sky. The newly grown forest, resurrected with chakra, was reduced to ash in a single breath. Dust, flames, and scorched debris shot skyward, merging with the mushroom cloud.
The world turned gray.
Even the Whirlpool Country far above was rattled. Steel shells, sealing barriers—none of it could stop the tremor. The entire city shook, rising slightly from the impact.
At ground zero, the earth cracked open—magma bubbled to the surface, black mud boiling with it. The strongest sword of humanity had carved a gaping scar into the world.
And the flames—oh, the flames—fed by chakra, burned across a hundred miles.
The earth that had only just begun to recover…was shattered again.
